We have planned changed to the main page, however, Webmaster and super cool guy Amrod has been very busy with RL, so that has somewhat slowed.
We actually have planned out new graphics, a more stream-lined layout, and various other things, IIRC. But for now, the forums are the place to be, and they run fine. Or fine enough. Or something.

My apologies. Indeed, go right ahead if it suits your fancy. However, know that there would be no guarantee of it being used. Of course, I've stopped working on the MW side of things since OB came out, so I don't really know either.
