TR_Data Updates Thread

Post by Haplo »

Since TR_Data didn't have a thread here I thought I'd start one for the few(!) remaining updates we have left.

TR_Data.esm and the related data files can be found in the Objects of Tamriel link at the top of the forum.

Each time it's updated, download both TR_Data.esm and TR_Data.7z

You need them both.

Maybe he means the meshes of some Necrom exteriors, my Necrom missed many of them (i use the file that came with Map 1 v1.11 public, don't know if other updates fixes the issue).

There's a bunch of stuff (mostly little tweaks) I want to make, as I've said in my thread about Data. The main physical thing that will add is those nifty statues I planned. Lady N says she should be able to model them at some point in the near future. Once she's done that, Jellew will handle the texturing.

By the way, for the series of tweaks I want to make along with those statues, I wanna get the factions set up properly. This means making them visible to PC, changing names to "Mainland X", and giving the proper faction requirements. I assume I have the green light for that?

I'll just be essentially copying what Crunch did for House Telvanni in the quested version of Map 1 (where HT is a wroking faction).

Decided to remake the post.

Okay, fixed the Orcish halberd, deleted the two KL meshes that were faulty duplicates, added Necrom lighthouse interior mesh, and Necrom lighthouse interior/exterior trapdoor. Also updated the Blue Book of House Dres; it lacks only names and current events now.

Next upload will include either the Necrom interior meshes (retextures of Velothi), the statues, the blue book of house Dres, or any combination of those three. (Preferably all 3)

So what else needs to be done with those Necrom exterior meshes? I would take them as-is. They look great. Certainly better than the ones we have now.

Necrom exterior meshes still need something? I tought everything's got fixed now, and the last thing we needed was the interior tileset. I have been in Necrom by myself and afaik it really should be ok now. Theviking has a vast knowledge about what is needed for Necrom, I'll consult with him if anything more is needed. You know this is really some ancient times stuff to me :P

Possibly. It depends what each map needs. If we can take care of what maps 3 and/or 4 need before we get there, for example, theoretically they won't need an update.

The exterior ones. Those meshes also need to be added to TR_Data. The interiors are now good and fixed, but the exterior still needs work. As of right now, Necrom's exterior is very poor. Some are missing, some don't look good at all, and the temple, well, that's another story.

I was thinking to update the Necrom exterior set to these ones. I thought they were done a long time ago by Veet. It would be a pity to see these meshes go to waste.

ah... you'll have to ask theviking about that. I'm not sure where those are at the moment... I can look starting next week (December 16th week) if no answer is found; I think I might be able to rig those together in a semi-decent shape if I can find them.

Which one are missing for the exterior, Swiftoak? We only need the missing meshes at the moment, we can always update them and introduce the improved meshes in a next beta. I only checked the interiors so far so all that what needed for that has been done so far. I have little knowledge about the exterior ones, but I'm very pleased that everyone refers to me, :)

I doubt it matters which ones are missing. I don't get any yellow-markers in the CS, but some of the walls aren't even there.

I thought the entire exterior set was being redone.

Here are all new exterior meshes, including the wall mesh you are missing, the exterior/interior meshes for the pyramid, the statue, and the Nerevar shrine.

TBH, they don't look any different, except they might be a tad darker.

Thinking of Dres, did Nalion ever hand over that nifty Dres slave-hunter armour he found again? He said he'd been able to recover it.

Okay, on a different note, seeing as the Lady now has her own claim for the statues, I was going to upload my tweaks here. However, in the process of making them, the CS just crashed on me inexplicably. Now everything's lost. I'll redo the tweaky stuff, but I honestly can't be buggered to do the factions again (snore, boring as hell).

To do this, someone must make factions actually have rank requirements (some do already, but these should be checked for correctness compared to their original)

Make faction visible to PC (there's an obvious checkbox)

Make faction interreaction grids (this is a boring task, but what you gotta do is make faction reactions identical to their vanilla counterparts. My recommended factions to have reactions with are IL, IC, TR_EEC, FG, MG, TG, TT, HR, HT, HH, TR_HD, TR_HI. All those without TR before them should be both the vanilla faction and the TR one)

Get 'Mainland' tagged infront of the faction name, so player can tell them apart in the faction window.

Don't do this stuff for HT, however, as they're dealt with in the Map 1 esm.

The other tweaks I'll post here some time soon-ish.

And make sure to fix the typo in the Mages Guild: Master WIzard, and also to correct House Dres ranks (get the Magnates in there as the higher ranks), and to come up with rank names for Indoril. I think a finalised list is in the Indoril thread in Lore and Quests.

A you familiar with the game 'tag', where you run around and tag someone, and the person who does the tagging is 'it'. If you get tagged, then you become 'it'. The person who does the tagging has to do all the work because he has to chase everyone else around.

Therefore here when something needs to be done and there's a couple, or many, people around, and we don't want to do it... we say 'not it', and whoever says it last has to do whatever work needs doing.

Now the orcish Halberd sucks, it should be a reasonably good weapon, just not the best in the game. (look at other orcish weapons to get an idea of the proper power)

Here's the pyramid. I retextured the interior (the modder should feel free to scale it up, it's small...) and did a massive refining for the exterior.

Wasn't it agreed in some point in the past that the pyramid sucks? Can't our CA dudes come up with something a bit more nifty? (Unless it is considered nifty, and I missed the inherant niftiness)

And Sload, what exactly did you fix on the Hlaalu Guards? And yeah, Redoran guards are one of the primary things on my 'fix list'.

Yes, it was said that the pyramid sucks, that's why I retextured the interior and did many changes to the exterior. Anyway, it was fun, even if it's not gonna be used. The new one fits the rest of necrom arch a lot better. Though I can't judge good my own work :P

If I remember what was said via IRC last night correctly, Sload has corrected a little problem the guards had with not existing in TR_Data.
