there's something scary about dead birds- and the fact that it looks wounded somehow adds something.

That's an awesome talent you've got, Nalin. It seems that modellers generally come with some art skills.
Well at any rate, you should definitely start your own art thread. (As this is Pound's, and all.)

I ahve done a version of your bird man Nalin... when I finish school.
(last day EVER tomorrow)
But for now, I ahve an atmospheric in the works and unliek my more recent atmospherics I feel I will finish this one.

I started to wonder about the question over a goat fitting in HF. And obviosuly the proportions and almost caricatured body will be chnaged more relaistically before finish... the basic sketch under the coloured bits were equal in cartooniness. But it's just to ahve some freedom while sketching.

It's looking really good, Inspiring, It makes me want a tablet even more! I'd say the goat could be made a little bigger maybe but aside from that it's fine. I'm lookin forward to seeing your take on the "deadbirdmanthing".

You're right, but I have only ever met pygamy goats... which is why I drew it small.

I'm in love with the armour. It and I are going to get married and bear some young spaulders. We will be happy together
That, and as far as I have anything to say, that scorpion is official. It's a wonderful combination of whiptail and sand scorpion. The back reminds me nothing of it's smaller cousins, and I love it for that. It's like a leatherback shell, perhaps.
When a monster makes me want to draw it, it's damn well beyond awesomesauce

Morden, you had already commented, but thanks for the second one!
Scummy, thank you VERY much. The style is very fun, exploring styles can also help put across the atmosphere of a concept.
Lutemoth, can't wait to see your offspring, but I am definite having your babies is on the minds of many here... sometimes I wish I had an ovary or two. Are you saying that the armour I have drawn here has Colovian influence, or that it is what influences Colovian. I can understand the first one as there is an imperial feel there.
I really need to start looking at the other regions, as I know that it varies very much. I think the more Yoku it gets, the less clothing is worn and the heavier the religious connections and themes are depicted, but it all stays very practical. The more Imperialised it gets, the more embellished the clothing gets in average imperial ways, but the more civilised it becomes, and sometimes the practicality is forgotten. That's only what I think I know though.

I'd say that it influences our Colovian friends (not to mention techniques in sewing, adornment, etc. have been shared towards the east), but it isn't to say that there isn't something given back, one way or another. In Daggerfall, I recall a lot of towns with Colovian folk living in the North-eastern mountains, close to the border.lb003g0676 wrote: Are you saying that the armour I have drawn here has Colovian influence, or that it is what influences Colovian. I feel the same way, and it definetly gets my doodle-blood boiling when I think of the subcultures that have arised from the land.lb003g0676 wrote: I think the more Yoku it gets, the less clothing is worn and the heavier the religious connections and themes are depicted, but it all stays very practical. Okay well heres a strange update.
1.

1.Firstly, a remake of an old one.... to be honest, the deisgn is crap, it's purely prettiness and it's even lackign there still. Hopefully as it porgresses, it will improve in both departments.
2.Heres some progress. Not sure. Defintely thoguht the goat was generic, or real worldy. Just a lot wrong there, will try and finsih it though.
3.Finally anotehr Quagmire beast. Kind of out of proportion legs to glide on. I imagine it would be scary. Not sure though.

I like your drawings Pound The face on the first one looks just wonderful. That is an interesting creature. I'm in favour of that grotesque design, but IMHO the legs are too long. I'm aware that propably they were supposed to be this long but this beast would be an easy target. It reminds me of the silt striders. They look very good in the game, but when you start to think about how this creature moves, eats, etc. you can find out it is pure nonsense

It's a Quagmire daedra. Quagmire is a nightmare realm, and not logical. Personally, I think that the more grotesque and unrealistic it is the better, as long as it's still scary.
On taking a closer look, that creature is excellent! I like the design, which seems a bit redguard influenced, IMO, but fits very well with Quagmire. The only problem is that I think that the head looks nice. And that's a problem with me, not you.

Well considering the fact that 99.9% of us are male, the idea of a TR orgy dosent appeal to me that much... not to mention a male orgy dosent tend to produce children, it dosent produce much of anything actualy. Well it does produce a lot of... nm, I'm not going there.Lady Nerevar wrote:we need to all get together into a huge artificial orgy and create the ultimate artist/modder. and then out himher on crack and make himher finish TR
I think the quanire guy would be more scary if he was skinnier in the torso, and wearing less clothing.

I've always said my thread is fine for being soiled with dirty talk. I love it. and I realised after what Macar said, that yes it wouldn't be that great, with the orgy thing.
But I know what N meant. Imagine the uber geek half elf artist modder modeller scripter loremaster child.
He would have been brought up online, with a strict diet of lore, and restricted to Tamriel Rebuilt and The Imperial Library online and other fantasy worlds and our own world, so his/her view of what the real world is, might be really different, for him/her to imagine EVERYTHING differently. In a situation similar to Plato's Theory, with his/her face aimed at the computer screen. Until he was about 5.
MMMM, can't wait to meet this person.

Hair picked up from foes, animal or human is braided and formed into a basic armour set, well known to those who call themselves Ra Gada.
Need to do the back but probabaly won't. Lets see. I have tons of pictures to upload, but I might post them up later, or more likely never as none of them are by any means useful to the project. This one was.

Hi Pound, nice to see you again. I'm happy that the Concept Art forum is finally getting updated again. Maybe it's been slowing down due to the absence of Lutemoth's banner.
Anyway, I love the new suit of armour. I can imagine the hair being dyed with a lot of colours to make a very eye-catching and impressive suit. I don't quite get whether the hair itself is hardened in some way to become armour, or whether the hair is just a sort of decorative covering for sheets of metal and other material underneath though.

Resin hardened hair, so the fibre makes it very strong. But the flaps on the helmet are treated like braids. They are indiviual but thick enoguh to make constant cover, and are never washed, and often oiled to keep them sticky, then rolled up into very long strands.

Maybe it has to do with the new High Rock mod started by Noirgrim?Gnomey wrote:Hi Pound, nice to see you again. I'm happy that the Concept Art forum is finally getting updated again. Maybe it's been slowing down due to the absence of Lutemoth's banner.

Spambots are currently more active than users at HR. And spambots aren't our concept artists.
From a modellers point of view this armour would be a big challenge. And yes, it's a nice one

I have unfortunately neglected Noirgrims Highrock Mod as much as our Hammerfall one. In general, I haven't had much time to upload art. Let alone art for either project. I am just glad, most of the art I am doing is Elder Scrolls related.
Thank you for questions and compliments .
Nice to be vaguely back. Just couldn't bare making a thread of resignation and I have to face, that my life will never have much free time, but I can make the most of that time, by drawing.
And to Gnomey, it's not Lutemoths absence that resulted in mine, but rather him reminding me of it recently that brought me back afetr I started chattign to him. He's good at his job.

Nice to see your sketching flavour spicing up the forum, #
Your work keeps accumulating a wonderful detail about them. The more I see, the more noticeable the amount of thought placed into each piece. Everything on this armour is logically coordinated.
I'd like to see this piece as a Northern Hammerfell badge of pride. Even if it wasn't as defencive as common equipment, it's still a bad-ass thing for a Raga to wear
