Oh how i would love to see an Oblivion screenshot of that very encounter. :)

Here's another Quagmire themed texture experiment:

So I played around with those stone carving concepts from the last page, and here's the first test mesh:

http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/1859/qmrockstatue02gv1.jpg

http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/1277/qmrockstatue04ch7.jpg
http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/7289/qmrockstatue05tm8.jpg

The statue and rocks use a texture I made from a personal photo, so its all 100% TR. Additionally, Eyeball is modeling Lutemoth's Quagmire gate, and we have a rendered grass texture in the works. I've started on a couple landscape textures, but as you can see from the bright blue ground, they are still in the very early stages of development.

Finished off another rock carving. I'm going for that primitive look.

Idea for a quaggie tree. Take the basic tree in any region. Strip it of it leaves. Add an eye and som slime.

And Morden DAMN! love it

Dammit, Elfane! I -more or less- had the same idea. (I'd post it now, but my husband insists I clean the house). The concept rocks, though.

I had a plant just like that one in mind. I called mine "Weeping Lumina" because the eyes would drain fluid, which would be an ingredient. But mine was more like a lichen with many eyes like a coral reef.

EDIT: I found it. Mine is on Page 1, it's scan1

I vaguely recall playing that in '95-'97... (It was in black and white, but with hindsight, I'd say the game looked better that way).

I also liked some of the more outlandish Commander Keen creatures. (the crawling hands that must have been inspired by It from the Addams Family and Theodore Sturgeon).

Just building off of previous ideas.

Question. Any ideas on what the color scheme for Quagmire is or is that undecided?

a lot of people dont hear of jpegs... you should(if you can) import that into Paint, then export it as a jpeg, it should shrink it to measly Kbs. (its 3.6mbs guys, just to let you know, dial-up users beware XD)

though on a more commenty part of the actual CA, I like the runes and the bit on the bottom with the "eye gate"

the gifter looks nice(real nice). some of your writing is a little bit hard to read (even while zoomed) could be just my vision though.
(i think im going a little bit blind, too much computer you see.)

lol. The reason I don't use jpeg is because of the compression. Every time the file is opened and closed it is compressed over and over again. Lots of information is lost and the image loses its quality.

Yeah I'll try and type next time or write in all caps. haha

Welcome to the forums Lighter :) Thanks for uploading your art, its perfect. And thanks for your drawings too Elfane. I see what you mean now about the one statue eating smaller one from behind. It's very creepy. I've added both the files to my Quagmire folder. It's much quicker when you have some designs to work toward.

Lighter, I also like your small menhirs with the 'squiggle script' ;)

Yellow would only be for detail highlights on architecture or objects, ect. Dark blue and black are the order of the day... but truth be told we don't really have a detailed color scheme.

Quagmire

Post by Eldarion »

Right- well I started this concept when this thread had just begun- so consequently it doesn't really fit that well with the other concepts in this thread or with sloads idea of quagmire, but considering I did a fair amount of work on it in the beginning and a bit more to finish it off to a viewable state I decided to post it anyways.

Added a new rock formation that is hopefully closer to what you are looking for.

Here's a new one.

This is an early sketch for a Quagmire fiend, but I am probably not going to finish it so I decided to post it already.

Still very cool artworks; but how strange, eyeball monsters seems to come back to Morrowind and Oblivion from time to time.

Perchance could I get some feedback on the sketch of a rock formation I posted? I will gladly draw up an entire set of similar rock formations (though perhaps more towards the humanoid form rocks already posted)- if I know that it is worth the time and effort to do so.

What would be its purpose (maybe I'm missing something you already wrote)? It's just a rock, or something more?

The quagmire rocks is really cool. The color scheme is right on. It looks like some sort of lava rock formation. The only part which seems unnatural is the top where it begins to curve over itself. Gravity would snap it off. ;)

Are you sure, Morden? If the curve is subtle enough there it wouldn't snap off unless under pressure other than gravity, I think.
