Ok so I made one try at this one, don't know what you think, but I think it looks quit cool. Should I continue on this one?

Looks good, but has to be operational as well. Is it going to be two-handed? You need to make it lengthier. Is it going to be one-handed? You need to make it shorter.
I like the mesh, smooth and stylish.

Oh, I am sorry, I made some models out of the list of conepts on needed models. I am sorry if it was wrong of me to post these objects as claimed projects. If it was, please remove them and I can post them in my showcase.

We will definitely get to those eventually, but for now these initial weapons should suffice; we should focus more on statics and the like for at least a little while longer.

personaly, i actualy think that the pics posted by morden fit in better into goldmoor then the ones in this claim. i think we can put them into a claim as well (maybe in a week or so)

the axe and the big eye thing have alredy been modeled by fairwater and besides minor optimisations and texturing can be used. i just came upon the meshes, ill upload them in a sec.

Hmmm... How are the polies? Because the mesh looks very nice :) But on the other hand, I see some wierd smoothing here.

You did very well, especially if you think you're not good at textures. When we gonna add a normal map to this, the effects can be satisfying. How about trying something more interesting for the handle? I mean something that is closer to the concept. Also, there is some wierd smoothing, or a lack of smoothing on the second weapon.

Progress is good :) But you should rescale or redesign some parts of the second mesh, because they really don't follow the concepts style.

First weapon:

It looks good, although don't forget to texture those two knobs! And also, the texture on the shaft that sticks out at the top, above where the blades are attached, doesn't look realistic to me. Is it possible to edit it a little to make it seem more like wood?

Not only the handle. If you have an option of using an image as an background for your work in your modelling software, use it, you will then clearly see what should be changed. If you don't have such an option, make a render not taken in a perspective and then compare it to the concept.

I'd go with bone, as that would fit nicely (for the knobs)

And what I meant about the handle was...

The part of the shaft that is separated from the part with the grip by the bone... it doesn't look like wood. It looks like a plastic wrap on the model.

is this a better shape i put the concept on the background and made it shaped exactly except for some little bits (the ring on the bottom should it be a ring or a knot?)

I believe aro told at IRC he just got back from a little break but that was going to leave soon again. Until he can reply I do have some things to say:
first of all, the concept has 2 rings at the bottom on the handle, it is a small detail but you should keep to the concept as close as possible. Another thing is that IMO the model is to simple, make it smoother and add some of the carvings shown on the concept.
Aro already posted you should use a background image to match the concept better. From the renders I see you have Blender, and in Blender it is possible to use a background image as follows: in the lower toolbar click "view" > "background image" > "load image" and then of course, load the desired image. to see the background image you must be in top view, do this bij pressing numpad 7 while numlock is on. Now you can model excactly like the concept was ment :)

yeah i did put the concept on the background image but sometimes it doesnt work so i had to make a new one (i exported then imported and then it worked)

I mean that you should implement the stuff I circled in this image in the model:

heres the texture it wont work for the morrowind because its not a power of 2 in size but i dont know about OB if you thinks its good i can change it

I think the bottom thing should be bone and the rings shouldnt be made of such an expensive material like gold. Try to use something different, but if you need help with texturing just say it. About the power of 2: for Morrowind and Oblivion you should always use the .dds format for textures. .dds images must have a power of 2: this are image dimensions like 256 x 256 and 512 x 512. For weapons I always use 512 x 512 since it has a respectable quality and filesize.

i was going to mention this on PES, but ill say it here. please tell me when you are using my texes. i dont mind people using them, i just need to know when you do. i didnt know about it at all on PES, and you rehosted the one above.

now, personaly i think the weave is too big. this can probably be changed by adjusting the UV map or re-scaling the texture. also, i dont like the way you can see the white modern cotton peaking out from below. again, either texture rotation or re-UVmaping, the first one most likly easier. draw some folds into the cloth where its attached to the rings to make it look realistic.
