split this post from your showcase as it was getting a little spammy. I don't actually change my avatar all that often normally, the avatar(s) from last week was to commemorate the end of a show I like. I don't intend to change this for a while.

ok.... It's interesting... Is that from a game? It looks kinda like a tiny headed argonian with modded armor and a black robe hood.

If only Obsidian had more time to complete KOTOR2, it could have been such a better sequel...

KOTOR 1 is one of the best rpgs I've played, with a good story. It takes a lot of space, but it's worth it.
I've played that game 3 or 4 times with a different char. Luckily, this game is big and well thought enough to play multiple times.

Apparently there are mods out there trying to restore lost content and fix bugs. I haven't played it, but I have heard some pretty bad stories.

@Blackbird: KotOR is a great game, I unfortunately only have it for X-Box ATM. (I bought it years ago, I was young, and reckless!) Once I get my blasted computer back I intend to purchase the game for the PC as I should have originally. Am I missing anything besides better graphics and that new space station thingy?

Not really. Control scheme is fairly tight. But if you've played both paths on the X-Box, there's no real reason to buy it again, apart from it being awesome. Buy KOTOR2 instead.

Aye, I've heard of the KOTOR2 fixes, but they can only work with what's there in the game's resource files afaik, nothing like what could have been done. Still, better than nowt. Will have to pick it up again when I'm done with Shivering Isles and Beyond Good & Evil.

One thing KOTOR2 was better than KOTOR was the ambiguity. Kreia and Atris are two of the many characters that really make you question whether what you do is really for good or bad, which makes more of a difference from KOTOR (where the difference reminded me of the good/evil system of Fable in its stark polar contrasts), although you are still pigeon-holed into good or bad by the end, the journey has many grey undertones.

I don't know if the graphics are better, but the space station is actually a place where you can buy uberitems. You can also play pazaak for 750 credits. When you win 10 times (in total), the shop owner gives you a nice discount on his super items.
Moving is a bit like Morrowind. However when a fight occurs, the game pasues and you can select the target and which attack you want to perform.
KOTOR 2 has a rather dissapointing end, but is still good and it shows some progress or improvement in gameplay.

Disgusting creatures, I tend to stay away from them as often as I can. I hear their meat is rather tasty, though.

Speaking of KOTOR, Star Wars etc, is anyone here who watched the 3 original movies when he/she was about 12, liked them but now thinks they're a bit sucky? I won't even ask about the new trilogy, it was good for nothing, save sound benchmarks and serving coffee on their discs.

I watched the old ones when I was even more young. Something about ten I believe. It was great by that time. Very fascinating... Now, when I look at it, I like it almost just because of my sentiment to it. Well, the story's good, some ideas are also nice, but it's only a fairy tale. A special one, but nothing extraordinary.
PoHa: how can we best this trio of trouble? who will save us from this menace of sub-par models? what will we do?

Same here. I think the most attractive element of the first trilogy was that it narrated a coming-of-age in a very nice way. If only the well-thought sci-fi scenery wasn't full of childish stuff (that blue elephant thing from the Return of the Jedi is stuck in my head).
