A Halloween Discovery
Hi all. Today I went to Half Price Books and found a cool book called the Daggerfall Chronicles, which is just a guide to Daggerfall the game. Anyway, I noticed some interesting things which I then checked with the TIL and noticed some new stuff. Among the plants, I found a few new entries:
Arabesque Nut: can be found growing wild in the mountains of Hammerfell. This succulent nut is often the only nourishment of adventurers who find themselves in the wilderness without rations. It is said that the Arabesque nut has magical properties. When it is crushed and mixed with the milk of the agile footed mountain goat, a potion can be made that allows the user to glide safetly above the ground.
And Goldmoor does have mountains in the north. Besides those, I noted figs, cacti, ferns, clover, and root tendrils.
So I hope that's helpful to the OoT. It also has illustrations for the interior of the Palace of Sentinel if that's helpful in any way. I can scan them if you want. I thought of scanning the whole book but its almost 300 pages.

Please scan whatever info you have about the fauna, flora architecture or landscape for hammerfell That would be really helpful, and what is most important, it would help us staying as close as we can to the lore.
PoHa: how can we best this trio of trouble? who will save us from this menace of sub-par models? what will we do?
PoHa: I know! we'll shoot an Aro at them
Aro: you have only one Aro missile!
PoHa: yes, but its heat seeking and quite possibly indestructible

Does the scanning and putting the images up on TR violate copyright? Maybe you should look into that. IIRC there was an issue like that with the PGEs.
What you want to do is post a comprehensive list of all the Daggerfall plants that haven't been done already in the Lore forums. Concept artists can then pick a few they like, and post their concepts in the Hammerfell Plants sticky.
I'm not an OoT-er, so I don't know if Goldmoor needs any more plants.

Sweet find Hemi
I doubt Goldmoor needs more plants. The plants Hemitheon has there belong in the A'likr, Dak'fron and Dragontail Mountains; as well as irrelevant assorted flora of High Rock. While we don't need them now, we will need them later.
The copyright issue with the PGEs stemmed from the fact that they were actually copyrighted. If the book isn't explicitly copyrighted, we should be right.
If it is copyrighted, Hemitheon can still be legal and only upload notes about the plants and so forth. Any screenshots from the game appearing in the book won't be copyrighted so he can upload those as he likes.

<insert witty signature here. i might spend time trying to come up with something, but its not like anybody reads these anyway>
Well this thing has a very strict copyright on it, so this evening, I'll be taking notes on everything new and posting them on here. BTW Have any of you all heard of a Hammerfellian town named Pothago or Kairou? Sun's Dusk,18 Hel Anseilak Festival Holy Day Communion with Sword Saints in Pothago.
Ok I had some time:

wereboar's tusk, dragon scales, root tendrils, root bulb, giant's blood, pine branch, turquoise, cactus, fairy dragon scales, wraith essence, various colored poppies, crystal, fern, nymph hair, medusa snake, pure water, rain water, tin, brass, platinum, ivory [the following are potions which are added to other potions] elixir vitae, nectar, ichor
FAUNA:

FLORA Descriptions taken from original Special Flora of Tamriel:
Dragon's-Tongue is the common name for a fernlike herb found in Hammerfell. It is especially prolific around the area of Fang Lair. It is a beautiful wildflower. Its name comes from the fire red fronts that protect it's golden flowers. Dragon's-Tongue is as pretty as it is deadly to most living beings, and needs to be avoided by adventurers. It is said, however, that Argonians can pick the plant and use the sap derived from its roots to enhance their endurance.
The Narcissus plant which is found along the bands of rivers and lakes in High Rock is most inconspicuous. It has a small purple flower surrounded by a deep green leaf. The small flower is very sweet and tasty. Legend has it that when eaten, it has the ability to increase one's charisma for a short while.
ARTIFACTS (not included in Oblivion or Shivering Isles)
Hircine's Shield/Ring
DRUGS AND POISONS:
Nux Vomica, Arsenic, Moonseed, Drothweed, Somnalius, Pyrrhic Acid, Magebane, Thyrwort, Indulcet, Sursum, Quaesto Vil, Aegrotat
MISCELLANEOUS:
The Royal Crest of the House of Sentinel is a waxing crescent moon with an eclipsed moon behind it.
COMMON SIGNS OR POSTS: witchburnings, persecution, famine, plague, war, enemies of the region
DUNGEON TYPES: crypt, orc stronghold, human stronghold, prison, desecrated temple, mine, natural cave, coven, vampire haunt, laboratory, harpy nest, ruined castle, spider nest, giant stronghold, dragon's den, barbarian stronghold, volcanic caves, scorpion nest
Notes on DAEDRIC SUMMONINGS:
The big difference between a coven summoning and a guild summoning is that if a guild summoning fails, nothing happens. If a coven summoning fails, roll off the daedric random encount table above to see what appears instead. Something always does.
The odds that the daedra in question will respond on that day are a base of 30%. If the particular weather type the daedra likes exists, the odds are increased by 10%. The PC's reputation modifies these odds, appropriately. There is always a base 5% chance that Sheogorath will appear instead of the daedra being summoning. These odds increase to 15% on any stormy night.
General summoning is only done by witches, the Mage's Guild, and at temples. No other group, including the DB, Baron Dwynnen, the Duchess of Pothago, or the Marquis of Ephesus, can summon a daedra for the PC. [Hircine is only summoned by the Glenmoril Coven]
KNIGHTLY ORDERS:
Sentinel: Knights of the Moon and Knights of the Candle
Lainlyn: Knights of the Horn
Avibon-Gora: Knights of the Wheel
Totambu: Knights of the Scarab
Santaki: Knights of the Hawk
Lainlyn: Knights of the True Horn
Mages Guild: Knights of the Lamp
Temples: Knights of the <God Symbol>

Nah this one is just for Morrowind.
NOSTALGIA:
I remember when I first played Morrowind on Xbox. I was blown away. Remember the excitement you'd get when you say some cool tower or whatever on the map and you'd try desparately to reach it just so you could see it? That's how the Shrine of Azura and Mzanch were for me. Funny enough that is not how I felt with Oblivion ever. I take that back, I remember getting excited to see that room turn into butterflies in SI.

Ahh, those where the days... I used to get lost, it was the RPG, really. Or when I'd die, suddenly, by unexpectedly falling into a pool of lava deep in a dwemer ruin. The moment before death, when you'd get really frantic and shocked. Or when you'd feel really helpless sprinting back to Caldera because an alit was chasing you (I later realised that I could defeat them easily at the level that I was on. Don't judge a book by its cover).
Macar: At last, I have a coleague to work with.
