Stirk Guard Armor and Banner

I would've posted this in Jale's thread, but Stirk is not Hammerfell. It does, however, deserve to have it's own armor.

I think that Stirk should play on Anvil's armor, seeing as it's probably part of County Anvil. Here is Anvil's stuff.

I'll start with the banner. Imagine the red is blue and the reddish tint on the white part is a bluish one. Then imagine that those bars in the circle are white and rounded, so that on the blue they look more like waves than bars. The little symbol in the middle is made blue so it still stands out, and they are still faintly repeated in the white.

Put the symbol from the circle in the middle of the guard's shield and his shield is done. Let's make the guard's curraiss totally different, though. It should the same blue (probably navy-ish) as the banner, and have the symbol in the center, just like most guards.

And the banners should probably hang in sets of threes, with the middle one being the Anvil banner, to show that it's still part of County Anvil. It'd also make it obvious that it was a redesign of Anvil's, which is good.

Re-textures will work well for this. ;) Just ask Eyeball about the horrors of getting a new mesh into the game.

I finally gave up on the dagger after the fifth time of the import showing up pure black in the CS. I loaded up the game a few hours later to check a book and there was this blob of saran wrap on the ground. I was like "What the he- oh, my dagger works!" So yeah, it's in game and glossy. Go figure.

Hmm eyeball, turn bright lights on in TESCS....I was going nuts trying to find why the bark of the test tree I made was showing up black....then I turned the bright lighting on and the bark texture showed just fine.

Indeed ;) Eyeball has already put 2 weapons into the game.. its just a more of a pain in the ass without an exporter. Could you please make that image a thumbnail, its throwing off the format of the whole thread. Thanks.

The anvil guard vaguely resembles the warrior from GW, and the other screen has that HDR bloom thing going on. Thats probably it.

yeah, I think the color scheme and crest dont work well with the metal. I dont really know what would fit with that color. maybe if we could get something similar to the Imperial city armour. I dont know how it could look, but it might look ok. or maybe some kind of brass?

That's the armor used by Anvil guards so we need to use it. The color scheme can be changed...but the actual meshes and what they're made out of have to remain the same.

What if we make a combination of the original Leather armor and Guard armor and retexture them both to make a new retextured armor set? The Guard helmet has a good mesh for a leather helmet, (or leather-steel) and only needs a retexture.

I'd rather they be kept the same, because all town guards except Skingrad have the same armor except for a different texture on their curraiss and shield. Skingrad is an exception either because it's supposed to be richer than the others or the mate who made it got confused about what armor to use.

I don't know what the armor listings are like, but does it actually specify, for example 'Chorrol Guard Helmet' for the generic shared pieces? If so, might it be an idea to have Stirk's a bit more polished, considering its supposed to be all illylic and pleasant.

I definitely like the blues and whites.

The helmet is just "Guard Helmet," furthering the idea that it would be used for all guards in Cyrodiil.

here is my idea:

have a custom shield and baner, but leave the cuiras as anvil to further promote the "stirk is part of Anvil" look...

and no, this is not a useless bump.

here is my beta (i supose) of the stirk shiled. im not quite satisfied... but i want to know what you guys think you should fix.

and another thing. please stick to construsive comments... not stuff like "i dont like it", cause that dosent halp anyone.

Doesnt look imperial at all, Im afraid, and the colours dont fit with the Anvil Cuirias.

What I would say is either recolour Ala Sload, or just do a slight redesign on the shield in the same colour scheme as anvil. A red and white stallion? A representation of Mr Stirk?

The shield shouldn't be different if the armor isn't. And if there's anything that should stay the same to give the County Anvil feel it's the banner.

I can't draw or anything and all I have is Paint, so if there's any textury artist dudes who could take my design and make it, I'd love them for ever.

I'd like to see a retexture for the castle rugs. They have a name, but I can't remember it. It's the really long rug that adorns castle hallways. Anyway, I use them a lot in Mr. Stirk's manor, and it would be nice to have those rugs for his house - it's certainly big enough to warrant it. :P

How do we know that Stirk isn't it's own county? Anyway, I think both the colour scheme and icons on Sload's design blend remarkably well with the other town guard insignias. My only quirk is that Chorrol has the white and blue as well. I think we should run with it. (And Jale, I believe Bravil has a stallion emblem. If not, one of the cities definatly does. Green shield if I recall.) I'd take a crack at remaking the texture, Sload, but the threat of you loving me forever has me somewhat discouraged. :P

I thought you meant those rugs that are put on the walls of hallways.

I don't know of special names for any other type of rug. Carpet?
