Map question
I'm not sure where to put this but I'll just put it here.
The other day I was looking at some maps at the imperpial library, when i came across this official one from arena, http://imperial-library.info/maps/arena_morrowind.shtml It seems to be a little bit different than the current map of morrowind. What's Stoneforest, Markgran Forest, and Old Run? Even look at ebonheart it looks like it's not even on Vvardenfell. Any reason for the changes or am i just smoking something?

The reason is that Arena was poorly fleshed out and had practically no lore, and that many settlements were lazily named by a random generator. During the development of Morrowind, there was a real work made on the province, and this real work necessarily led to a number of retcons.
Stoneforest: Balmora. Mora means forest and bal means stone. You'll see this in other places. (For example, Sadrith Mora is Mushroom Forest.)
Old Run: Became Ald'Ruhn. While ald means old (see Aldmer, the old elves, not to be confused with Altmer, the high elves), ruhn means home.
Markgran Forest. I'm not sure whether it became Maar Gan or Sadrith Mora.
Cities shifting around: this started here. The old map from Arena was used as a base, but nothing more. you can see Stoneforest changed into Stonewood and was made into a coastal city, for example. On this map you can see that Morrowind's unique background was beginning to settle into place: Mournhold is renamed Almalexia, Vivec (then Vivane) and Sotha Sil get a city each, Port Telvannis is added... At the time, Bethesda was still thinking about having the game cover the whole province. You can see Vvardenfell was pretty desolate.
The map continued to evolve when they decided to focus on just Vvardenfell. The whole province was too much to tackle. As a result, Vvardenfell got a lot of added diversity. A lot more cities and towns, and varied landscapes so as to offer more than just blighted ashlands. Most cities are at their definitive places on this map, but you can see that Ebonheart has not yet jumped over the Inner Sea.
Ebonheart's case is a bit special. First it was on the mainland. Then it was retconned on Vvardenfell. But since it's not a real city on Vvardenfell (one palace, one fort, two embassies, one EEC office and warehouse complex, and one tavern, that's all) it was then re-retconned to be just a "New" Ebonheart serving as the seat of Imperial power for the district of Vvardenfell, while the Old Ebonheart (with a real city this time) was still on the mainland. The two Ebonheart thing is official lore now.

When it's out. We don't have any specific date for future maps. Map 6, being the furthest away, will be the last of the Morrowind Maps (Mohicans) we release. It'll be months to years, we don't have any idea, really.

Months?! I rofl'd.
Months (and that in its largest possible sense) could only be sensibly applied to Maps 1 and 2, and 3 if we all lose our RLs.

a man builds a city
with Banks and Cathedrals
a man melts the sand so he
can see the world outside
"They destroyed Morrowind? Fiddlesticks! Now we're going to have to rebuild it again!"

maps 1 and 2. A release of map 3 would require genetic engineering and more computers.

Mournhold=Almelexia
Why are you remaking Mournhold/Alemlexia? They've already created it in Tribunal, wich you need to open to play the TR files. I know that the whole of Mournhold isn't placed in the real world, but maybe you cold just create high walls, wich you can't fligh over with levetation?
Re: Mournhold=Almelexia
No. They're done Mournhold. We're doing Almalexia.Grandor wrote:Why are you remaking Mournhold/Alemlexia? They've already created it in Tribunal
It's about like if you had a "China" mod and people would say it's pointless to make Beijing because there's already the Forbidden City in the game.
This may help you:
