Should I finish it?

A mod manager would be awesome.

I may use it from time to time.

I don't really have any use for a mod manager.

Introducing the Morrowind Mod Manager version 3

Post by Enlil »

Well...almost introducing. I have a bit of coding left to do. What I want to know before I get into the nitty-gritty of the code in the program is...does anyone still play this game and would you benefit from a well-built, FULLY functional mod manager for TES III.

I have put about 60 or so hours into this thing already but it is still going to be a good 20-30 more hours of coding and so I thought I would ask before I finished to see if it is worth my time.

Thx,
Enlil.

I'm satisfied with Wrye Mash... What would your mod manager do, exactly?

It lists all available info about the mod as well as screen shots on one page. Has a drop-down list for sorting mods by type. Show installed and uninstalled mods. Allows you to browse and download more mods. Installs and uninstalls mods, shows conflicts and allows author contact. Best of all though, it will work with ALL non-exe based mods.

Sounds cool, although I haven't modded for MW in a while.

I mod for morrowind a lot. I would probably use your program, although I would be able to get along well enough without it (from what you describe that it does). You have put a lot of work into it, and I would suggest finishing. However, your audience won't be quite as big as could be expected a year or two ago.

Post this on the Official Forums and I think you'll get a lot of interest. There's a number of people who got used to OBMM and want something similar for Morrowind. I know I'd download it.

Perhaps I have not been very clear about its function. It is not for mod developers but, rather, for those who play Morrowind using mods. This program manages the installation and uninstalling of those mods and prevents conflicts.

Then it would be better asked in the official forums, rather than the forums of a modding community.

A mod manager for Morrowind would be awesome. :D It would help all of the people like me who try and have WAYYY too many mods loaded/installed at the same time. Also, if you finish it, where are you going to upload it so everyone else can get it?
