Mmmkay- Evergrey

Post by evergrey »

So uh, my first mod is in here:
http://www.niceboots.org/~evergrey/Oblivion/
Please be gentle- it's my first mod ever. Actually it's the first thing I've ever built for a game.

I'm an illustrator and a professional contract graphic designer. I think I would like to design some plants and some beasties, if y'all would like. :) Should I link to a bit of my artwork too? :o

Yes, please. We have a Weekly Sketch Group - HERE - that you should check out.

If you could, would you upload the *.esp here so that I can take a closer look at your mod?

Yes, please show us some artwork. I can tell already it's gonna be pretty darn good, if you're an illustrator.

Hmm, okay, only thing I think it really needs before full release is for the already there map marker nad fast travel to be disabled, heh.

I do sort of want ot make the dungeon WAY bigger, however.

Hope you like it. :} There are references to a couple of WoW friends in there, and only the dungeon itself has pathing, really.

Heh, but I started out knowing next to nothing. Some hints from Eyeball and the TES wikki got me started, and then one of the Oblivion level designers planted the idea of the dungeon in my head. I was originally just going to build myself a house, you see, but oh no. I couldn't stop there. :p

Start at castle Anvil and wlak south on the shore. You'll figure it out from there, I'm sure :}

Some random artwork:

(I need to get to work on that again)
http://www.niceboots.org/~evergrey/projects/wolfrider1.jpg you'll probably want to go to this, as it's pretty large

(charcoal drawing)
http://www.niceboots.org/~evergrey/Portfolio/oceanstars.jpg
(another big one)
(I think that might have been inspired by a race someone modded for Morrowing, come to think of it)
etc and so on :}

Your artwork is fantastic. I love to see you try a Weekly Sketch Group topic. This week its Hammerell pirates/navy.. both boats and clothing, if you're interested. And if you have concepts of arid climate plants, clothing, or critters, or objects, make a thread for your self in the CA forum. :)

I'm curious to know which software you use for your digital art? I'm a fan of Corel Painter IX. :)

:D
Awwwh, thank you!
So long as I am not a staff sargeant. Staff duty sucks, and for some reason always falls on a Friday. :p

I grew up in the desert. Hated it, actually, but it wwas a busted up gang and drug town on the border. I do know a fair amount about deserts and desert plants though. I love succulents, and would be happy to start drawing some.

Also, YARR pirates! Let's see what I can come up with there. :}

Oh!
And I use photoshop, and a wacom tablet. 'S all I need. :}
I used to use a mouse for my art. It was like doing surgery with mittens on compared to the tablet.

Morden told me that people are allowed to doublepost in their Showcase threads, because Showcase threads are meant for personal spam.
There is a Edit function if you want to add something to your post :)

Congrats and welcome to the project.

Best wishes,
Andres Indoril.

Oh by the way, what did people think of my house and dungeon mod?

I know the house itself contains some oddities- I made it for fun. :)

Yeah, in the words of a famous New Yorker:

"It was freaking beautiful!" :)

Perhaps you could add more detail to the eyeball close-up in the final panel. My knowledge of the finer points of biology is pretty horrible, so i just drew a sketch. ;) Maybe some skin texture as well...bumps and other detail since its such close-up.

I'm very interested in it. Sadly I can't playtest the quest before the weekend. Maybe someone else can playtest 9it before the weekend?

Post by evergrey »

A sample of my singing range. Sorry it's not the best, still trying to figure out reverb management in Audacity, I hope it's okay. :o

http://www.niceboots.org/~evergrey/Tamriel/singingsample.mp3

And here's the harp:
http://www.niceboots.org/~evergrey/harping/harping.mp3

And a sample of the psaltrey, with the man killing an Elytra in the background, heh.

http://www.niceboots.org/~evergrey/harping/psaltreyelytra.mp3

Anyway, uh I hope you enjoy it. :o
