It might also be an idea to say what stirk IS (a learning experience for the project, a preview, deliberately that size) and what it isnt (small because we cannot do better, all that we could acomplish in this long at a normal rate) when we let it loose. Total transparancy with how much we have accomplished is always well recieved.

Plus, might it not be an idea to do a sort of hype build of a minimum of 3 days? Starting with a few screenshots, then the video, a map, teasers before we actually release the mod.

yah, we need an EXTREAMLY detailed readme to avoid all kinds of posible flames, complaints, etc.

A regular mod, yes. Our case? No. We can certainly do that with the Hammerfell regions, in fact, I'd encourage it. The goal of Stirk however, has always been to learn about OB, and to put something in people's hands that they can play. Nothing has ever been officially released from this community... whether you joined last month, or 3 years ago. It was all here to download for years.. but never officially bundled. It's very important for this pilot project that we have something to show. In anycase, I would rather not continue this discussion in the tavern.

If you leave it up to players to figure out anything keeping them from reaching your area, they'll ask you. Again and again and again until you put it in the readme. (that stops 75% of them from asking) Trust me, we aint in Kansas anymore and the somber, intelligent atmosphere of old have been replaced by thirteen-year-old counterstrike afficionados.

No, Razorwing is absolutely right about this, a detailed readme that's easy to navigate through is something I love, and I'm more than willing to sit down and write one if everybody else doesn't want to.
