Is it ok I claim this? I know the fountain isn't finished yet but I'm going to get or to make myself some new concept art for the textures of the fountain before I can continue on that object. But if anyone thinks it's better that I finish the fountain first just say it becouse I havent claimed this yet.

if I may do this I'm going to texture and model it but if someone realy wants to do the texture work instead then I dont care. I already made a little start with the model:

I think I have to wait posting a new topic in the claimed section until my claim is approved

here is a update:

I reduced the face count and added some details. Anyone knows what I need to use as texture?

Hmm, pale green for the leaves and branch and soft mauve for the flower? The surface looking rough, perhaps, since there are spikes all over this plant.

In Australia at least, a lot of flowers like that (one large flower on a plant) are actually quite vivid colours, like bright red or yellow. The flower almost looks carnivorous, and those flowers are also vibrant colours from what I've seen.

Pale green for the leaves and stem seems right to me though.

the stem looks realy flat too me, it should be much more round imho. unless thats just the render messing up.

also, hows it holding up polygon wise? the spikes seem to be a bit much especialy since they are so tiny...

I tried to make the stem more round, removed the spikes and added the "bug catching thing".

right now it has 3640 faces, but I dont know how many polys that is. The high face count is mainly becouse of the leaves and the flower looking thing.

Just upload your file in 3ds or whatever. Looking good! I would like to have a closer look at it :)

Here you go Jellew... The rest looks great :) I was also worrying about the leaves, but the really are well made, so you don't have to improve them, unless you are a perfectionist ;) If you are, just collapse some vertices in the middle part of them, as well on the inner side, as on the outer, I hope you get what I mean :)

The textures look great, but could you zoom in in some details? :) Or add some light to the scene ;) It's hard to judge by this screen.

I dont know the size of the object compared to a human, but I think the hairy things are so small that if I model them they are to small to show clear in game. And about the "Core Opinion" I dont know who to contact for that, or should I just post the file and click
"claim progress: 100%"?

Here's a core post for you :-P

I think it looks great! Have you opened it up in NifSkope and added the textures properly there/transformed it to a .nif?

If yes, put the files into a .rar and upload it and then it'll be ready for reviewing!

Heh, a little complaint here!
Usually, for making plants, alpha maps are used. You can use those for the spikes, if remaking the plant is too much.

The nif version is not compitable with Oblivion so I whas wondering if someone else could export it to the latest nif version. The texture is still .tga but I will edit the nif and texture if they need to be a .dds for review.
you need to have the textures in "C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Textures\Plants"

srry, saw your post to late, I can do this but it doesn't matter remaking the plant is to much, the matter is that the spikes are maby to small to be seen clearly ingame.

yes, the textures do need to be .dds. Also, in the future place the textures in Textures\TR\Plants instead of Textures\Plants, please. The version for the .nifs is 20.0.0.5 I think.

I think I can export it correctly to that nif version, (Im using Blender) but I will convert the textures to .dds and change the path rightaway.

I changed the texture and texture path to "Oblivion\Data\Textures\TR\Plants\plant5texture.dds"
and made the nif version 2.0.0.5 but I'm not sure if it works with Oblivion becouse I used a pretty unusual method. (it shows correctly in nifskope so I think it should work with Oblivion to)

did you use 2.0 or 20.0? I know it might just be a typo but 'tis quite important!

I named it 'bellflower' for now. Also, it shows up as an error marker when I try and place it anywhere ingame. Do you know why? The mesh and texture are both in their correct spots.
