Show us your workspace!
Inspired by a casual comment by Macar, I thought it'd be interesting to see the nesting area of some of our TR patrons. The more current the image, the better. If you want, lable or explain what and why your pc work-area is as messy as we'd somehow expect.
Here's a starter to show what I mean:

That prop sword and helmet I whipped up just to gauge poses for drawing.. They're made of craft foam.
.. Why, yes, I do have a very childish desktop..

I took this picture about this time last year. Actually I think this was more like November because of the christmas pressies on the top part. Basically it hasn't changed much since then... There are still bottles everywhere (I keep a record of how many i can have in here at a time before my mother makes me throw them all away, current record is 32). My chair is still broken too. VCR still there, pencils and shit still there, presents are long gone obviously and now there are more books and a little green set of drawers I built a few years ago. It's usually this messy, once in a blue moon I get around to cleaning it.
Oh and it figures that Haplo's desk would be the neatest

No camera for me either. But picture a bed with an open laptop on it. An optical mouse and a numpad are connected to the laptop through USB cables. A big-ass Ethernet cables run from the computer to the door, pass below it, and probably connects to something on the other end. Who knows? Since our cable count is only three so far, add one that goes from the 'puter to the nearest power socket.
Now, puts a pillow folded in two in front of the laptop. Upon that pillow rests the chest of a lanky nerd slouching on the bed.
See, that's a picture that would have been worth much less than a thousand words.

Being the inspiration of this thread- it's unfortunate that I dont have a camera. I may borrow one!
Untill I can do so- here's the description: my tower is hidden behind the desk- so what you see are the little monitor (same as skittles') and the standard isue mouse keyboard and speakers. On my desk and around the room are little knicknacks- things from the middle east mostly. And then there's my little bookshelf- crowded with books on Mythology and art.
PS. It's all very tidy, exept for a large stack of papers which I always mean to deal with but never do!

I don't know if this counts as workspace or not, but this is one of my fun toys
I may post the URL to all my studio pics here in a day or two.
EDIT: I have rebuilt these speaker boxes since the photo, they were orginally used for DJ'ing

The reason I have a mac is because I am currently a mac game developer because I would like to see more games take advantage of such a great system
I also run a web hosting company, where I use FreeBSD servers, the compatibility between OSX and FreeBSD is also a huge advantage for me, but best of all, if I get really desperate my nice 24" core 2 duo imac can run Windows far better than 99% of PCs out there

wow. that's real basic.
an OLD posted note.
that is really awesome (i am being ironic absolutely no mocking manner)
garfield wants mac to have better games. though most all that know 'bout mac would agree 100%, microsoft wouldnt allow it in a gajillion years.
billy gates is the richest man in the world, and most havent even heard what mac is. or linux. or that one OS that BOEING uses
(BOEING is that one airplane company that makes those anoying giant mothers that fly over your house and make such a loud noise, they have this weird thingy on the tail of the plane and are labeled "KC-135"s.)
anoying!

except, bill gates doesn't have any input into microsoft anymore, he may still be the face, but he only owns about 30% of the company now.skittles wrote:

Well games like Quake 4, Civ 4, The Sims 2, World of Warcraft, etc are already on the mac, but those are well known mainstream games, I want to help the less mainstream, and more niche titles do well.skittles wrote:

Microsoft doesn't hate macs as much as you think, Microsoft Office is available for Mac, as is Windows Live Messenger amongst other lesser known titles, hell even Windows runs on a Mac.
To say no-ones heard of them would be silly, considering how popular iPod and iTunes are, as well as the fact that the Mac books are one of, if not the, most popular notebooks in the US.

i tried out my friend's $1000 mac,
damn those rock!
he got that windows/mac compatible thing that u can play windows stuff on macs and i showed him oblivion.
on a mac.
as far as quake 4, eh.....
it was different then any "id" games.
thing is, id software relies on "hell" and "demons" to scare people, but in quake 4, they were freakin aliens! nothin scary about it!
i liked the bordering process though.
bloody!

Well doom 3 is on it too, I mentioned Quake 4 because most critics felt it was a much better game, and its significantly newer than doom 3.skittles wrote:i tried out my friend's $1000 mac,

We've gone rather off topic from the subject, but I will just add Halo (thought by many as the best FPS ever) was originally created for the mac, until MS bought bungie and had them scrap the mac version and create a dumbed down version for the xbox

Macs never suck. 'Tis an oxymoron to say a Mac sucked.
They just aren't as cheap as PCs
