so, ive wanted to have a formal voice acting try out. however, i realy didnt know what to say. so, i just spoke yoku
http://media.putfile.com/Lady-N-speaking-Yoku
here is the text:
Tua jakati. Du-Raha tua bokti, cha du-Morwha, donei dogoti yaio dia yainu durada zhungai dodimansao mogoti (sata paral, sata maral cha satak doswasa dualik' cha dodisata) tua nazati. Ulikoikoi, tua embosti, tako arán du-Sura leek'a si; du-Bend'r-i, Zerava-Radun do-No-Totambu dongsei. Dogo Cyrus Kolovu namba.
that is prety much my natural voice (barring any alterations i make by instict when recording). i dont think i could do any of the races, wich is why i would much rather do someone unique (eg. a daedra or redguard god).
i recorded that on my laptop, so the quality is worse then it would be. critique ahead!

Hey, that's really cool. Did Sload coach you on that or did you choose to do certain things (like dentalizing the t's) that made it sound really convincingly foreign. I'm pumped about having some old yoku in the game.
As for your voice, there's certainly nothing wrong with the quality of the voice, but it does (as always seems to be the problem) have a bit of a young quality to it- but that's not that much of a problem as there are some younger characters, and shifting the pitch down a little does help (as we did with Massey)
To really judge what races you could do, however, I would need to hear something in English Also- you say that the recording, "isnt as good as it could be" dose that mean you have access to a better mic? if so I'd like to hear that as well.
PS- I'd like to take a stab at the same text if you don't mind? I dont want to step on your toes since I'm assuming you wrote it?

A miracle has occured, and for the first time in centuries, putfile works!!!
I think your voice would do exellent for an Redguard goddes, but like Macar, I would have to hear some english to see what race you could be belonging to. I think that it would be great if somewhere in the main quest, a female character would (in the middle of dialouge) have their eyes go white in a trance and your voice would come through. I think it would be good if a goddes was trying to tell you a prophecy and then you'd need a translator to tell you what that means, in the midst of another quest in the MQ.
My heads a little dizzy now, but all I can say is keep it up and record something in English

Cool! Is there any specific race you would like the Voice Act LN? There's definitely an opening for female elves, redguards and beastmen, although they'll probably require you to be rather gruff since they all sound rather mardy/smoked.
And of course there's the characters system too, where you could play important/distinctive characters/groups with their own voices.

P.S. Please don't make handbags, wallets, belts or shoes out of Orix

the text is Sura Cha Vehk, the yoku translation of Lord Vivec's Sword Meeting with Cyrus the Restless by Sload. he takes all credit for that wonderfull translation. as for phonetics, sload discused them in IRC a long time back. for things i didnt know i just made it up to sound as cool and yoku as i could. there is a video of an NPC in Redguard speaking yoku, you could check that out for some general sound advice.
as for the quality issue, i was recording it on my computer using my headphones as a mic. if i pluged the mic into the mic slot of gave me soooo much feedback and stuff for some reason. i think if i recorded the file with an actual sound program (like Goldwave wich i have) on my main computer it should sound better.
