theviking's maps

Post by theviking »

Hi, I know we still have to make a mapbook of map2. I'd like to create the map of that. I really like maps and I have some good skills with adobe illustrator, so expect some shortly. Does someone have the maps from map1 so I can be more consistent?

Here is the first update on the map:

Should I change something about how I present Darconis? I want to do that to every town on the map.

now someone make it into a map book for BoT... like now. (Add a few more landmarks though first please)

Edit: Now that I have read the thread I now see that I was stating what had already been said in my post, sorry about that. Theviking, I am sure that somewhere in the .bsa is the original map file for the map 1 books. Extract it and find the file. I would recommend splitting the map in two in a way similar to the map 1 books (map 2 is larger so maybe you need 3, I dunno) I look forward to the finished product.

Added a few more towns, I wont be able to add to this map for two weeks but then I will have all the towns on the map. This is scaled down, so the shack settlements are visible much better in the actual map.

That map I made was based on the old claim map; but I want my map to be accurate as hell! So I will base it upon actual screenshots from the construction set. This is now my background:

Maybe it can be useful for someone else. The real version is much greater, so if you want it, I can pm it to you. Ill finish the map this weekend.

well, the most acurate would probably be going to the acurate map and doing it from that. it dosent have the perspective issues of taking pictures in the CS

Yes, but that one also doesn't have the work that was added in the detailling phase, so then I never know for sure if its going to be dead accurate.

I would like some feedback so I can make it even better. I'll attach the real file so you can have it.

Looking good :)

This might seem like a strange request but it might come in handy for the PC during quests or add some nice background for the Legion. I remember in Fort Buckmoth during the MQ that one of the NPCs mentioned Ilunibi not being on any of their maps. But they didn't have any maps. Could you make a small in-game book atlas focusing on the Imperial Legion for Map 1 and the north of Map 2 (possibly one map showing the location of the Imperial garrisons of Firewatch, Bal Oyra, Darconis and Fort Windmoth; and others focusing on the area surrounding each with a few details and landmarks added)?

That map of the forts is easy, I problably can make one. Because it's only used by imperials it is very basic. So I will only mark the locations of the imperial places on the map and how you can get there. The map I made above is made from a dunmer perspective, so it shows all of their settlements and regions.

Yep, that's what I meant. Drakehold is ruined, has TR books written about it, and has a quest plot written for it where it is occupied by the lich Arkhon Lim. You probably don't want to mark it on a map.

Ok, here is the finished version of the imperial legion map. I also managed to get my map of map2 in-game! Ill attach a zip file where you can see them in-game(I had to cut it in 4 pieces) Place the esp in your data files directory, the art files in the data files/book art/TR/ directory. Activate the plugin, start the game and then enter the following code: coc "TR testing cell" . The maps should be right in front of you. I've tested them in-game and they are dead accurate and easy to use. Have fun wih them...

Excellent. It would be a very good idea to have these commonly availiable in bookstores, as they would be of great use to those people who don't use the FPS Optimiser for its Map Enhancing.

This is my first version of map3. As you can see I didn't include depictions of the cities yet, I will do that when the detailling begins. Also note that because the roads are so hard to see, they look incomplete on my map. Also note the size of Almalexia, :) . I hope you like it.

Here I am again. I'm sorry I was absent for a while, I was really into a game. But the interest for that game is vanishing slowly, so i'll get back to modding soon.
Anyway, this is a special treat. It's a map I made about a year ago to find all the dungeons in map1. I finally digitalised it and this is the result. It's not perfect, for example, I didn't added the mines because I thought they weren't interesting at that time. But it still contains a heap of information and I found all the dungeon with it!

And now, the official map for map1; Telvannis! Should we add this to our final release? I already got it into the game and added it to traders, here is the link to that plugin: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6618

Absolutely gorgeous! If anyone's thinking of doing colored versions of these maps like Mike Wagner's Vvardenfell map, that would be utterly awesome as well, but totally too much work to expect from anyone.

I did notice a small typo. On the: imperial-map-NE.jpg and imperial-map.jpg (They might be the same thing), you spelled "defense" as defence. Just a small error, but other than that, maps look good.
