What are we up to? [Morrowind]
Here is our project showcase thread for Morrowind. As you should know, we are currently making the rest of the Morrowind province for the TES3 Engine. This thread is to show off the latest progress of the mod and to give those without Modder privileges something to look at. This thread will be updated by modders, but you can expect some public BSF updates in the future.

I'm back from my absence and am about to restart work on the "main quest" for map1. The questline will bring the player all across the varied environments of our map. It will enable players to play from two diametrically opposed points of view. This means that one side will involve defending X, the other will involve attacking X, etc. Each of these sides also has multiple paths that the player can follow, allowing them to have real effects on the world that they inhabit. (These effects amount to more than just the distracting greeting after becoming the Nerevarine, the structure of the land will change and the geopolitics of the Telvannis region will hinge upon the player's action/inaction; choose your loyaltoes wisely. I had hoped to be able to post some fitting quotes, but my compy's dead.
Next time I post here, I hope to have some suitablly intriguing quotes, but I'm not going to give away even a smell of the plot just yet

I am working on clearing out all the quests from our current backlog to free up room for new designs, and am currently in the process of implementing Ranyon-ruhn and Ashamul's misc quests and an overarching 'Main Quest' for Ranyon-ruhn, involving the Telvanni Lord of Tel Aranyon, Master Mithras.
I have also been working on getting NPCs implemented for the area surrounding and including the Indoril fort of Ayemar, in Map 2.

A word from the reviewing machine: I just reviewed three very good interiors; A farmhouse in Gorne made by Hemitheon with had a nice simple style. He also made the palace of the boss of Almalexia, the grand-ascendant of house Indoril. That one was just breathtaking. I actually gave it a 10,5. Visiting it is a must! (If map3 gets released) The third interior was the tavern of Rhouaf Duhr (Eagle Moor) by agram. That one had no errors!
So, you can see that the quality gets better and better. I really like reviewing these good interiors so I hope the interior modders will keep up the quality!
Nomadic1 reviewed Kemel-Ze and it is almost ready. So, expect that soon! The reviewing pit has shrunken now to a slight gap of 50 interiors. As always, I conclude this post by saying that we can always use some good reviewers!

And from the exteriors side, in addition to detailing and sprucing up map 2, we're working on filling in the last few areas in map 4 that haven't been created yet. My current claim, 4-20, is almost complete, I just need to add a bit more of the smaller flora and vertex coloring and give the houses doors and it should be good to go.

Great pics! Really, they should be put into our screenshots section. I'm sure everybody would agree with that.

I'm making the only tavern of Gorne, the Three-Legged Guar. It is obvious were the name comes from... It still a WIP so there is still quite some things missing, especcially in the first screenie. But here you go. The first screenie is of the main tavern area and the second of the VIP area which you can rent.

Love your work...It's this kind of modding that inspired me to start modding in the first place!kebra wrote:Working on map2 exteriors, there is pics like Akamora on the main page.
Map5, the main city of Blacklight with a lot of pics in the Blacklight tried.
Map6, one claim and some meshes replacement for Ald Rotanir and Ald Dwerelyn.
And some interiors for Map2.

The original Narsis was deemed to uber I thought. No idea whats happening to it now. Shame, it looked like an amazing piece of work.

Because of the unique models (incredibly high poly) and the enormous size (9 cells) the city was deemed too laggy and unplayable. It was however magnificent to see.

It would be a shame to waste Narsis. Tweaking the models and removing some flora and clutter would be easier than remaking the city from scratch. Any changes made will be a long ways off though. For now we need to worry about finishing map2 and soon map3.

I can check what can be done with these meshes if they're causing some trouble. Just tell me which one should I review(I'm not that informed when it comes to our Morrowind nifs).

imho, we should keep narsis as close to the original as posible. it was one of the most amazing cities both in TR and everywhere, destroying it is just not posible in my mind.
reducing the ploly size on the meshes should help a LOT. the coloseum for instance is not only high poly but also an interior within exterior. by cutting down the polysize segnificantly, AND making it an actual interior (we could use the behave as exterior option to still give it a sky) it would segnificantly impact the FPS in that area. same thing goes for the rest of the city: reduce polygons and make actual interior. the interior issue saved us a lot of trouble with alma, and i think it would also work really well with narsis.

On those models, please kill the golden nix-hounds, and probably the soldier statues, unless they get re-texed. The only one that looks like a possible 'keep' is that soldier riding something, which looks too cool to waste.
Also, those obelisks he has look a bit dodgy. I'd be tempted to just kick out 99% of any unique meshes that aren't 100% required for that city. Too OTT with unique meshses creates an uber and immersion breaking (just what we don't want to do) city.

What about making an exterior interior of the exterior city.
Like Mournhold is made, copy the landscapes from the original using tesfaith, and if you can the buildings as well. if not, then copy the landscapes, and manually replace the buildings using a copy and shift paste.
You can keep the tallest buildings in the original like it is in Oblivion.

In addition to the fine work that theViking and everyone is doing on map, a nice big chunk of exterior for map 4 is now complete and is in review now. Only a couple more pieces and map 4 will have its exteriors finished! Or ready for detailing at least, though hopefully there's less work than on some of the other maps.
Here's some screenshots of what I was working on:

Well those are the flattest directions to be looking, actually. The flat part really doesn't extend any further than those screenshots, for the most part. It just made sense to me to have those areas be a little flatter than the rest of the map.kebra wrote:Just, aren't the plantation and the border too flat?
I'd like to meander through the thread for a bit:
Almost all of the sections we parted Map 2 into are now in the NPC/creature/dialogue stages! That means a release-able Map 2 is closer than ever!
Also, Map 3 has changed hands for a short time so that some internal fixing and specific changes can be done, then it's back to me for some more interior linkage! (Sounds hot, I know)
Onward and Forward! Map 4 recently had a rather large claim approved, and now awaits only 1 more claim to have completed exteriors! (unless another section needs redoing) After that it's onto making and linking the interiors
Thrig edit: Clarified that we still have map 4 interiors to do.

Maps 1 and 2
Aside from all the excitement over maps 2 and 4, how close is map 1 to its unofficial "official" release, or at least until a "Quest Beta"?

As long as it takes. We'd love it to be sooner rather than later, but can't make any promises.

Simply awesome screenshots and cities, judging by the pictures you did a work even better than Map 1!
I agree, these images should be placed in the 'screenshots' section, if not showed at the Official Bethesda Forum.

You know what's also popular? Enormous flying cities and ridable dragons. Maybe TR should invest in navigable ships and underwater cities.
