Raincatcher's TR theme

Post by Lutemoth »

http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/old_forum/viewtopic.php?t=15677

Undoubtably, I am pulled by an unforeseen motive to create a flash montage of Raincatcher's inspiring Tamriel theme (despite that it is still in it's pre-final stages).

Unless intended otherwise by TR admin, would anyone like to join me in creating storyboards/ideas they know would be suitable for the melody? What of the current official/unofficial artwork would be best representative in an ensemble worthy of Tamriel-Rebuilt?

example
Exterior/day
fade in, deep within Colovian forest amongst ruins, swaying gently, as a deer gives way it's place as an ear twitches, and runs away.(10sec) slowly, the camera moves forward at an accelerated rate until it finds a clearing to a cliff opening to the Abecean Sea.(20sec) Fade in title

a flying shot over the dragontail mountains (20 secs)

swiftly pasing over forests and streams in Hammerfell heading to Iliac Bay (39.4 secs)

we start to pass over the Iliac Bay. and you get to see little boats sailing and stuff floating. (45 secs)

a small clip of inside Stros M'Kai, small clip of an active fishing village, little jab at Faing lair (59.7)

introduce main villian doing something evil. and paying off guards.(1 min 19.5 secs)

shots of Sentinel, Rihad, Taneth and Hegethe (1 min 50 secs)

entering the palace at Taneth and showin the interior (2 mins 26.5 secs)

communication between our hereo and the palace King or Queen(2 mins 46 secs)

rise swiftly in the hall to show the Tamriel Rebuilt logo and end with two shots one of Taneth King or queen and one of our villan (end)

edit: I used the timeing from the song to show when the shot should stop

I suppose I'm in the minority. But I think that Raincather's theme is wierd for a hammerfell movie. It screams forset and fields to me.

The TR trailer was a trailer for all of tamriel. If I were making a Hammerfell trialer I would use eastern music.

However, I'm not making one so it dosent matter. I'm shure it will be awsome anyway.

Basicly, the mountians are a repeating loop (they'd look like the ones in the bg until tweened inward and detailed). This is merely a drawing I whipped up in 10 minutes, but just showing how easy it can be done.

Ahoi! =)
The track is ready.
I placed it in the music department and I think that it is the last version of it. (Check one of my last posts)
Hope I will start writing next track soon. ;)

Excellent, Raincatcher! I've begun drafting it into flash, tell me what you think, everyone. Most importantly, tell me what you'd like in it.

Nice! Cool art work!
But catapult :) On this place I would use something more traditional, like a warrior standing on the hill, pulling the sword out and pointing with it in the sky (or saluting).
But don't listen to me - I am not flash designer.. =)

Ps: Why flash? You could do some recordings in already created areas in 3d and then mix it in AdobeAfterEffects.

Wow :) You've sure got a broad range of artistic talents. I really like how you have the ships near the beginning.. it sets up the nautical aspects of Hammerfell that are in the Reguard comic. Later on, towards the end I'd like to the see desert, as a contrast. In particular, "A cliffside desert temple" and a bazaar. :P

Flash gives it a really authentic feel, plus its a way we can incorporate our furture concepts of Hammerfell. The creative options are endless. In the future, when we've made a lot of Oblivion content somebody can make a video on that engine using another song.

Nice! Is it only supposed to go as far as the catapault thing or is it just my comp? One thing that I dissagree with is having a monologue intro. I think that unless it is superb it will add cheese and amaturity. cant wait to see more.

Hehe, I was kinda hinting at the intro text that's much similar in the page's original intro to TES3:TR (What lies beyond the sea of ghosts, et al) But you're right, unless it's really good, it's going to end up cheh-heezy

Oh, and with that, Raincatcher, I kinda had in mind of a dunedweller atop a lateral sand dune, clothed in thick tan-coloured shroud and cape hoisting a blade arrogantly into the red sunset sky, just before the denoument cuts into a finish (3:06). I hope that doesn't sway too far in concept of what you had envisioned :)

Also, to get the fullest usage of a single post, would anyone prefer the Tamriel Rebuilt logo in the beginning as-is, or does someone have a font they would find better suiting?

I like the title there because it coincides with the reoccuring theme in the music- that connects the theme with an idea.

As for the oppening monologue- I think text would do just fine. but I kind of like it with just a simple closeup of a tapestry to match the quiteness of the music.

I demand more :)

about half an hour's work, deciding how to colour that scene, which'll make that third ship easier to draw. expect some of LadyN's pirates, some decrepit ruins and maybe some alik'r fauna in the next scene or two

The only think I have to comment on is:

do NOT use the TR phrase found at the top of the forums. That font and color look horrible on anything but these forums (Really, they do). Other than that, quite good for only a draft.

And I loved the pirate scene :-)

Quite understandable, Haplo. I'll try to find a better font in the future :)

Another installment of scenes Really, it's mere seconds, but it's worthwhile and easily alterable afterwards. anything line-drawn, like that zombie, is all figurative. like I'll say a million times, If you want anything in (particularily to artists who have lore-correct work), feel free :)
