Onager with wheels

Post by Archeopterix »

Xui requested that I make an onager with wheels, it's WIP, still needs a few things. It won't have havok physics though, unless we get a Max importer.

Anyway, it still needs some things added, bear in mind its WIP. I'm using real blueprints from the web though so it shoudl be ok.

I decided to give it a worn look. Anyway, just thought I'd share:

Looks great, but if there are onagers (this is a catapult actually) in Hammerfell, shouldn't there be some in Cyrodiil too?

With all the legions gone and all the forts abandoned? I don't think so. The Imperial Legion's activity in Cyrodiil is limited to patrolling the roads, and they don't need onagers to do that. Then there's the City Guards, but they don't need onagers either.

So, onagers in HF but not in the IP makes sense.

I'd rather blame the lazy devs who tell us of at least 17 legions, but can't bother to show us even a fraction of one.

Yay thanks!

Onager complete (wheels are dropped below the render in this shot but they are there) :)

Gotta do the normal maps next and then I'll TRY and get it into the game hehe.

Unfortunately, havok is NOT applied. I don't know for sure, but that is also not in an importer yet is it.

Probably baby steps, I'll try and get one piece of wood in with a texture and then I'll put it together :)

Looks fantastic. :) Havok can be applied well to static objects using the latest niftools exporter... worked on by Gundalf. Eyeball is becoming quite familiar with it. I look forward to seeing this in the game.
