Cyricus' Showcase ~

Post by Cyricus »

He-he, I'm actually new on this forum, and an old fan of TES series. Still I have 2 type of 'creativities' in my mind:

1) Music ~ I have band, but instead of it I like creating (medieval & fantasy related) ambiental music on my keys, piano, and with my misty vocals* (^_^), and dispose myself of few friends - musicians (I could use flute*, acoustic guitar or/and female vocal).

2) Short Stories ~ For Morrowind books. I have experiences with that, because I'm writing fantasy stories/romans ('Sons of Errias', 'Vine of the Citadel', 'West-dúsurian Chronicles') but also songs with fantasy / myth / old traditional thematic. Too bad they're not on english, only on croatian. But I'd like to write a story, and then my friend (translating into english is her work) would translate it.

*Check it on my two band-songs down here; but also I have plans for making Tamriel-related ambiental songs ('Wilderness of Solstheim', 'Sotha Sil's Plans', and now some for this project of course). Here are two tracks copyrighted by my band Slavogorje. Please download them, and comment this style I'd also use for TR-related music stuff. Soon - more songs.

Cool, I'm sure Orix and Macar will enjoy this. Macar, our in-house Head of All Things Melodic, is in Saudi Arabia right now, but he'll be back soon.

I'd recommend PutFile for your music, though.

Welcome to TR. :D

I would also recommend www.putfile.com for your audio. How do I listen to them at megauploads? I cannot find a 'play' button or anything indicative of such.

I can't find one at putfile, either.

You can't preview or "view" things on megaupload. And it's pretty dodgy, loads of people get spyware and crapware, and all the other wares - that are bad.

Please use Putfile or at least something we don't have to download from. :D

Hi, I noticed you posted some music, the music man is out right now, and I am the only other composer that is somewhat active right now, I will download your music and check it out. I just wanted to let you know that someone has noticed your work.

I do apologize though, with Macar gone, I never have even thought to check the showcase, sorry.

Thanks, and welcome to the forum.

EDIT: I agree, you do need to get a putfile account, anything else is just really a pain. Just an FYI anyway, because when Macar gets back..he'll tell you the same thing...again :)

As for song one, the wind effect is WAY too loud thus making the song sound like real crap. I couldn't really even get the feel of the song.

As for the second one, it has a great amount of potential. I think it could use a bit more of a string line in there as well, may I suggest revising this one, and perhaps building upon it.

And for the third one, it almost lets you down after hearing the second, and can use a WHOLE lot more. It too has potential, but will need some work.

I did noticed that you were playing the music live, which is what I do, somewhat, but I will tell you what Macar told me about performing live, you have to play perfect, every time or you will have to re-record, and by perfect I mean, correct notation, timing needs to be on, etc. Perhaps you can look into midi or a way to compose on the computer to help with timing issues and stuff. I use midi a lot, because it still allows me to perform live if I desire, but I can go back in and change the timing issues and notation issues if there are any.

The music has potential. You just need to work on creating more moving full pieces.

I very much like the second one. It does have potential and very good atmosphere. The wind instruments in particular was well performed. Gesshoku is right though.. one really has to nail the live recording.

Keep up the good work.
