Music on the main site

The main site has a download for dragonfly's clasic piece. Would it be a good idea to include a few other tracks- for example raincather's piece and others?

Ya, should be done... they are all quality pieces...

oh, and btw, i know that it is hard to such music but wouldn't it be cool if someone actually made a song that combines the elder scrolls theme (morrowind theme) with dragonfly's one? No mixing, but combining of the melodies... that would rule

I dont know about that, there are probably copyright isues.

I think its a good idea... I'm no music man, but maybe having more music on the main site would be a good idea, and attract more musicians, perhaps... which I think we're still somewhat lacking in, no?

Maybe an extra tab like books, with about 10 or so finished pieces of music on it.
Also, maybe complie some of the music into a MoT file for Map 1's release.

This is a good idea - but we need to choose some quality music. I think dummyplug's music deserves a place on the site if the idea goes through.

Wizard's Island mod did the same... i didn't hear of any copyright problems they got...

Certainly. We would only choose the highest quality stuff. Kind of like we do with the concept art.

I think we should write packages for each map, maybe six songs in each, and keep them in the OoT downloads page. I'll take a look at all the available songs tomorrow and see what's worth putting in for Map 1.

I'm certainly in favor of including music in oot. But what I meant here was putting stuff up on the main site for recruting. When I visit the site for a new game or a big mod, I always check any music samples out.

"Icy Mountain" (Guybrush)

Stuff I'd like to see built upon...

"Rethan" (Arondil)
"Piano Dm" (Eskimo) - But Eskimo is never here, so this may be a problem.
"Song of the Airsprites" (Odowacar) - He still around?

Unless we go for a collage of sounds, I can't see them making a difference, to be perfectly honest. Feel free to correct me.

Edit: No offence against people who specialise in sounds.

I don't know about that, we've got a few quality effects, but mostly voices and such like.

I dont think sounds would be an effective recruting tool. Most browsers probably wont even listen to them unless they are looking for sounds to use.
