Congrats :-)

How fast can you run 36.576m in? That's a standard measurement of how fast someone is in America, called the 40-yard dash, or the 40 for short. Every professional and higher educational athlete that plays a running sport gets clocked in it :-)

Well, with a athletics skill of around 85, I don't think you're far off!

Ah, athletics, those were the days... Many people wanted to get me professional training when I did 183 in high jump at the age of 15, but I found playing the piano a lot more interesting than bouncing around on a track field. I wonder how well I would do today...

36.576m??? Doesn't seem like a measurement of how fast someone is, more like a measurement of how fast someone accelerates. My favorite distance nowadays is 42,195m, though judging from the results, I don't think my endurance attribute is over 90 yet... :(

Aye, it's enough of a distance for someone to reach their top top speed. A relatively fast time would be about 5.4 seconds or so. Really fast would be 4.3 or 4 seconds flat.

Im a long distance runner so I need way more than 30 meters to reach my top speed. I was able to run 10 kilometers in 47 minutes in the past. Acceleration is not my thing but once i reach a certain speed i can keep it for very long.

Actually, you may choose to take longer since it'd be a waste to max out so early in a long distance race, but it doesn't take hardly anyone more than 40 yards to hit their top speed. It's not that short of a distance, you know. I'm talking about how fast you can hit your top speed, not how high your top speed is. It's our 0 to 60 test for humans. You just barely break into your max once you hit the 40.

Had I not injured my leg, I'd love participating in a marathon. Although I love running around aimlessly, I'm not fast, but my endurance is really admirable (endurance -> big fatigue bar).

Oh, come on people, who runs?

I do my 1500 in 1:59 and my 5000m in 7:20.

oh no!! a friend of mine competed this weekend and now he's second fastest in Scania. that makes me fifth fastest :x

here's a link to show the Scania-results for 2007:

http://www.skanefriidrott.org/Word_dok/Sk_stat_ute_P13_2007.htm

(P13 means "boys thirteen")
i'm on the fifth rank on 80 metres (note i've been running fast enough to be third best, but not on a competition, so that didn't count :( )

I'm definitely not a long-distance runner, but I have pretty nice speed on short runs. Considering my physical activities, I guess that's quite nice. I like taking long, long walks tho.

Same here, I'll do 10k's then turn around and do another 10 to get home. (ussually I'll just do 7k's all the way since I don't have all day).

My personal longest one was 17km (one way). And I do those rarely.

a 40 yard dash down a flat synthetic turf certainly doesn't account for universal speed. Add Wrothgarian landscape, mountain lions, and explosions and you have yourself a test of speed.

but congrats for ranking in your province, Adense.

in six days I will compete in the largest athletics competion ever in my life. Its the five best in all..ehm..what's it called in english:S..i say braches, because that was the best thing i could find. So let's repeat that. Its the five best in southern Sweden in all branches. (Hope you understood) Anyway, I hope to beat some more club records :D

(I've also started running 200m now, I'm 0.5 sec behind the fastest in Scania)

You dont know it, but i am quite great for my age and stature. at 15, i ran my 800m in 2:09 something. Went to State, and got 18th. In Arizona! I do cross-country, and i am threatening the 1st place man. This kid aint used to losing, so humbling him is my goal. His family is the gratest atheletes on the face of the planet, and i strive to beat him, and take out his brothers 800 record of 1:47. I guess I need to book it. Last meet i ran for CC was in 21:23, over 3.1mi, through a grueling sandy track with little shade.

Sorry, just some revieries. Thats what i do. "I came to COMPETE!" is my motto, and anyone who is in Lake Havasu AZ knows it, and the kid who spoke those words just last year.

in sweden you start with 800m when you get 14. i'm 13, so i have to run 600m. but i think i can run 800m on about 2 min (when saying "about 2 min" it can be 2.20 as the slowest time. not sure, as i have never tried to run it against fast people, only against myself, and then you can't do a good time

wow. i would probably get creamed on an international level, then...

well, my aspirations are high for myself, and i beg of you to NOT get arrogant once you do REALLY well. then you wont be able to handle it when someone better comes along.

do try your best. i am interested in your up-and-coming-career. give me updates every so often.

take advice from this American; with luck you will hear about me!

daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!!!!! they had some strange starting-pistols. they were so silent you could almost not hear them. so my start was terrible. i got fifth (5th). I could have been 3rd the starting-part hadn't screwed up. :@

so no digital hi-res beers.
Edit: but i got a new personal record.
