Well, part of the force comes from the fact that he is streched out like a baloon filled with water. Also, the illustration is an exaduration, it's not powerfull enough to knock anyone off thier feet. It's just like projectile vomiting. Well, maybe a little worse.

The idea actually is good, but i don't think the creature should be exactly as depicted, it looks too much like a real world dog... try putting some different features into it, like an fur pattern on its stomach that you see when it blows up, like the imprint on some butterflies backs...

It looks good, but it doesnt look like a desert creature to me. I mean it looks kinda some weird bloodhound (or some other loose wrinkly dog) And you wouldnt expect to see one wandering around in the desert.

Devotees of Satakal the Serpent God are strewn among them, historically causing the A'likr border-states no end of strife. These revered madmen depend entirely on the charity of the other Redguards, though sometimes they rise in perilous bands, terrorizing the countryside in old Ra Gada fashion. Many, as in Rihad, go nude, rolling around in the dirt and nipping at the legs of passersby, "striking out" as if they were snakes themselves, while others perform terrible exhibitions of "shedding their skin". They have been seen rolling in the desert sand sidewinder-fashion in continuous, hundred-mile stretches, from Balhar all the way to the Nohotogrha oasis.

These crazy dudes steep thier teeth in poison to make thier filed points deadly. They live in self imposed exile and wander the desert in search of the meaning of life, living like snakes. I could add a loincloth if necisary...

I don't think anyone can take that passage entirely at face value, but if there had to be an exceptionally devoute following they'd look like that sketch. :)

The fact that the guide says they're revered could mean that it is possible these men exist, they're just not the norm for all religious followers of Satakal. Like you said, they live in self-imposed exile. We could include these men in our mod.. but I think a few of the crazier things in that passage could be toned down to a more reasonable alternative.... things like slithering 100 miles through the desert, and biting people's ankles.

They could be wandering warrior monks who mutilate their bodies for religious reasons (shedding skin, filed teeth, ect)... and every so often they gather with other wanderers for satakal rebirth ceremony.
though sometimes they rise in perilous bands, terrorizing the countryside in old Ra Gada fashion.
I take 'terrorizing' to be a misunderstanding of the ceremony. Either that, or the ceremony could involve a sacrifice. I don't know much about the religion.

I invision these guys as a devoted sect that focuses on the destructive side of Satakal. I dont think it's out of the question for them to perform self torture acts (like rolling long distances through the desert).

There would be more moderate holy-men as well, ones who are a little more into sitting around and meditateing, and usualy wearing clothes. but the satakal destruction aspect clerics are kind of like india's sadhus in that they believe in self denial as the path to enlightenment.

I know some people take the PGE passage as exaduration, but I couldnt resist the though of these crazy dudes. I like the idea of men who imitate snakes and run around the desert naked.

What if the slithering like a snake for 100 miles at a time thing was for a special pilgrimage? Even in our world there are pilgrimages where people crawl for miles and miles, or stand, crouch, kneel, step, stand, crouch, kneel, step, repeatedly till they get to their holy place. The only problem is that in the game I think it will be next to impossible to make a slithering man, unless he's a whole new creature... even then it would be really tough and akward looking.

Yeah, I think it can be said that that is a special pilgrimage, and it dosent have to be one you ever actualy see.

These guys would have to be creatures, because I see them crawling around on the ground all the time, and also becuase thier bodies can be painted if they are NPCs. Besides, they have the mind of an animal anyway. Thier rituals drive them quite mad.

chanting the cursed text and gesturing sharply with his staff, Macar cast the blasphemous spell of forum necromacy (lv3)

So anyway, here's something I did this summer when you were all doing the WSG on the hammerfell navy. not much use- just atmospheric.

Shame on me! Instead of working on the WSG, I spent most of my time on this. It's pretty, but kind of useless.

Thanks dude. On the breast plate I just painted it grey and added highlights to make it look meataly then I used an "overlay" bush to add the refletions. I made up that technique :)

And, in a way I cannot guess, you actually make the surfaces seem "texturised". I really have no words to comment on the atmosphere of this piece. Simply awesome.

Maybe you could ask if it can be added to the Hammerfell Navy WSG? Or is this not the done thing?

It's done. I dont think there's any point adding it, though. I doubt anyone's going to look at that old WSG. It's just as likely to be seen in this thread.

I'll give this a little bump to help this along. :D Macar, I liked your idea with the sakatal worshipper, I liked it so much that I decided to change a MW skin. I did it from my memory of your concept, which seems to be a bad one now that I look at it again, but I still like it, and can't wait to transfer the files to my MW playing comp.

(Notice the teeth at the bottom right!

Anyway, I'd like your opinion on it's quality, and if it works or not. If enough people like it I think I'll do the rest of the body. :D

I know we're not. I don't have Oblivion, and I was reading up on Fisher's tutorial and decided to give it a try. It's really a personal project but, if it works, I'll be willing to send it over. :) Really I was just wondering whether it fit your concept. A bit.

This isnt a CA question- but I didnt want to start a new thread.

I have finaly uploaded and rotated and cropped my vacation photos from Saudi Arabia. They are mostly high resolution. Any suggestions as to how I should host these? Resizing them all would take a long time. And I think that they are too big for imageshack (1.20 mb on average).

Is there a good alternative?

They seem to upload to Imageshack just fine... I feel kind of dumb for asking that question before trying.

So expect a slew of photos from me soon.
