Hi, i"m new at this so go easy on me. I would like to create landmass for Stroa M'kai. I actually already did but its crappy and not very authentic. But it is becuz it was a modders resource. A big island for modders to mod themselves. But i am best with editing landscapes. I usually try to make a authentic thing. I don't try to make it exact but more or less exact. I split this since it should be a new topic. As for your Stros M'kai, because we already have a heightmap (Stros M'kai included) and the island will be made with resources that have yet to be made, sorry, but we won't use your mod. If you would like to help us however you can submit a portion of your work for us to look over. I wouldn't recommend the full thing as large mods tend to be under detailed (and they are a pain to review)

oh yah and i didn't mean for u guys to use that mod. I put it as an example of some of my mods. O and do tou have the height map of stros mkai for download yet? (asking becaus its my favorite place in all of nirn.)

Heightmap is currently an internal file so it is only accessible to modders.

In the future please edit your posts when they are so close together.

lol, My dad and brother use the "for great justice" all the time. Time to be a real modder for.......Line. xD but anyways just wondering, Is Stros M'kai (land, houses, NPCs, etc) fully done yet?

Stros m'kai is only 4 cells big.
Any other Hammerfell town should be bigger then 4 cells.

Hammerfell.esm is the master plug-in file for our Hammerfell mod. You get it by becoming a modder and claiming an exterior to work on.

First you have to be promoted for that area. Create a sample exterior for us to check out and it will go from there.

ok, here are my comments.

-the mod is dirty. either remove stuff by hand via the Details tab or let a program like Gekko handle it for you.
-i get a "trying to get exterior cell for invalid cell coordinate" error
-also a "could not find cell" error, in regards to an anvil street lamp
-and a "errors were encountered during InitItem for reference" error, in regards to the same lamp.

-your landscape needs A LOT of work. most of it is entirely flat with steep rises and random hills. redguard may have been like this, but that is due to engine limitations. try to make your land look natural. use smooth tool to even out the steepness and the flatness.
-use many varying textures. not all of the city can be paved with the same texture, add in some broken variants of the pavement as well as grass and stuff. same goes for the wilderness, adding different types of grass and dirt will go a long way make it look more natural and interesting.
-some of your objects float (trees, lamps).
-use vertex shading to stimulate shadows. this is done through the edit colors box in the landscape menu. just select a gray color and paint it under objects, such as trees and houses. this will make it look more natural and help the objects to stand out.
-add more detail! this is a bigun, no matter how good your basic landscaping is the detail seals the deal. add crates and sidewalks and fences in the city. add rocks and flowers and more/different trees in the wilderness. basically make it look like a real city or landscape.

you have the basics down, but your work still needs a lot of polishing i think. if you fix up your mod with what i have suggested above you should be well on your way to a promotion.

Please don't promote that sort of thing on the site. Anything relevant from Redguard we already know; no one actually needs to have it.

uh...sorry 0_0 but i found out u can buy it on amazon so take a look on amazon. And it is possible to get it too work on xp (i doubt vista)also even if its not nescessary still

not really necessary. all the info i need can be found on TIL/UESP, or gotten from other members. the fact that it ocured 350 years in the past also diminishes its significance and leaves lots of room for interpretation.

i'll still be working on stros m'kai but prolly will not post it for a while. T_T

Well it took a month and 24 days but i gots a new drive

And instead i made something else. Its called island of the gods. (stros mkai is taking forever)
