Help with TES3CS.
Hi.
I haven't been on here for quite a while, mainly because of my connection to the internet. At one point when my connection is more secure I would like to try and become a TR modder.
Anyway, I can't find the files we use to change skins and models, - that is, the files of the skins and models themselves. I have looked inside the Construction Set Disc, and theyre not there.
Can anyone help me please?

Anywhere. But make sure you put it in its own directory so you have a clean place to work.
I keep all my mods and TR work in a H:\files\TES directory. Then I have a "TR" folder and a "Tools" folder, also a "Tools\bsapack" for extracting BSAs.
I have other tools like:
TESAME
TESDTK
TES4Plugin
TES IV Save Manager
The first three are very useful to moding. I use the fourth with OBMM to manage my characters and plugins.

You'll probably want some other tools that help with manipulating the sort of files Morrowind uses, such as DDS files (for textures) and NIF files (for models/meshes).
I only did CS work for TES3. But you might try these links, NIFSkope I find particularly useful, not sure if it works for TES3 unfortunately...:
http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/NifSkope
http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/DDS_Tools
There shouldn't be much of a problem, at least I don't think so anyway, because both games seem to use the same formats. If you use GIMP, there is also a DDS plugin here.

You can find 30-day trials of Max 7 and 8 on the web, I think Autodesk has a trial for 9 (if it's been released yet, if not, the trial is still for 8) on their website. Or you can buy it retail for about $3,200. Or get a student discount if you can and pay only about $300-$900.
While you can just continually download the 30 day trials, it's much better/easier to simply buy it (or an older version; 5, 6, or 7.), or stick with Maya/Blender. Blender and 3DS Max are the two most common/popular/supported modelling programs for TES.

hmm. your best bet would be blender (if you fancy a real challenge that is!) otherwise, maya is gonna cost you upwards of £3000 to buy. yes, i did say Three Thousand

Let's not talk about illegal activities, since they are illegal, and we do not tolerate the use, mention, or further discussion of warez or pirated software on the forums or IRC channel.
Thanks.
