Nobles young son being tied up: 'I trust you use velvet? I get such a rash when hemp gets wet.'
Thiefs Guild boss: 'Silence!'

Brilliant!

Just one tiny nitpick... mr. kidnapped's ear looks like it's coming out of his cheekbone. :P

Hi everyone, well i sort of have been trolling these forums for almost 3-4 years now and i think it is my time to finally contribute something.

Well this is my Hammerfellian, city. It doesnt really compare to some of the artwork around here but it is the idea i am trying to convey more than artistic prowess. I dont know what city it is..... Gilane Hegathe or Taneth would all work. Let me know what you think. I will pop by and post some more stuff that i do here and there.

PS. does anyone know how to get rid of that blue stuff that hangs arounds some areas of the picture?

Edit i guess i should mention that it is a cliff surounded by water, it might be obvious but on second glance i determined it might confuse some.

I think monsieur Fairwater has made something we could use for Rihad. Since the O cities are all small-size, this would be perfect as it's small and 'crowded'.

Pound, I bow.

What program are you using? You can fiddle around with Threshold and Levels. Here is a tutorial for the Gimp:

Okay, this one is a request more than anything, so don't laugh at the piece I threw together. It took me 5 minutes, it's like a "3d sketch."

Basically, the image I have for the town of Stonemoor is one of small, significant beauty in the landscape, surrounding a town that is in itself relatively insignificant.

First, what are you looking at? Well, it's simple. Off in the distance, you have the looming Corten Mountains. Since it's a relatively moist mountain range (Karnver Falls, etc) a waterfall or two will be tumbling down the southern face of the mountain, heading towards Stonemoor. This isn't a concept for the town itself, so I won't include many details for that. Now, in the foreground we have a large stone wall, influenced by the Great Mis Tor, found here:

The river will flow across the grassland from Corten Mont down to this Tor, snaking in between a few rocky Tors, like this one:

It won't be a huge flowing river, more of a ambling, bubbling stream. Then, when it finally hits the stone Tor at the end, it flows across the steep rock face in a multitude of tiny little waterfalls, to gather up in a boggy pond at the bottom. The whole bottom of this tor can be a pool of shallow water.

This is an image I've had in my mind since I first saw the picture of the Great Mis Tor. It would be a relatively simple few meshes, some landscape coordination, and then a huge pay-off in terms of how beautiful the results will be. There can be small bunches of grass sticking out of the rock faces and blowing in the wind, the soft trickling sound of water over rock, and the sound of frogs croaking/jumping around in the water. So, yeah. Draw it up nice and pretty, then I'll present it to Dexter and be all like "This is what Stonemoor should look like." :)

Something done within 30'. A Hammerfell beach or something. It's more of a practice in Photoshop coloring, so I might upload a better version if I keep practicing on this pic.

Enigma: While that is pretty nice and realistic, it's very generic. I'd suggest you add Masser and Secunda semi-transparent in the background. That should enhance it's relevance to Hammerfell.

Cool scumbago. Very art deco!

Editized: BTW, here is something I forgot about. I finished this ages ago but here it is. LN's concubabes in living color.

Now I wouldn't mind taking them out. :) Very nice work, Macar, and great proportion Lady N.

Scumbag: That is simply awesome. I love the odd, colourful style. Inspiring.

Harke: Looks great! If I could make a suggestion, could you blur out the hard pen/cil lines? Might appeal more.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH

Why oh why would you do that? WHHHHHHHYYYY!?!?!?!

Sorry but that is awful. Take that back right now. You started off really fantastic, a nice little village, good colour scheme if slightly too green. The tor-hilly things were perfect and the cliff, though a fantasy element from a geographically realistic point of view, fit very very nicely.

Then you put crappy foil christmas leaves around the bottom, put your sun thing in the corner, made stonemoor into a homoerotic model village, twisted the colours into the psychadelic range, and made the stones leopard print.

Lay off da hooch, mon.

I think Harke's colorizing is great, except, the town sucks. It should be removed completely. Thenit'd be great.

I wondered why it reminded me of homosexuality.

LN & Macar: The figures are perfect, just how I like anatomy :D and Macar, a beautiful paint job.

LN: Like this, Always a nice way to focus on skies is like that, and i think you've done it just fine, poster or watered down acrylic paints on paper (by the looks of it) isn't an easy method to utilise.

Scumbago: That is just, cool, it's indescribable. I just like ti a lot, the pastelly colours and everything, it would be a great style to develop upon for atmospherics. Great submission.

Harke: First one good, in fact really quite peaceful looking, and I like it a lot. Second version.... Well. There's a famous artist who designed wallpaper. William Morris. Looks kinda like you pasted a layer of wallpaper over your picture. I suppose you could call it interesting.

WB Gnomey, haven't seen you around in a while.

I have also had a shot at Eyeballs scene. Which I will grab from my dads tomorrow. And, Ali, that town seen is great. I like the more African influence.
I have alos strated working on my otehr submission. It's too greaphics, i want more realism. Like Sirwoot had pointed out about his ear, tehre are a few stupid things.

Wow, everyone here's got familiar with Photoshop but me! Gotta find time, gotta find time, gotta find time... Awesome promo work imo, everyone here has a very nice vision for Hammerfell and depicts it with precision. Love this progress.
