Saint Statues?

Post by xeth-ban »

Well I was wondering, is there any statues of the other dunmeri saints in the TR_Data.esm? It would seem a bit odd only having statues of two saints through all of Morrowind...

Petiboy made this St.Veloth statue for my Ald-Ruhn Temple Expansion WIP

It doesn't exactly seem to be to hard.

There are a couple of statues in TR_Data. They are of a different look though.

They each represent that saint's personal attributes, rather than the Vivec pair which are made to bow to eachother, presumably to show their equality. A saint on his own would not need such things.

For example, we have St. Felms, barechested and weilding an axe. This is the guy who chases the Nords out of Morrowind. We also have some less distictive saint, (can't remember the name) who holds out his hands wide, in a common robe. You can find the latest versions of them in the "models needed for Morrowind" thread. Jellew tweaked the old ones a bit to make them smoother.

Personally, I'm not overly fond of Petiboy's one, just because it's a exact duplicate of the other two, with a different face. IMO a Saint as important as Veloth deserves more, but it does the job, and I'm not complaining.

And for the project as a whole, while that one serves its purpose of making a one off distinctive statue, it'd be a bit boring (for a project as large as this one) to have all the statues be 'bowing bloke' with a different face.

If one of our modellers has the time, I'm sure it'd be easy enough to create more, in the manner our ones have been created. (i.e. take a posed NPC and give him a stony texture)
a man builds a city

a man melts the sand so he
can see the world outside
