Stuck in Mithras questline - ACTUAL BUG

Post by Aeson93 »

BC: For the fixer on our side, please change the conditions on Mithras' "here's the job" line in 'recruit some miners' to be identical to those of the below "I would give you the job but finish with Azariah's pickaxes first" (apart from the >= 50 bit, of course.

Gracias.

OP: Okay, so I doing the shipment of pickaxes ane the petition parliament quests concurrently. after placing the order for the pickaxes, I left for PT. When I returned, Mithras said he has another job for me, but that I should go finish the pickaxe thing. So I did, but now Mithras won't give me the quest. He had the default "look, I'm busy..." greeting and has no usefull dialogue topics...

Any thoughts? Did I just miss something?

BC EDIT for great justice/fixage

Could you perhaps give me your latest Mithras related journal entry, and a direct quote from Mithras' "too busy" line (unless what you've got above is)?

Thanks for the response, BC.

Ok...looking over my journal, I find the last Mithras-related entry:
Master Mithras told me that I needed to finish my work regarding the shipment of pickaxes for Azariah Thelas before we could begin his next idea.
Now, this seems to imply that I should talk to Azariah, but when asked about the shipment of pickaxes, all he says is:
So the shipment was attacked, was it? Well, these things happen. I would reward you, but I just don't seem to have anything to hand, A shame.
I get no journal entry from this. Now, I'd gotten this already:
Kobin Delas thanked me for returning the shipment safely, and told me he would take the pickaxes to Mirisum Varen as soon as possible.
I had figured that to be the end of that, but still when I talk to Mithras, he says:
Look, Aeson, I'm running Ranyon-ruhn and the mine. If I run out of time the mine will run out of buisness and Ranyon-ruhn will run out of life. As you can surely understand, we're running on a tight schedule, so unless you aren't here to just waste my time aimlessly, I suggest you leave.
[Indicates dialogue topic]

My disposition with Mithras is 83/100; I hold the rank of Lawman.

Hope all this tells tou what you need to sort me out; I've really enjoyed the quests so far. Great work, everyone.

Maybe you need to talk to the mine workers boss in the mine or the guard Simeth in the Ranyon Ruhn guard tower. That worked for me in the questline.

I don't remember that EXACT quest, but I just remember finding the shipment, getting the journal entry saying I've collected all the pickaxes, returning them, and heading on with the Mithras questline. Did you collect ALL the pickaxes?

Ah, right.

I checked it out, and this is a bona fide bug.

To fix, for yourself, type "setjournalindex TR_m1_RR_MQ_4 10" in the console and then talk to Mithras about 'recruit some miners'.

For the fixer on our side, please change the conditions on Mithras' "here's the job" line in 'recruit some miners' to be identical to those of the below "I would give you the job but finish with Azariah's pickaxes first" (apart from the >= 50 bit, of course.

For some explanation, basically the 'here's the quest' line relies on you only having just been told about it. If you were behind in Azariah's quests, it gave you an extra journal entry, which then threw the filter on the proper entry, preventing progress in the quest.

I don't know if it's relevant but I completed all his quests without getting stuck. Just to throw out there that it is possible.

Of course it's possible to do, or it wouldn't have made it through testing, but here's what went wrong in this case.
