the weapon really caught my eye: its very unique. I suggest beefing up the haft a bit to make it more proportional.

Is it going to be a one-handed weapon or a polearm/spear weapon?

and don't worry about texturing right now, just keep working on the mesh and learning 'blender'. (correct me if i'm wrong TR) But I think a realistic polycount for a weapon in OBLIVION would be 3000-5000 polys (which is counted by triangles)

the goblet however looks to high-poly, and goblets, cups, plates, and such can be modeld in around 200-300 tris, since most of the detail is in the texture and mapping.

i really encourage you tokeep working on the weapon!

ok my mistake.

the haft is the part that you hold onto when you are holding/swinging the weapon.

I have never used blender, I use 3ds MAX8, so I dont know how to check polycounts in blender... if you save it as an .obj file or a .3ds file and send it to me, then I can import it into max and tell you how many polys it is, and since it is for MW then it needs to be much less polys than OBLIVION weapons (respectively).

and i never played SC3... is it better than SC2?

dont know if this helps but the face count for the whole lot is about 2000 havent figured how to count the polys yet
and i changed the goblet to have only 2000 faces instead of 6500 (as low as i could get it easily without looking too wonky)

Many modders here are working on blender, that is no problem, me myself I never found the patience to learn it, and it makes me feel bad... I was already planning to really start using it for far more than a year. I have it installed of course... Your meshes look very nice :) If you're not making textures you can try to learn it, or leave that to other modders, that is also no problem. In addition, I can tell you that I started to mod for oblivion without having it installed, and by now you don't have to worry about that! :D

A quite nice mesh Mr. Fishcake! Why don't try chamfering some edges? I would like that mesh to have more softened shape. Also, adding some more dimension to it could be nice too. On the concept it looks flat, but maybe in the game it shouldn't be so. But the first thing I mentioned is more important.

When I said chamfering, I had in mind getting a more smoother shape, not using a specific option ;)

you CAN use "subsurf" but that has a very high-poly result so I wont reccomend it, just do it the "classic" way.
EDIT:
with classic I mean just rearange the vertices a bit in edit mode off course ;)

I think it's supposed to be a full hat, sort of shaped like a giant turban with a large furrow going through the top. Either way, it looks a bit strange with just the white band. I'd ask Lady N about the shape, as she's the one who drew it.

Lady N can draw some of the hardest clotehs to mesh I have ever seen. Good luck Fishcake! and you can always leave the big primitive edges un-chamfered if its giving you too much trouble and have someone do it in 3dsMAX, (since its alot easier [i've heard], and you can get really acurate 2 and 4 tris chamfers really quickly)

It's got a good shape, but IMO the blade looks too short compared to the handle.

i noticed something missing in morrowind and that is toilets so i made a dunny to experiment with bending and such you might want to use it i think its fairly detailed because all the planks are seperate and deformed in different ways and i havent made a door yet because there might be one that matches like the shack doors.

Indeed. About the latest version of the scimitar, the shape and size are just fine, but the detail you've added in the middle of the hilt is unecessary since a texture can do the same work. Most important, by removing that detail you save some polys.

P.S. It was about time we saw a scimitar in these forums, keep it up :)

I think that you have the sharp part of the scimitar's blade on the wrong side. AFAIK, the sharp part is on the convex and not concave side of the blade, like this:

This must be from Elfane's concepts, right? Nicely done. If you think you can manage more complex shapes, chamfering and archs, say it. I've got a whole HDD full of torment for you!

Alright then. What's left to do is Upper Class architecture. Since it's Upper Class, it will inevitably be fancier than the rest and kinda challenging. Check this link: http://img260.imageshack.us/my.php?image=goldmoorbasisucly3.jpg

This picture shows the basic look of the UC walls. It serves two purposes; you familiarize yourself with the set's style and you get to see if you can actually handle the job or not. What I want you to do is model this wall (don't worry about its sides and their width) and post screenshots as well as the .obj file of your work.
If you do this right and feel like going on, I'll begin sending you building concepts (which will eventually be much more complex than just a wall).

Feel free to send me as many pm's as you want if you get stuck and need explanations, or additional sketches. I'm looking forward to checking this out.

P.S. In case you try it and don't feel like making the UC set, you can always do the interiors for the LC buildings. But do give this a shot :))

Oh, Hi there again :) I tought you got bored or smth. No need to worry about that Upper Class no more, I will take care about that, so you don't have to make architecture stuff. Anyway, that lighter is very smooth and nice :D Could you upload your meshes so I could take a closer look?
