TES3 Dres architecture?

TES3 Dres architecture?
would anyone happen to have and be willing to share the TES3 TR's Dres architecture?
The Black marsh mod would greatly appreciate it as we are on the southern border of Morrowind.
If someone could show me who the creator is I would love to ask the person for the use, and permission to change them slightly so to look nice in TES4 Oblivion. Credit will definitely be given.
Thanks

Ah, the Dres architecture. It's a little tragedy.
In the beginning was an exterior architecture set, that was never included in OoT and only shared by the few, the proud, that had a map6 claim.
In the beginning wasn't a matching interior tileset. And the exterior set was flawed in many aspects, from what I've gathered.
In the Second Age, Vernon (IIRC) remade it all from scratch, as well as many furniture items and stuff. Again, this was never shared, so a hard drive failure decided to enter the party. The redone meshes were all lost.
Now comes the third era. The two-and-a-half people who have the exterior set want it to die, the map is overrun by a legion of yellowbangs, and it is decided to redo all Dres cities with the Velothi set.
In short, I don't think you'll get to use these meshes, and I'm not even sure if they still exist anywhere anyway. (Ah, if only RedWoodTreeSprite had been a TR modder back in the days...)

Vernon only had WIPs, but yeah, they were shared but never really even completed.Gez wrote: In the Second Age, Vernon (IIRC) remade it all from scratch, as well as many furniture items and stuff. If you want TES3: Black Marsh to be of high quality, I suggest you not use them, as while I personally thought they looked really cool, they're definitely not very lore-friendly (they're kind of... space-ship-looking). Also, As it's undergone so many revisions and none of them made it out of the WIP stage, we're not really at liberty to say yea or nay. :-/Gez wrote: In short, I don't think you'll get to use these meshes, and I'm not even sure if they still exist anywhere anyway.)

Possibly. But most TR modelers seem to be busy with modeling for Oblivion as there is more work and new opportunities for them. I am afraid we will have to finish Morrowind with what models we have (but there is still lot of untaped potential in Velothi set as I believe).
Personally I am looking forward to rebuilding some of the Dres cities using Velothi and trying to keep the original layout as much as possible.

THEO
I might be able to work on this, since I'm not working on any modeling for Oblivion. However, I'm still relatively a novice at modeling, so I can't guarantee anything I turn out will be anything but abominable. But I can try. I'd wanna see at least screenshots of the old models. Hope I can help.

Is there any concept art still around? I for one, am not modelling right now because apparently there is a hold on new models for TES3. Like the Neenja, I can't even play, much less mod, TES4. We have plenty of time before Map6 is ready for detailing... Whar I'm saying is, let us work on it. Please! Please!

there was never any concept art for it. also, since most cities have alredy been redone in velothy, its a fuetile and useless effort. modeling for tes4 is the same as for tes3, so you can always do that.

old tr files are just that, OLD. and because they are old they are obsolete. and because they are obsolete we wont be using them. and because we wont be using them there is no point in having them.
ill upload the files in the same thread as narsis for "i want to look at em" and "i need them to test" purposes, but they are to be in no way, shape or form to be used for modding. if i hear a single "but why cant we use them?" i will take them down, end of discusion.
there has been too much discusion about this long desided topic alredy.

From the screenshots of map6... I must say that the architecture is great looking... except for the towers... which look like they'd collapse in a matter of seconds under the weight of the top half and they are too thin to climb making them useless for the purpose of towers.
Does the TES:III architecture follow standard sizes? Meaning, if I just told the CS to use hlaalu models instead or some other architecture, would the towns still line up right? Would the buildings be rotated properly? I know I'd have to go in and at least change all the windows, doors, and various decorations to fit the new exterior, but would the town's layout need to be completely changed? Would the wall pieces or bridge peices still tile properly?
Could someone just post better pictures in-game or in-CS of each of the buildings? someone might be able to replicate something with a similar feel, but I can't really get a good view of some buildings in the screenshots on the main page. Specifically the domish building thats in a few shots. Its near the middle of this one: http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/?picture=Rithrin_Plantation_02.jpg&p=screenshots&gallery=6. I'd love a frontal view of it. Like close up. Also, anyone have any pics of vernon's models?

What? and the Dunmer Rich Medium set isn't? no offence to whoever made those, but they really doesn't match the rest of the dunmeri furnitureLady Nerevar wrote:old tr files are just that, OLD. and because they are old they are obsolete. and because they are obsolete we wont be using them. and because we wont be using them there is no point in having them.

see? this is what i was talking about. the TR dres set does not look dunmer, it looks sci-fi. the set also sufferes from numerous mesh errors. fixing and expanding it was considered a waste of time by the core then (maker included iirc), and we still hold to that decision. many dres cities have since been redone in a different set. the decision is final.

The cities have already been redone. This was decided years ago. Velothi = the dres tileset. Our old Dres models look too alien to actually be used. The _de_rm furniture may look a little bit off, but at least it doesn't look like it came from mars.
