I can't quote anything either really, buuuttt...
Sotha Sil and Almalexia are dead (duh). King Halseth is starting to peel away the layers and layers of Tribunal Temple rule over society. Vivec hasn't been seen or heard of, neither has the Nerevarine. The Great Houses are on the brink of Civil War with one another.
Also, Solstheim has been invaded by Nords, who want to liberate it from the Empire. I don't know if this is an "official" government-"sanctioned" upheavel or if it's a bunch of rogue Nords doing it.

For clarification, is this to say that you can have the worldmap basically separated into segments that will switch over appropriately? That is to say, you wouldn't be able to see all of Tamriel at once as a single accurate worldmap, but you could see the entirety of whichever province you are currently in as the worldmap. Is this correct? You can actually do that now?Eraser wrote:we'll just have a unique worldspace for each province.
If so, I must say: Bethesda loves us!
Fo those of you who arent sure if your comp will run it. I have good news. I am running it on a 1.4 gig amd athlon with 512 ram. (266 bus) I have a Geforce 6800 series 128mb card. you can almost buy my ancient processor and ram for the price of my card.
The card is the only componet that is really necessary. The game checks your card and sets recommended settings. It set mine high because of my card but I changed texture size from large to medium and at 1024x768 it is very playable.
Of course more ram is more better. so get as much as you can.

I believe that the Devs confirmed long ago that levitation was out, if that's what you mean. But there are flying creatures.Kebra wrote:İs that real that it's not possible to fly ?
To answer your question, I took a screenshot from the CS: Clickeyookami wrote:For clarification, is this to say that you can have the worldmap basically separated into segments that will switch over appropriately?
Music = mp3sGraff wrote:Technical Question
Could someone check the oblivion files and tell me if Oblivion is still using mp3s for music and WAVs for dialogue?
Graff.
Dialogue = seems to be WAV, but I can't be for certain. (couldn't find the files on the disc like I could for Morrowind; lots of packaging)
For everyone talking hardware: we have a thread called "Will my computer run Oblivion" which seems more appropriate for such things, IMO...

Re: oblivion
Um, yeah, we basically knew that from what Dexter and Massey have posted. We weren't asking if Vivec was disabled in your game or not, we were questioning lore. Actual lore. And your quote failed because you cut the end off of it's code.bj wrote:SPOILER ALERT

Well, after trying a few things for the fighters and mages guild, I've decided to try and do odd jobs around and abouyt and make a bit of money, to pay for better weapons, armor, training etc so that I can go and get experience in the field, doing fightersz guild and eventually main quests. But upon looking for said "odd jobs" I'm finding there to be a real lack of... anything, really.
I found one thing in Skingrad with some guy everybody else thinks is crazy, but other than that... :S
So if anybody finds any interesting misc quests, I'm interested in tip on where to go I guess I kind of assumed, since morrowind had min-quests all over the place, that it would be easy enough to find this sort of thing, but apparantly not. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, who knows.

I find them all the time by asking about rumors or about the city. Either that, or they tell me about a nearby dungeon that I can trudge through (which is just as good, IMO)Massalinie wrote:So if anybody finds any interesting misc quests, I'm interested in tip on where to go I guess I kind of assumed, since morrowind had min-quests all over the place, that it would be easy enough to find this sort of thing, but apparantly not. Oblivion has shipped from Amazon, I'll have it on Monday!!! (I knew my birthday would be the day, but my parents weren't sure of which version. Collector's edition, of course.) I've done some video card switching, so now I'm set to go undeniably. Then I'll be able to brag like Massey and Dexter. Lots of screenies forthcoming if all goes well! Yay me!

sounds like time for an upgrade garfield. Spend less on lasagna and save it for an upgrade, your belly can survive a little while without it
We apparently can't trust what they say about architecture styles. One of the loading screens said bruma shares architectural influences from skyrim(very obviously) and morrowind( eh?!) I haven't been to Anvil yet, but for Rihad it'll probably do since both are along the gold coast.

Pros: Incredibly beautiful game. Great quests, strong NPC development,
Cons: Many of the levels have various graphical errors that take away from the experience (Floaters, leaks, etc, some of these level designers would never be able to hack it in TR).
Actually, that's really my biggest complaint. Everything else = great.
That I spent almost 30 hours over 2.4 days playing it says a lot (Usually I need a break after about 6).
