The new tiles are perfect!
What's the difference between the two meshes? Is it the height of the wall? If so, I'd need to see the two with an NPC for scale before I could comment.

The difference is, that the new cantons floor repeats itself "less"
Look at the floor on the left image, you can see a little lighter "smudge". look a bit farar, and you'll see it again, and again.
On the aro-canton the texture look stretched, it looks bigger, and so the smudge isn't repeated that much.

Ah, right. Both look very good, and to my eyes the effect you're describing isn't that visible on the original one. Maybe it's different when you see it 'in the mesh' (forgive the pun ).
In fact, I'm almost tempted to say the left one looks slightly nicer, but both are absolutely brilliant. See what everyone else says.

This is swiftly becoming a running gag.
But, with regards to black architecture for Dres, that'd be even worse than the outrageous blue we had previously.

It's maybe too much, but well... I've got an idea
The Dres is a traditionalist House right? Many of them still worshiping the Daedra?
Why not change the Tribunal fresco? Instead the TRibunes their Anticipations. The symbols and everything still the same, or very close to the same, just instead Almalexia, Vivec and Sotha Sil -> Boethia , Mephala and Azura.
So? What are you saying?
Edit: phucking spelling/typing

It's a good idea, especially given how the puny count of two different frescoes is going to be tediously repetitive when expanded to all the Temples of the mainland; but the problem is drawing it.Peterboy wrote:Why no change the Tribunal fresco?
I suppose we could abduct MK and force him to sketch stuff for us, though. (I think he made the pictures that got turned into textures. It definitely looks like his style.)
If you think you can get something that is consistent with the existing style yet different, go for it!
For example, there's a mod which added this new fresco. The pic is good, but it's not the same style at all as the existing Temple pictures (as seen on frescos, trioliths, banners) and for this reason I don't like it much, personally.

Lute has MK's style down pat, if you ask me. That or he does a very good 'impersonation'.
Along with buggy doodles, if Lute has time, this could be a thing to do.

No, it was purple. And it screamed 'BARF!' .Gez wrote:Remember the old Dres set, the one that was dropped because the meshes were crap? It had a dark brown/black palette. And while the meshes were crap, the color scheme clicked well IMO.
I like this colouring a lot more. Its nothing like necrom. Have a look and compare the two if you must.

Whilst there's a general lull in discussion that I take to mean people are all happy with the current colour scheme, could we perhaps have a look at various other pieces of Velothi retexed, such as the normal houses, ints etc.?

Very nice! And the doors are looking a lot better now as compared to their 'all blue' counterparts. Excellent work.

Can you get a shot of one of the doors in the correct place on the building? Then we can see whether it looks out of place or not.
And do you have the ints ready as well, or does more work need to be done?

Lovely. Perhaps you could even download one of our current Dres city exteriors* and show how the retex looks. (Presuming you have it set up as a retex right now)

Hmm, yeah. Perhaps use the texture used by the roof (of the first house) on the doorways?Gez wrote:The contrast between the very dirty walls and the very clean doorway arches is a bit strong, IMO.

Thank you Nemon
Yes Gez, I know that, but as a retex, it is using the interior texture, as the normal tileset
While I was making the screens, I've found some undirtified texture (the blocks with the wasp), and that the velothi altar still uses some old texture...
i'll DL the esp's Crustacean, and I'll take some screens from them too, next time

Very nice. We certainly must use blue lightning when making the interiors, because the mages guild looked more different from velothi than the temple. I like the exterior pieces more, though, they are slightly more different than the interior pieces.
Interiors: 25

Wow... Absolutely. Spot. On. Awesome!!!
I really love it, and the engraved wasp on 58 is a masterstroke of texturing, really top-class stuff.
(Could perhaps do with a tad of dirtifying, but only a tad)
My only concerns are the blue doorframes in Vivec's exterior, and the too clean ones everywhere else. Presumably that's to do with how the textures are set up on the vanilla mesh, though, and someone like Aro could change it so that different ones show up in that place?
Finally, the 'bug panels' on the ints, I'm not sure about. I don't know how to do it, but as it stands they just kind of 'appear' on the wall, with no introduction. Maybe if they had a border of some kind, with the normal wall texture surrounding them it would look better.
@ Viking, I actaully prefer the other lighting to the blue stuff. i think it really does something cool to it.

What I meant was (and it may be that this is still impossible, due to texturey stuff I don't understand) take the bug block, and then retexture it so that rather than being one big block of blue with the bugs, that just suddenly 'begins', change the texture so that the outer level of the blue is the same colour as the wall, and create some kind of fancy border there.
Do you get that, or is it impossible?

I think as it stands, it's just a retex, so there aren't any 'new' meshes availiable. It would also probably be best to wait till they're in Data. And they're still not finalised, too, needing possible the odd mesh tweak or stuff.kebra wrote:Great work, you can be proud.
Send the meshes to me to try them on Ald Rothanir or Ald Dwerelyn (one hour for the replacement).
But still, the idea of Kebra exteriors with these textures is

Really? It is exactly the right kind of subtle difference needed, and it is plenty different. If you go overboard with re-texing when what's underneath is just essentially Velothi it would look crap and overdone. This strikes just the right balance, and comes up with its own style.
I think if we get a couple of little mesh tweaks á la Nomadic in there, it'll be totally ace.
And really, I'd say it's better than just using Velothi for House Dres, isn't it?
