The writing is pretty good, but I have the same questions as PoHa! I also wonder, is this for a quest you have dreampt up?
'What if man is not really a scoundrel - man in general, I mean, the whole race of mankind - then all the rest is prejudice, simply artificial terrors and there are no barriers and it's all as it should be.'
Um, I really didn't have a quest in mind when I wrote this. I just kinda started writing. (I do that a lot in world history.)
And yes, I am looking for ways for them to die. It may seem dumb, but I keep coming up dry in that department.
They're all supposed to die in horrible accidents as a result of this amulet, but every thing I think of just sounds really lame. pretty much all I have so far is a falling tree, but I think I can do better.

Related death towards the amulet...
While carrasing (spelling?) the amulet on his trek home, a storm brewed in the sky. He began to run for shelter as the rain pelted him from the heavens above. As he ran towards a rock hanging, he slipped and fell upon the newly laid mud. As he hit the ground, the amulet escaped him. He dived towards it, but it fell down a small hill, into a small pond. He imediatly slid after the amulet, for he would never looser his precious posession. The crust of mud broke apart in the water as he waded towards the area the amulet was dropped. He reached into the water, and searched with his hand for the amulet. his hand found the amulet, and he pulled it above the water. At the moment he looked into the ruby gem center of the dazziling charm, a scream came from the sky. A bolt of lightning shot to the ground (even tho lightning goes up) and killed the man where he stood.
His body was eaten by kagouti later. His friend goes down for a drink on his adventure, and see's the shining light in the water. He then finds his doom.
there's my example, try to tye the deaths into eachother to make the story flow better.
Review: Seems very similiar to the story "The Monkeys Paw", except wishes arn't involved... Monkeys paw is a good book, so on that note, continue the story

Dessert Graveyard
Yes I have seen Final Destination, and that is basicly what I'm looking for.
The amulet kills this guys friends in order to rid him of all his troubles. (while the author believes the amulet will kill him too, this is not the case.) But it can't just shoot out this beam of light and melt them into an oozing puddle of rotting flesh. they all need to die in seemingly unrelated accidents.

Awww... don't like anything from my first list?
Vocal chord explosion.
Stomach lining-eating parasites.
Drowning on extraneous nasal discharge in their sleep.
Toe infection.
Sudden ground collapsing beneath one's feet.
Choking on a bone.
Dehydration.
Trampled by a large animal.
Sqeezed to death.
Torn in two.
Hot oil raining from above.
Sudden and uncontrollable fascination with really sharp spikes.
Vomiting to death.
Accidentally casting fireball on self.
Slowly nibbled to death by a pack of rats.
Mangled by the rocks on a fall down a cliffside.
Trying to place an entire hand in their mouth, unsuccessfully.
Eye gouging.
A very small wound that somehow doesn't heal (bleeds to death).
Daedric intervention.
Colossal wedgie accident.
A tree falls on them.
Ogre chiropractor.
Blunt trauma to the head.
Lava.
Sorry if I repeated anything, I didn't double check every idea.

...
Having the tongue nailed to rock on a cliff edge
Head impaled upon a stick
Consumed in an inferno inside a ship cabin, knowing that there's water on all sides
Disected into 1/2 inch pieces, starting at the toes
Rats feast upon one's eyes, while tied to the ground
Fast Travel, catapult style
Buried in a beach, awaiting the high tide
A pike for a throat cleaner
Sneezing until the lungs collapse
Force fed molten gold
Richard Simmons
Acid Shower
Acid Bath (with Bubbles!)
Spontaneous Disembodiment
Entrail removal
Tickled to death
Scroll of Icarian Flight
Oh... sorry... you don't need any more, do you?

Richard Simmons is a unique NPC too... or, at least a unique creature. Reminds me of Creeper.Andres Indoril wrote:PoHA!, do you know that the Scroll of Icarian Flight is an unique item! It wouldn't be nice if someone else than that falling guy or the player uses it Acid bath with Bubbles is a good idea ofcourse
It's kind of a joke, because he was afraid of heights. If it's confusing it can be changed.PoHa! wrote:Hey, nice Saibot.
That part threw me off. Sounded like he somehow survived there for a minute...On the bright side, he was soon safe on the ground.
After a few days the fog on mind lifted so to speak, then it was simple enough to figure it out.PoHa! wrote:Otherwise, very good. Seems like you really didn't need help with ways for people to die afterall...
If you can't think of a name, you can always just title it something like:
'Anonymous Letter'
or
'Bloodstained Note'

Cheesy, but effective I'll check over it one last time.
