Your Spin on Oblivion's Storyline
I didn't want to clog up the actual Oblivion thread with this jibberish, but just for the record, here is what I think will happen in the Oblivion plotline. (I'm posting this on the offchance that I'm actually right, so I can say "Haha, I told you so!") Anyway, my guess is that you discover the heir, and he feigns to be rescued, then the blades take him in and help him back to health. But, just before the coronation (Or whatever they do as initiation), it is revealed that he is actually in league with the daedric forces from Oblivion. When proof of this is presented, there is a big battle scene, where he blasts half of the blades through the hall and flees. Desperate, he plunges into the nearest gate to Oblivion, taking the Amulet of kings with him. You have to follow him through Oblivion, fight him, and take back the Amulet, which will be restored to some close relative of the Septims, and thus the game ends in peace.
Of course there will be alot more depth to it all, but that's my general summary. So, the Heir basically makes an agreement with one or several of the Daedra Princes, that if they would destroy the remaining Septim bloodline, he would make sure the gates are unlocked, and they all can wreak havok. Then, he would be Emperor, he would trick the Daedra and re-shut the gates, and everything would be honkey-dorey. That's probably just a terrible guess, but for some reason I think that you'll end up fighting the Heir as the "Final boss". So, that's my guess, does anyone else want to throw their idea of the storyline out there? (Can you tell I'm bored?)

Here's what I think will be part of the plot:
I think the emperor, who will sound vaguely like Prof. X, will be assassinated and the player will get the amulet and then have to find the heir, who sounds vaguely like Boromir. Meanwhile, gates to Oblivion pouring Daedra will appear across Cyrodiil. There will also be a bad guy who sounds vaguely like Chancellor Valorum.
Yeah, beat that. Those were total specifics and I bet they'll all be right.

Despite the heir having the freaky smile when stabbing his sword into the ground in the trailer, I still think he'll be good throughout and either end up dying and thus the fall of the empire, or live to get to the throne, then die, then say you're actually yet another bastard son of Uriel Sex-bomb .
I think the lines between good and evil will be far clearer this time, and there seems to be a link with the Camoran Unsurper if you beleieve the lore buffs on ESF, and its something mentioned in the Mysterium Xarxes too, as well as rambings about Dreugh... maybe they overtook Khajiit in the porn industry? I can see a battle with either Merhunes Dagon or that Tarrence Stamp character, just for the hell of it.

Get this, Caius(sp) Cosades is supposed to be the heir!!!
or at least thats what the talk has been at ESF.....
and if he is that means an old arse emperor had to have an "unnamed" affiar then gave the child to his closest friends the Cosadess' of the blades.....

Meh, It's not like we actually know, anyone can speculate if they want to. And Sload, you never cease to amaze me with your allknowingness. I never would have guessed that!

You know I actually got a panic F5 attack when presenting Martin to the Council. All of a sudden I didn't trust him.
I thought, oh it would be SO cool if he was in league with the Daedra, and that you had to get the amulet back, and (even though I tried it on immediately after it was given to me) the fact that earlier you could not wear the amulet was because of a charm set on you that would be revealed in the after the final battle. You stand victorious, but there is no heir and the amulet does not stay around your neck, suddenly the ghost of Uriel Septim comes and admits his initial shock at seeing you was because you were indeed his son, but he had a spell cast on you for protection should anything happen to the bloodline. But he died before he could reveal to you the truth blah blah
LOL I was so digging that and was actually kind of bummed I was wrong.

My speculations on the plot were exact... it's SO DAMN CLICHE AND PREDICTABLE. who the final boss is, what the final confrontation is like and where it takes place... The only thing I didn't predict was that Terrence Stamp was voicing someone totally not-mehrunes-dagon.

Oh man, the Dark Brotherhood quests beat every other elder scrolls quest line COMBINED. to call them "kickass" would be an insult.
We need to come up with the craziest, most awesome quest ideas possible; then actually implement them.
