Halloween!

Post by Tyrion »

As you all know Halloween is just around the corner. Seeing lutemoth's dunmer get-up got me thinking about what I wanted to be this year.

Then I innevitably started this thread. A discussion of what new ways we will get people to give us sugary treats.

Also to brag that I'm gonna dress up as Link. You all know Link right? I made me a Deku shield and a green felt hat. I'm all ready for some halloween-ness. :D

This week is Homecoming week at school, ergo we dress up as stuff:

Monday - Roaring 20s day. (I was the Godfather)
Tuesday - Twin Day. (My best friend and I are going as the guy from the Tropical fruit starburst commercial)
Wednesday - Assailant Day (Our class was assigned G.I.'s)

Either of these sounds like fun. I'll probably pick from the Godfather or Rasta Hat white person.

I might try and make a set of High Ordinator (or maybe Vivec-Standard Ordinator) armor for next year.

What's scarrier than a "horrible little green elf man"? Anyway, can't Halloween go back to it's root? The day when people feared the actions of real witches, werewolves, and perhaps, yes, the occasional little green elf-man. And don't forget carved turnips. Mmmm...

I'm going to be a vampire most probably. But I'm beyond the age of going trick-or-treating now I think :P I just like to scare the kids that come to the door. If I'm home that is. Usually somebody hosts a big halloween party. :)

Or I could always go the same as last year:

I guess I'm old fashioned. I'm gonna invite some friends over and pass out candy and watch 1970's slasher films and my all time fav Hellraiser. Maybe go to an abandoned building or maybe a seance for spooks. There's a grove near here where witches were executed and buried. Good times. And if I have the money, go to Austin and pretend I'm in the game Vampire: Bloodlines with the rest of the pseudo vampires.

We don't have Halloween official in Romania, but we do have a lot of clubs organizing parties. I'll be at home as every year , online. The second day (November 1) is the "dead's day" in my country. All of us go to the cemeteries to bring flowers and light candels for our dead people.

I like halloween because I'm a born thesbian and I jump at any opportunity to dress up like someone I'm not. and BTW, dojo, I'm not sure what you mean by official. Technicaly it's not official in the US (ie. we still have work and school) but lots of people celebrate it. In fact, I saw an article on MSN that said that people might spend more money on Halloween this year than Christmas!

I can't dress up for Halloween, or I can but I coudl get stopped by the Police, cus there has been surge of crime, with halloween masks in halloween these past 4 years, not actually in ym area, so i think im fine, but I was too old 2 years ago anyway :D. Too old for trick or treating anyway, not for dressing up.

Up here in Canada, I overheard that already happened.. Something about spending jumping by 40% last year, and expected to reach higher this time 'round.

Either way, I'm from an area that take it a bit seriously.. Perhaps that, or only everyone I'm acqainted to makes exploit of the masquerade bit.

A good strategy is to turn up to all the houses 3 times in different costumes and bags. That way you get a hell of a lot more.
