Statues of Yokudan Gods

Post by Rhymer »

Hello to everybody. While promoting, I've made a model of the statue of Tava, based on Lutemoth's concept art and got good responces. I'm really grateful to you for such attitude to my humble work. It encouraged me to proceed.

So I want to make some more statues of Yokudan gods. It is not easy now because of extreme lack of time, but it is extremely interesting.

Now I'm working on model of Ruptga. This is my current progress.

PS: My particular gratitude to Lutemoth, whose amasing sketches inspired me to join this project.

The model looks great so far :) However, you're modeling from an old concept of Ruptga.

Check Lutemoth's concept art thread:
http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/old_forum/viewtopic.php?t=15158&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Under "Architecture, Statues, Design " you will find images of the Hammerfell gods. Here are three concepts of Ruptga from that page:

http://img427.imageshack.us/img427/7710/ruptga2oe0.jpg

It is mostly just the head that is different from the concept art you are following.

This Ruptga Lantern uses the new design:

Just ask if you have any questions about concept art. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. :)

I prefer to see uploaded nifs, than screens :) BTW, I would like you to finish the old one first. Mapping, textures, vertex shading. How about it? :)
PoHa: how can we best this trio of trouble? who will save us from this menace of sub-par models? what will we do?
PoHa: I know! we'll shoot an Aro at them
Aro: you have only one Aro missile!
PoHa: yes, but its heat seeking and quite possibly indestructible

Well, I've already talled, that my skills in texturing are really low. I cant create any UVW unwrap of my model! Another problem is a serious bug with exporting my model: after exporting it turns to be separated into some separate elements! I do not know why! While moddeling it was one mesh witout any subdivisons!

And what about new model, I didn't know that it was an old concept, so I suupose I have to give up further working on it and to try anything else.

If you post a copy of your file we can help you with your export problem. ;) Are you using 3dsmax or Blender?

I'm using 3DS Max 9. What file you want me to post - the scene or the model? (*.max or *.obj?)

.obj probably, .max isn't that friendly with non-3dsmax programs IIRC.

Right. Rhymer, just zip together the .max, the .obj and the .nif and upload that. :P

These are the files Gez talled about, namely the .max, the .obj and the .nif.
