Technical question on Blender.
Hi.
I have downloaded Blender 2.42a.
Do I need an importer to get my .Nif's into this program to mod them?
Also; How do I open my .Nif's with Blender?

Yes, you have to install python first of all. You can download it from here: http://www.python.org/download/
Remember to choose the version which platform you're on (Unix\Windows). The newest one is 2.5.
Then you have to check Niftools for blender's nif scrips. Link: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=149157
Hope that helps.

Ok thanks.
Is the most conventional way to mod (change the shape of a mesh) to change a loaded .nif and save it as a new file?
I have gotten to a point on Blender where I must import the Blender scripts, im at this point where ive got

What do I do here to activate my Blender scripts for .nif?

Ok so, Im wanting to import a .nif file to mod, for example .... a_bonemold_greaves_g (NetImmerse/Gamebryo file)
So I want to open that file in Blender, mod it, then save it as a new file, to export into the game somehow which I will learn later.
The furthest Ive got to doing this is:
Im on a page that looks like this:
Scripts Configuration Editor
Key: "nif_import"
seams import (there two boxes below here to type things in)
textures dir: -----------------------------
import dir: -----------------------------
Help Back Exit Revert Apply Delete File
Q or Esc to return
