I am attempting to do some testing of the quests in "TR_Map1Q_v0.12.esp". However, in order to do so without insane lag via doubling, I have to disable TR_Map1.esm.

Morrowind, however, seems to have developed a dependancy on TR_Map1, and crashes when I load without it. How would I go about fixing this?

Alternatively, is there any other way for me to access the quests that would not require me to remove TR_Map1?

Morrowind is an esm. It shouldn't develop dependencies. Do you have other mods running that might have dependencies on map 1, such as those in your showcase perhaps?
Imagine my insult to find that "Raw Glass has no effect on you." I became very huffy at the implication that my intelligence could not be lowered further. Then again, I did just eat a piece of glass.

I shall check for that. That would be the logical thing to do. Can't believe I didn't consider that. ;)

Do you have Wrye Mash installed? If you do, it's very simple to start by making a backup copy of TR_Map1.esm, then copy "TR_Map1Q_v0.12.esp" as ESM (something you can also do with the TES DTK and with the Enchanted Editor, it's just that Mash's interface is more convenient IMHO), and rename it as your new TR_Map1.esm.

Mash can also let you change the dependencies of mods and savegames from TR_Map1.esm to TR_Map1Q_v0.12.esp if so you want. But it's more work than just replacing the master file.

Don't worry, it's all under control now.

BTW, where should I report findings? I have PMed Ludovic, but he hasn't been on yet today.

I am going to report other generic errors I've found in their relevant threads, but where should my quest related stuff go?

We have a big thread for internal bug report, but it's mostly filled by obsolete bugs from previous versions of the map, so I decided it was as well to just create a new thread dedicated to quest problems. here.

The TR Data download posted at the beginning of this thread is a corrupted .rar archive. I downloaded it a few times to be sure.

There is a .tar.gz file for TR_Data in the OoT Browser and the Downloads page of the website for download. (It's 21 MB, so it'll download a lot faster) It's also not corrupted.

Thats the file I was talking about Haplo. It is linked at the top of the thread.

That file is corrupt every time I download it. I've never had problems in the past with TR downloads. And I've opened .tar.gz archives in WinRar many time. Can somebody else try it?

Ah, I thought you were talking about Gez' files... I'll try downloading it now from TR.

EDIT - yep, it's corrupted. I'll try repackaging it again as soon as I can.

So how goes the reuploading of this? Would be nice to test those quests, even though a certain crustacean seems to have rooted out most of the bugs already : /

Haplo's post is quite old, as far as i know everything has been re - uploaded time ago. Just download the .esp that you see here, and enjoy the betatesting.

I'm sure that you will find bugs that Crustacean has missed, and vice - versa; for this reason, there are more than only one playtester. :)

Umm, what's going on here?
I uploaded a new version of map1 (v0.17) just the other day, complete with a whole rake of new quests, only to find that my attachment has disappeared. I was hoping to let people play around with this new map over the weekend, but it will have to wait until Monday, as I'll be going away for the weekend.

I was wondering where it went, actually. Are you positive it was there to begin with? If you can PM it to me or email it to me I can upload it to the FTP.

So this new file comes with more quests than the first one i have downloaded, right? Ok, will download it, test the new stuff and post my usual reports as soon as possible (though as Ludovic i will be away for this week - end).

For the moment, have a look at what i have already posted ;)(Follow my signature).

Do you guys want me to test this lot, or should I leave the new quest testing to Osiris and Xeth, whilst I focus on quest creating?

EDIT: Also, just out of interest, does the latest upload include the fixes that Osiris, Xeth and I suggested, or are those quests still the same.

Also, when (or if :P) bugs are found in my Mouth quests, when do I fix them? (And where do I send those fixes)

I personally haven't fixed anything yet. As to your first query, I'd say focus on quest-making until you either have nothing to do or don't feel like doing it, and then test... Let the testers-only get the first run.

Yes, according to groza i think that leave the new quest testing to the only - tester persons would be better now (so you can focus on quest making), though your help is still useful and always very welcome from us, since we aren't so good as you in talking in scripting and dialogue language. ;)

Oh and don't worry if i will disappear for some days: due to work i can't be online everyday now, but i'm keep on testing, so my reports for every quest will be posted for sure. :)

Perhaps it would be a good idea to state the location of some of the misc quests? how am i supposed to know where to find some naked nord or the mosslog quest?

There are "two" naked nord quests; one of them is on the road between Bal Oyra and Firewatch but it's going to be removed and put on a later map if it hasn't been already. The other is on the road between Port Telvannis and Sadas Plantation.
Kill the messenger is between Bal Oyra and Firewatch. That's one reason why the naked nord quest is being moved.
Mudlap can be found for the mosslog quest on the beach south of the Boethian lighthouse (pretty close to Aranyon Pass)

Can Xeth-ban not see quest reviewing? If he could he could get the readme's for the quests (and thus know where they are located and what is supposed to occur). It makes no sense for them (the read-me's) to be hidden from the testers.

I am now working on version 21 with the most recent version of GS quests and dialogue (Mistress Eldale had some illogical responses about herself and rumours were not actualized during your progress with quests).
The quests in version 20 are functional, but contain logical shortcomings. Please have patience with me, the lost fiancee has about 6 endings and this is a price for such complexity. But now I am sure there will be no chance to get illogical results. This is current scheme worked on:

1aa) Find Melie by accident without investigation, save her and receive reward from Mjording. (Mjording and Melie go away. Fernil Yantus mysteriously disappears and Ilwen knows nothing)
1ab) Find Melie by accident without investigation, save her, but kill Mjording in meanwhile. (You are cursed and Melie goes away. Fernil Yantus disappears and Ilwen knows nothing.)
1bx) Find Melie by accident without investigation, kill her. (Mjording curses you and goes away. Fernil Yantus and Ilwen deny knowing about anything, but are hostile and suspicious.)

2aa) Investigate, find Melie, save her. (You are rewarded and Mjording and Melie go away. So does Eranil and Arelis Lloran rewarding you. Fernil Yantus and Ilwen are killed)
2ab) Investigate, find Melie, save her, but Mjording dies meanwhile. (You are rewarded symbolically and Melie goes away. So does Eranil and Arelis Lloran rewarding you. Fernil Yantus and Ilwen are killed)
2bx) Investigate, find Melie, kill her and speak to Ilwen
(Fernil Yantus is killed, Mjording curses you and goes away, Eranil and Arelis Lloran is killed, Ilwen rewards you and disappears).

0) Kill one of crucial characters before finishing the quest.
