daedric tattoo !

Post by sapien »

Yes i know you may think it seems a bit crazy but im tired of seeing people with tattoos in kanji script or chinese script , and so i was thinking of being unconventional and getting a tattoo in daedric script

only thing is im trying to decide what to get as a tattoo you know what to get written , although ill come to a decision , it would be nice to have a tattoo thats different from the norm.

Do any of you know anyone with a daedric tattoo?

I suppose you dont see anyone running around with a Daedric tattoo because it is from a game series. People have LOTR tattoos but those are books and movies and have been around for 50, 60 years. The Elder Scrolls do not have that kind of audience and is not that popular yet. Altho once, in the beautiful future. One day.

But dude, get a Daedric tattoo, you'll know it's uique because noone else has it, and it looks cool.

Why not have it say "Tamriel". Or, you could just get your own name. Or your initials, girlfriend's, mother's, favorite pet's, Most beloved character... :)

Personally I'm going for some classical mongolian:

But whatever you want! Good luck. Why not get it really small and discrete, so if you don't like it, its no big deal.

Why don't we tatoo our avatars as well? But I agree that Daedric font would be cool for this sort of thing. It's only that tatoos aren't the kind of thing you'd want to have on your body after 3-5 years, when you'll be a different person. Trust me, 'coz I've been stupid enough to do it.

Not to be the party-pooper, but I don't think you can get a tattoo in an exotic script and be unconventional, no matter what that exotic script may be...

For originality with symbols, try something like a logical proposition.

I'd trust my own judgement if I where you, but I'd walk around with the tattoo design painted on my arm for three months before I decided to have it. There are lots of useful sites with good advice on the interweb, so just look around.
PS: I don't mean those sites that tell you to cut your ears with serrated shears, or to pierce your ears with safety pins.

I do kind of agree. You like daedric now. When you're 50, you'll be saying "WTF was I thinking?".

Then again, you may think "Why did I never have the guts to do what I wanted?".

Though Dex is probably mostly right, I think if someone got a tattoo that was in the form of a quantum physics equation, that would manage to be pretty damn unconventional.

It's not so much to be unconventional, more just because its a thing of beauty.

Some russian was also an option.

And I haven't decided what to have, but most likely some pithy little phrase.

I think if you're going for something that is beautiful, you need to huck your ideas of script out the window. Find an artist and ask them to draw you some concepts for a linear-based tattoo, with emphasis on the fluid of movement. Beauty in art is much easier to achieve when we aren't hindered by silly things like sets of symbols.

The good thing about having the tattoo in a lost/madeup language is that it can mean different things to different people. For example, if a hot girl asks about it, you can tell her it says "Can I have your number?", but if somebody you dislike asks, you can tell them it says "Fuck off".

And it would definitely be a conversation piece.

Don't forget a "Charm" scroll :)

I think if you like the script then it's a good idea - people get all kinds of tattoos just because they like the look - why does it have to be something that is regarded as "cool/aceptable" by everyone else.

I think you should do it if you have a good idea of how you want it to look - that said, I'd recommend you get it in a small "font" as big Deadric letters could look a bit tacky... Look at some of the Temple artwork in Morrowind - some of those would make really nice tattoos...Yes, I've considered one.

If you're unsure of a good word to put into daedric script why not go with the classic "AVS" shown here:

Get the entire Azura intro! Or at least this part: "You have been taken from the Imperial City's prison, first by carriage, and now by boat, to the east, to Morrowind." Just make the font small.

For some reason that makes me think of bumper stickers... Temple imagery and scrawling does seem rather fitting when it comes to tattoos. Or you could just go with the painted faces of some dunmer. :P

If all else fails- try some Telvanni Bug musk. "I dont like the Telvanni, but even humans love the musk!"

And I can tell you what Jales tatoo will not say... Egg :P

I was just wondering i read in the imperial library that most people in tamriel dont right from right to left , but instead right in cluster form , how then would that work , can anyone give me an example as i want to remain as true to the lore as possible !

im also thinking of doing something similar to the tatto that that charachter has on her back in the morrowind art !

or maybe some of the ink styles that lutemoth has done !

You should probably ask on the Official Forums, as TIL doesn't have that information IIRC.

I think that's mainly for the look (aesthetics) - That'd make a pretty nice tattoo though - maybe add a little colour into it aswell?
