I really like the way Gez put it, though. Artistic liscence is exactly what the name says, and there has got to be some similarities to a fantasy in order to be a fantasy.
But, to ride the concept further, the idea of a worldline similar to Nirn is as equally easy to accept that in a different Earth cephalopods walk upon land and are the dominant species. If it's a theoretic string theory, it is always possible (although Occam's Razor has something to say against it)
Nothing new under the sun, eh?

Elder Scrolls V, all the races on Tamriel learn they were taken from other planets and placed on Tamriel. The Aedra and Daedra are just aliens watching the people they abducted fight each other. They set themselves up as gods, and are worshipped by the other races. Except when one of the races, the dwarves, finds a way to become as powerful as their abductors. The aliens then crush the dwarves. But then the Tribunal and Dagoth Ur uses the dwarves' tools to make themselves gods as well. Then the aliens have to set up a Nerevarine to cast down Dagoth Ur, in doing so eliminating the Tribunal as a threat. Its all very simple you see.

Really, it's all in your perspective, but if you want to question the theories of the universe then fine by me. If you're going to complain about horses and humans, then what about gravity, or an apt climate suited perfectly so that they dont turn in to popsicles or a molten, gravy like substance. For gravity you need to define F = G M[1]M[2]/d(2), which is Newton's Law of Gravitation's formula. secondly, you need to define the temperature, which the chance of landing a perfect temp. is quite slim. Or maybe you think it occurred in a parrallel universe (quantum theory) then the chances of the universes retaining like qualities is more likely. Or maybe you want to argue religion, I'm not going there. Moreover, Gez is right, it is fiction it remains likely that it will always be fiction unless a quantum event occurs and, holy crap! It's Nirn, while it would be more likely to be a simple atom if the quantum theory goes unquestioned in your mind. But, given these choices it's still a game world based upon perspective, like all game worlds are. Your arguments are full of holes, and being proven wrong by some of the greatest scientists the world had to offer every second they remain in your heads. And I truthfully don't know why I posted this, because it's of no coincidence.
My rant for the day.
