Ahhh that is an easy problem to fix..... Aro you will have to rexport them but before that you will need to reset their xforms.......it is the secret no one knows of....under utilities (the hammer) it should be there..... i do beofre i export anything .....even after i make a a slight change i do it.

what i dont get is why the top part of the tower is so light compared to the rest........aro might want to check the normals and vertex shading...... i think ......ps the gate should be as light as the top part!

It's wrong. The Gate was supposed to have the towers connected to its ends, not two Wall Pieces and then the towers. Other than that and the awkward shiny-ness of the emblem space right above the gate, it's ok.

I'm confused... What do you want me to fix Haplo? I would be happy to work again on the walls, but I can't see here what i'm supposed to fix...

I downloaded the latest OoT and tested the MCs on a friend's comp. I didn't tested it in-game as well, but I came across some flaws, mainly concerning the size/width/length of some modulars that force the modder to bleed them into each other, making for some ugly clipping.

Then again, I'm a very bad exterior modder myself, so I may as well screwed up the whole thing. But I'd like to know if anyone else has checked them out thoroughly.

Those two things. I realize now that you may not be able to see them as they were made in Reviewing which normally hides posts.

I had a look in nifskope at the MCs and I remember there were some wierd things, but the only one I can remember right now(propably because it affects my work...) is that in some MCs there is no place inside(between the columns) in which I can put the staircase. There are always some windows or doors. I guess it is a problem only if we always directly remake the MC in the interior(keeping the original size, window placement, etc.)

I got my internet connection back! Hurray! ^^

those arches will need to be rebuilt to be textured unless::::::: we want to make a unique arch-shaped texture and UVW plane that sucka (Nex votes for a unique texture)

My vote is: just do whatever suits you ;) Noir and Farwater already used unique designed textures for some MC arches and I believe that is a good solution.

thanx. My next act will be waving the magic wand of tiled textures. Oh how I loathe tiling textures...

you guys could have made it easy and put little half pillars on the ends of the wall.... but nooooo... o.0 gotta be seamless brick :mrgreen:

I haven't been able to find a good enough texture to use on the arches. besides the gate (which will take me an hour or two to match to the wall), the arch is the only thing barring me from getting the textures tiled and submiting the wall set to ØoT

You might be best with a unique arch map, like you mentioned earlier.

thats what i mean, i was referring to an arch shaped texture. if the arch looks anything less than immaculate then the whole wall goes down the drain. besides, with the arch in place i can do some contrast work in PS to make that mortar texture look more like the arch has been there a while, maybe i can even mask some weather damage onto the stone... (its worth a shot, even though its a completely new idea to me)

as well as the model: once im done i will re submit all my textures in 512x512 bmp format, (unless of course all i have to do is save it as a dds file).

i also have a major question:
what is the use of having 512, 256, 128, 64, 32, 16, 8 size textures next to eachother in dds format? if that is done to the 512 square textures im using the entire model will be back to square one.

Are you talking about exporting in .dds with mipmaps?

Oblivion requires that you export with mipamps. As I understand it, a different quality texture will be loaded depending on draw distance and detail settings. Its best if you upload your textures as a .dds file. The mipmaps will be added automatically if you have the option selected. I always use DXT5 compression.. though i think Noirgrim used DXT3.

now that you say it: i think my problem came from using a dds file (with your mipmaps) after editing the file in paint and not reconverting it.....

i think i just tasted my own foot :lol:

Nex, you astonished me with the last picture. That is just great! Except one thing, that stone in the middle might look a bit too long ;) Hmm, I always convert my textures with the DDS Converter 2. It's the easiest way.

Ah... aro is right. There is a noticeable pattern change in the center of the wall where texture has been mirrored horizontally. We're a picky bunch :)

A couple minutes with the photoshop offset filter and a clone tool should fix that, though you may have to go back to your pre-weathering texture to fix it the best. I hope you work in layers ;) It would be a shame to have to re-do that nice weathering.

actually, it took me about 2 minutes, but all i have to do is split the stone down the middle in that center spot (I knew that would be the focus but i had to go to bed :D)

here's my latest screenie on the Rihad wall. I got off my ass and worked hard on making that ugly center seam go by-by (and in doing so, turned 3 texs into 1)
