I'll have an Architecture, a Weapon/Armor and a Clutter thread up in the near future, as more concept art flows in.

I don't work for anybody.
Also don't be confused. I have 1 of my own mods in progress. Since I have also been collaborating with a modeler called necron on another mod. and have made various misc objects/weapons ect and a nord long ship for Skyrim. I work purely as freelance and wish to have no responsibilities in these larger mods. I just make models because they are the ones I want to make.
however.....
I may do a big juicey whole suit of armor from the concept art I have been eyeing up for months. http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/8959/serpentine2zc.th.jpg
and I likey these too

Well, since the question was asked. Why did I even join the project? well you see when I joined I was trying to learn to model. I thought it maybe wise to join a modding forum. Perhaps I would be able to acquire the knowledge and get a few tid bits of info. And encouragement hear and there. It seemed logical. At the time I didn't actually know if anything I would make would be of any use.

I see....... Lol. I try to avoid metalalics. Never could paint them well.
Its almost done now, modeled and UVed. aside from some basic texturing. I may have some time to try out a metalic/ golden scheme on it.
I have some UVmaps if anyone can paint metal work worth a damn.....they are welcomed to try . Might be better than my future attempt.

I think I have a good idea for the texture.
Basically it is indoril.
Which is high qlty bonemold, A prestigious armor in its own right. But inlayed and gilded with gold trim.
Well thats the hard part over with. understanding the material, how it's made, who's it for and its function are essential perquisites before I can move further.
Its a really clean mesh. so it'll be a cinch to rig. I am really getting this armor thing down.
What about the pauldrons or lack of? Maybe beef them up abit?
edit: if there is are loads of those snake designs and motifs hanging about. I would like a load of them to scribe into the armor. Borders a are most needed. I am being uber lazy and not drawing them myself lol

Who doesn't would be a better question, Awesome! (in the true "Awe inspiring" sence of the word) Though bonemold is Dunmeri through and through (as far as i am aware - correct me if i'm wrong though), Some kind of metalwork seems muchmore apt to me - a tarnished looking one preferably. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your stuff!Ghogiel wrote:...who wants to touch it?

Well, I forgot what the right name is, but by Lutemoth's concept art she drew some. I'm guessing that something is added to it to make it stronger or something, like steel is often added to iron weapons to strengthen them, and vise-versa.
Edit:
This seems fitting to the high-quality armour, though as I said putting gold over ceramic seems rather strange. The perfect thing for a symbol of status, medium to heavy by the sound of it.
Edit:
Hmm, rather long, I hope you don't mind, I didn't want everyone to start a wild search over Lutemoth's huge concept art page.In case you don't recall, I'll detail the concept:
Redguard smiths are well adept at forging alloys and metals through heated clays. This process makes much of their swords, which makes both a flexable and sturdy blade. The ceramic armor, however, is something of an entirely different process from conventional metal. A guarded list of ground ingredients (very much similar to the items that make fine china, hence the name), which are often easier to aquire than mountain ores, make this armour. Many repeated steps of heating and additional ingredients are made included over time during forging, until the end result is a glass-like, opaque white plate armour. This forging is very special, as it cannot be shaped after cooling. Many remark on it's ornate painted glaze, and it's similarity to glass armour, but it is certainly heavier than light glass. To free movement, chain mail is equipped under the shirt, rather than greaves and rerebraces

K....so bonemold is dunmer. Didn't really cross my mind that.
I actually want or rather need to have a discussion on the armors material. It will not go any further untill It works in my head.
I kinda like the ceramic idea. but even a lacquered metal like Japanese and samurai armor would work on it.
Someone can open a thread to discuss this armors materials would be cool. As long as there is something everyone agrees on then I can give it a shot.

i dont mind texturing. its putting new objects in game that i deem the most hellish of acts (cause i still havent goten a single one of my models to work properly)
if the UV map is good, texturing should be rather easy

No way! putting weapons and armor in game takes 10mins.
statics are pretty much the same. I guess creatures is a fraction more complicated than armor. and architecture well....I have avoided that so far.
anyway. UV maps. They could be better.....I have been trying to do my homework lately on them. Mine are accurate enough. But they're not that easy to paint though. There is some skills left to learn.
