To learn how to make new models for OB takes alot of work, you can't just decide "oh I'm going to make a new set of armor" It's hardcore artwork.

Heard of 3D studio Max? That's the best program to use, but its also the hardest to learn. Not something you pick up and master in a weekend. I've been making and editing models in 3dsmax for the better part of 3 years. And I still feel like a total n00b.

But its seriously expensive. Blender on the other hand, is free. I tried it, but coming from max, I found it unintuitive.

Not being familiar with how its all made, try starting out doing some retextures of existing meshes :)

Good Man! I myself am developing my skills in Blender. I'll warn you, it's tough. I've been working with it for about, say, seven months. I feel fairly comfortable working the interface, although I still have no clue as to animations, or nearly anything except modeling. I'm really gonna work on that stuff this summer. If you want, I would suggest getting the book Introducing Character Animation with Blender by Tony Mullen. It's not specifically about game modeling, but I find it helped me extremely. I'm not even done, yet, and I felt my skills get much better. Anyways, good luck.
