I need help too!

Post by Sezarus »

When you begin making a new mod to use as your showcase, you only need to open the Master file Morrowind right? you dont need to open a master file from the TR download page do you? (OoT) also are you allowed to make a showcase using the Bloodmoon Master file? (as well as the Morrowind file?)

Erm I have a few other problems too:
When i insert the TESCS CD to use the meshes and models in TES3, it doesnt work, is there anything else i need to do? (obviously open CS)
Also this isnt exactly a problem, i'd just like to know, (i need it for my showcase) how did the TR Modders expand the world map to see the mailand of Morrowind? surely the original Morrowind map wasnt big enough to see the TR mod, could someone please tell me how they fixed that?
Thank you, pleae reply.

You should download and use OoT and EoT when making your showcase. Because those master files need Bloodmoon and Tribunal, you should use those also. I don't quite understand the other questions... so I'll leave those for someone else.

i dont use tribunal when i mod, theres something wrong with it. I never changed anything in it, when i load it, it comes up with a load of errors the first one says all these numbers then says the dialogue for "note to ernil" so im assuming theres a problem with trying to load that dialogue, so to avoid harming the mod, i just dont load tribunal. ever.

The warnings are explained here, along with a way to get rid of them. They do not affect the game at all.

To the second post, use winRAR to unpack the files. Unpack them to the Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Data Files folder.

Tr_OoT_Main.esm needs to be activated and so has the Tr_EoT.esm. You should download TR_OOT_Main.tar.gz too and extract it so you would have the models and textures and other stuff which are need by the ESMs

Nope. You'll have to use roadsigns and books to make your way around. As much as you may think that won't work.. it actually makes for a more immersive experience.

I'm don't know... are you sure you are looking in the construction set CD, or the folders on your hard drive? I'm not sure if it would make a difference, but is your disc scractched or dirty?

Wow. I have no idea what this topic is about, but I think I have the same problem. I have no idea what is going on.

I got my copy of GOTY yesterday in hopes of contributing to TR, but I am having a really tough time figuring out the construction set.

Should I figure it out just by messing around?

Also, is it normal to have really have no idea how to work it when you first get it? I mean, I have only messed around with it for about 20 minutes total and I would really like to contribute sometime.

Also, what would be a good thing to attempt to make for practice once I figure it out.

I gave up on the construction set 3 days after I got it. I didnt know I had to load the Dat Files!

The tutorials page here on TR is a good deal. So are the pinned threads on Morrowind Construction Set at the ESF.
It's not so much working with computers as it is tricking them into doing what you want them to do.

Yeh it took me a while to figure it out. I started out with just editing weapons and suchlike. There are tutorials around to look at.

Oh and your avatar is too wide.

It took me longer than it should have, I just tried to make an island and add the lootbag, but then: Hmmm, Data Files, what are those? Ohhhhh!

Later I tried to make a MOD that didn't need Morrowind but used it's meshes, for personel use, naturally, but I had trouble with the starting part. :( Oh, I also had trouble with races, I now realise that checking up on bodyparts would have done the trick.

well openning the CD itself doesnt work.. i seriously have no idea how to find the meshes. If you want to try a first modding tutorial i would recommend the one where you build a basic house in seyda neen.
