Will post up more later, but just thought I'd note that Mouth Quests are up. (q1-65 is broken, and I don't think there's anything I can do about it, I'll see if it can be deleted)

Will be back to full activity soon :)

Based on our long IRC discussion last night I've drawn up the Eldale side of the Bal Gernak - Eldale conflict. I've put it together with Lud's Bal Gernak side of things, and my Direnni quest for Eldale (which is moved to after this line). So some of this will be familiar, some new.

Feedback welcome.

Sorry for not updating this in a while, but I've been stuck in a rut as far as quest planning goes. However, I've got a plan for dealing with Master Mithras now. Feedback welcome.

Hmm, I'm worried that Mithras comes off as too competent in this questline. I just can't imagine Mithras managing to outwit Rathra so easily. He only manages to do so in the MQ by getting the player to steal something while she's busy. Performing a ritual to take most of her power away seems a bit overboard to me.
Thoughts?

I agree, Rathra should not be undermined so directly by Mithras, IMHO.

Well Mithras is competent... I thought that was the whole point of writing this; to gain his support (or push him over) WITHOUT having him look incompetent. No Telvanni councilor on Map 1/2 should appear less than terrific and that includes Mithras. They can make mistakes (and several do), but they should always be in the game; and yes even Rathra should be vulnerable to her own hubris (which is how I imagine Mithras' exploiting).

There are no details yet, and it won't be easy, but that ritual, whatever it does to Rathra should be reversible, I would put Mithras in the pool as one of maybe 6 or 7 NPC's who would have some idea as to how to do this (after all he can fool her in the MQ, so he can fool her now). He is no match for her in terms of raw power, but it's silly to believe another councilor might not have some ideas about how to undo what Rathra has done.

@Haplo: How can working to secretly undermine a hated rival's power be out of character for a Telvanni Lord?

A ritual to strip Rathras power? What is this? Charmed? Will we need the power of three to do this? :P

I will have to say that it seems a bit odd for a game like Morrowind.

Well even stripped of her gains made in the MQ (as far as her power goes) she would be the most powerful councilor and enjoy the most political influence. Right now she is so far in the lead she need not heed anything (besides perhaps a major Imperial resurgence). Mithras wants to bring her down to his level (or at least within an order of magnitude of his level). He already knows about the ritual and she is his number one enemy. He has to realize that the biggest threat he personally faces is an unchecked Rathra, and if he doesn't make it a major priority to check her, he's going to be in serious trouble. I just can't see him not trying to respond to this threat, and it's my opinion that there should be a way to undo the personal magical power Rathra gains from her ritual in the MQ.

Mah bad, I misread a part of the .doc. I think it's golden after re-reading it.

An overview of progression in House Telvanni:

Key:
Blue line- possible route to get to that place.
Red line- essential prerequisite to do that quest
Black line- different endings within a quest
Underlined- one of the conditions for getting onto the Council
*- quest that needs to be written

I'll post up a newer version too, with more info and the quests that aren't on this one. (The ones excluded are ones that don't affect later quests)

As for master Vaerin, I am putting together major questline for map 2 which resolves around conflict between Imperial Archaeological society and Scavengers uncovering a tomb of legendary Dwemer king (must not be Dumac if it would be a lore-kill) in Kemel-Ze.

I thought there could be a conflict between Vaerin and mistress of Tel Muthada (I don't know if she already has name and personality yet, but I thought she could be prodigal and decadent person not worrying about science, politics or art, just spending a HUGE amount of money on eccentric parties and entertainments).
She controls Kemel-Ze, but is ignorant of its importance and only wants to get the profits from renting it to IAS so that they could do their excavations and she could cover her huge expenses.
However her representative at Marog despises her and plots to improve his rank in Telvanni and prepares plot how master Vaerin could seize the control of Kemel-Ze. (He would close it to impertinent outlander immediately, and made sure no more outrageous inventions of those impious Dwemer would ever got on the earth-light from that forsaken ruin.)

Other then those struggles Telvanni would not have their own questline in Kemel-Ze conflict.

What do you think? Is it worth working out?

This seems not unreasonable to me. The woman at Tel Muthada (her name escapes me right now) is certainly not the scholarly type. She is however not decadent, she tends to be brutal and direct (no subtlety). She cares little for genuine research but is not a neophyte when it comes to the use of magic (particularly Destruction type spells). She certainly wouldn't consider Kemel-Ze important. Also Darconis should not be part of this plot, aside from perhaps the IAS building there.

Alas, there will be opportunity to add decadent nobles when doing quests for house Hlaalu. Ok, I will put together few ideas and then everybody can discuss on them here...

I thought that Vaerin already was involved in a temple quest which (I think) would end in getting his support. Meh, I don't feel like searching this whole thread for it at the moment.

There is nothing specific ever made involving the conflict with the Temple (Vaerin does hate them, but that doesn't mean it has to be his major quest line).

The master of Marog, not the mistress of Tel Muthada, controls Kemel'Ze.

I can't remember if either of them has received a personality yet.

There is no tower at Marog as I recall. But if I'm wrong that is certainly true.

Well that is odd because there have been plotlines of the master of Marog and the IAS in Kemel'Ze as far back as I can remember at TR. Seems a shame to scrap them.

Marog is village and it is stated in lore (ruins of Kemel-Ze) so no wizard tower. The ruins are controlled by Tel Muthada's mistress representative living at Marog. It is location of the guards, there is no reason why Telvanni master should oversee ruin himself, she has people for it. There is no wizard tower in Sadas Plantation neither etc.

Kinda like a Redoran Hetman just for Telvanni then?

And the Ruins of Kemel-Ze book seem to state that the area have quite a strong temple influence to

The Sadas Plantation for all intents and purposes has a tower, it's just mostly Velothi Style (it's one of the larger interiors on Map 1). Also note that Tel Muthada has no Master the rank of the lady in charge is only Wizard (one below Councilor levels). The only Masters are at Port Telvannis, Tel Oren, Tel Ouada, Gah Sadrith, Ranyon Ruhn, and Alt Bosara. The other locations, even those with towers, don't have councilors.

Alt'Bosara? I thought Vaerin was at Darconis.
Imagine my insult to find that "Raw Glass has no effect on you." I became very huffy at the implication that my intelligence could not be lowered further. Then again, I did just eat a piece of glass.

Nerrusa is the Lord of Darconis. He is now mad, and lost his council seat (we may change this story; he may have never had a council seat).

Master Vaerin is the Lord of Alt Bosara.
Wizard Llenari Telsaran is the Lady of Tel Muthada.

Can we get back to Marog and Kemel'Ze. I don't see any reason why we can't build a Telvani tower and add a wizard there. I mean one look at the city would imply the need for some powerful wizard to help with all that.

Marog actually has a tower (and strangely now that I see it I know I reviewed it once as a reviewer). The exterior was made, but the interior got lopped off and is not all that it could be (well it doesn't connect as well as it should).

Lord Athyrion is in charge of Marog. The tower is called Tel Onoria. The interior of Tel Ornoria should connect to one of the two cells named Lord Athyrion's Chambers (it doesn't which is a real drag). Also it should be made possible to get to the top of Marog's tower through the interior of Tel Ornoria (via one of Lord Athyrion's chambers). The Non-nonsensical basement is still present as well (the tower is on a great pillar of rock; it's one of the coolest sites in all of Map 1 and 2).

In any event the existence of Tel Ornoria prohibits Tel Muthada's control over the Kemel-Ze.

Umm, wouldn't Vaerin steam roll any competition? Athyron and Telsaran are capable mages, no doubt, but Vaerin is a Master, standing in his way is suicidal. What would stay his hand?

Well, perhaps he was not interested in Kemel-Ze and considered it to be a mere junkyard full of useless Dwemer stuff worth only of petty income of IAS rent.
Now as the tomb of the king has been discovered, he wouldn't like (for some reasons - connected more with dark history and Vaerims connection to it) it to be discovered. So this is why he not only wants to grasp Kemel-Ze from Llenari Telsaran, but also to shut it for everybody.
But yes, Llenari Telsaran would need at least some other Telvanni wizard on her side, so that there was greater opposition to her. Perhaps mistress Rathra could be interested in the excavations as well.

Ironwood nuts from skyrim. Easy to model. They are very very rare in Oblivion...only present in one Mages Guild basement if I recall, and nowhere else.
