Soundtrack
Hi ALL!
I don't know if you need soundtracks for this game, but anyway I composed a theme for this project (made it today in 4 hours). It is NOT ready yet this is just a demo version. I want to compose it further and to change some instruments. For example the flute which I used - suxx. I want to record a real recorder, but I am still waiting for my sound interface with microfone inputs. =P
So. Hmm... here It is.
PS: NO LOOPS USED! Used: Cubase SX3, EW Quantum Leap SO.

THANX! I promice I will find some time towork on this theme more. =)Stalker wrote:My ears scream "Want more". If ears can scream that is Personally, as you could have already guessed, I like it a lot. It fits Imperial regions of Morrowind IMO more than Dunmeri ones though.

awoo, makes me want to animate a trailer for this! In fact, with permission of Raincatcher and the overseers of the TR cast, I would definetly!
Such a lovely harmony which slowly and evenly turns into a delightful crescendo. And, like a held breath, it ends on a sudden note. Very wonderful, this user's got talent

Oopsy. I didnt realise that this wasnt in the sound thread. What I meant was that the sound thread rather un-active. Hopefully, if you become a moder, you can help change that!

Impressive work! Like Macar says, I really hope you stick around! A lot of music is going to be needed for both projects, so the more musicians, the better. Not only do you have a lot of talent in compositon, you have software people can only dream of as well! I'm sure many would welcome your help in orchestrating their works too.
P.S. Please don't make handbags, wallets, belts or shoes out of Orix

So, here is a little bit more.. Still not ready, but it is already something.
Damn, I landed somewhere where I did not want to - it sounds too sad at the end . Like someone is dead I will change it, don't worry!
PS: Just stopped for today, I worked 7 hours on this. Gonna get me some beer now.

I like where this is going. I dont think it sounds sad. It sounds more like it's mysterious. actualy the laer section with the flute melody is remnicent of "Harry Potter". Speaking of which, that melody would sound really cool on celeste. You can try that if you want, Just a suggestion

I did not post everythig i composed, i cut a few seconds. There it sounds really sad..Macar wrote:I like where this is going. I dont think it sounds sad. It sounds more like it's mysterious.
Potter - mustdie! LOLMacar wrote: actualy the laer section with the flute melody is remnicent of "Harry Potter".
I do not have celeste in VST, I have "The Grand", but I think piano is not the style of Morrowind.Macar wrote: Speaking of which, that melody would sound really cool on celeste. You can try that if you want, Just a suggestion
PS: I can try to use ochestra chimes istead of cheleste.

Hey, no problem! A good advice is a good advice. I will try it and see if it works. I mean this is your personal opinion and it is always good to know what ideas or suggestions other people have.Macar wrote:Oh okay, I understand now. As for the orch. chimes, you might try it and see what you think. But you dont have to, you definately know what you are doing as a composer and dont need to listen to me.I did not post everythig i composed, i cut a few seconds. There it sounds really sad.

Okay, relentless of the need for it, I have to make an animation out of this now. Besides official chosen concept art, is there any work I should use from the forum (buildings, monsters, anything majestic/epic) in a montage?

But dont listen to me.
lol
Well it can be something in the middle, I am not sure, but last seconds really suck! LOL I will repair it sometime. I do not have good sound monitors, so I can not make high quality mixdown. When separate tracks will be ready I will mix it in studio.
And I hate to have only one gig of memory. -When I unfreese instruments in Cubase it tells me "Physical memory is getting low! Loading more samples might cause problems" huhu.

I am waiting anxiously. However, for the next piece you do I have a little piece of advise. While what you wrote is really cool, it's a little attention grabbing. I liked that the music in morrowind (though a little limited) was not always grabbing your attention, it had some beautiful swells and such but it never realy distracted you from the game. I have a feeling that this track would. Maybe some will dissagree.
Exactly. I've found that keeping the harmonic movement subtile helps. That and lots of slow attack instruments. There's nothing like a cymbal crash or a sunden da-da to catch peoples attention. I suppose though that you can get away with it sometimes.

I'm sure with Oblivion's stunning visuals this music would match perfectly. I'm picturing an outdoor forest... This just screams, "FOREST! FOREST! I BELONG IN A FOREST!"
The music of Morrowind had some very loud moments... The music was just so quiet that it didn't really matter because everything and everyone else was so much louder.

I dont know. And- judging by the new TES title theme- the music in oblivion could be a lot more bomastic. In MW it was a dirge on harp, OB's is a glorious fanfare.

This is some great music but I think the whole idea of an instrument (talking 'bout the flute) playing solo makes it more music to listen to then music to hear on the background. Infact I think it might even distract, ofcourse this is a compliment on the music itself but it should be practical aswell.
