Vampire/necromancer race

Helo evryone, I`m kind of new to this project so I just wanted to ask about an old ideea of mine concerning the developing of a vampire/ necromancer race, I`ve already start building some models interior/exterior but I thought asking before finishing this..


it isn`t exactly a race meant to be played, it`s rather like a guild, a faction with it`s own architecture, mind and hystory, like hlalu or telvani... anyway it was just a sugestion

A vampire isn't a race in TES series, nor is a necromancer.

I never heared of any lore saying there IS a race of that kind and since we hold on to the things Bethesda intended it, there won't be a Necromancer/Vampire race.

I'm not a lore guy though, so you should wait for someone else to give you the exact facts about this.

Well, to put it simply: there will be no new races as we don't interfere with Beth's intentions/parts of the game. To create a new race would change CharGen kinda, and also it would destroy Beth's intentions of ten races if we added a new one.

I might be wrong, but I doubt it.

Every race comes from a specific province and that province has a specific architecture.
I don't think there is a vampire race and no ncromancer race, although oblivion vanilla has something like that. Vampires are disease NPC's. Necromancers are common NPC's who summon undead and most of the time attack you. There are enough necromancers in MW or OB.

What is more, you can become a vampire :D And in MW there are even 3 seperate vampire clans. Creating a vampire race is against the lore.

A vampire or necromancer race can not be against lore. A necromancer is a class of wizard that plays with dead things. A vampire is a state of existence caused by the in-game affliction of Porphyric Hemophilia (Restore Fatigue 1pt CE) being held for three days.

Neither one of these can be a race because a race is "a group of people distinguished by various sets of characteristics and beliefs about common ancestry." As stated above, a necromancer is just a type of wizard, and can be of any of the races that already exist (Sloads included). Vampires can have children (as far as SI is concerned), but it's very rare. Vampires can't be a race because they can't perpetuate their kind in the traditional way long enough to develop the things that make a race a race.

The following are the playable races in the Elder Scrolls series:
  1. Altmer (a.k.a. High Elves)
  2. Argonians
  3. Bosmer (a.k.a. Wood Elves)
  4. Bretons
  5. Dunmer (a.k.a. Dark Elves)
  6. Imperials
  7. Khajiits
  8. Nords
  9. Orcs (a.k.a. Orsimer, Pariah Folk, or Corrupted Elves)
  10. and the Redguards.
There are a few others that are in the lore like the Sload and the Ayleids, but they are not found on Tamriel.

TR will not be able to add these as a race because they can't be a race to start with. While starting the game as a vampire may be your style, there are mods out there that do that already, and this feature will not be included in TR because these mods already do the job as good as we could to start.

how about a vampire system of clans?

like MW great houses, but actualy something you could participate in in-game.

As Nanu Ra accurately described, there is a multitude of mods out there for vampirism and necromancy. TR won't be cluttering those modding taboos up any more than they already are.
