The pottery should be less symmetrical. Its too well crafted.

I dont agree. Who said that Dunedwellers are bad craftsmen?
If you have a look at RL nomads they are usually very good craftsmen. Making beutiful jewelery, pottery & metalworks. Often very detailed and good quality.

WOW! i cant wait for this to become a reality!
i always wanted a nomadic desert type deal in morrowind or oblivion. the ashlanders were cool, but the dunedwellers are amazingly awesome.

possibility of a dunedweller faction?
would be cool to do alot of quests in the desert

absolutely LOVE! these concept drawings!

I'll half agree with Sload. Not that their pottery should not be symmetrical and well crafted, but that one pot looks too much like a Greek amphora to me...

i must say that, that spine sword is totally FREAKING awesome.
if that doesnt go in. im going to make everyone perform sepuku... hehehe. i joke, but those weapons are damn nice, i love the markings on them... makes them form more of a 'set'
adding weights onto the weapons makes sense and it fits well with the rest of the weapons. perhaps the skull decorations could be protective helmets.. or something... for war... oh well... nice job LTS... nice job...
theviking and MowSkwoz have it in theirs... soo: "We need quest designers!" - Stolen From teh Cutness.

I guess this one goes into the clutter thread. This is an ornate urn, carefully carved by a skilled potter.

I imagine the size of it not to exeed it still beeing suitable to pouring wine or absinth or whatever our dear Redguards prefer.

Thank you all.

I'm unstickying this because it's quite complete already and knida low priority right now. If you have more things to contribute you can of course do so; but right now I'd prefer to get instead more concept for the Hammerfell city & road clutter. :)

The gourds are a good idea Lighter.. its funny that we've never really considered making unique food for Hammerfell.

Ok, the amphora is a bit too much greek/roman. Take those away... I agree. It was accualy the amphora holder that was the real idea.

Lighter Than Some - Gourds! Yes-s-s-s, I like.
Red Hot Chili Peppers FTW!
Your pottery is very nice, like it more than mine actually. *me takes away #1&3 from his dunedweller collection, but keeps the patterns*
The cactii pear makes me think of something like the rambutan fruit.

I'd figure that they might keep fruit bearing cacti like we keep tomatoes.

This should be remedied. Food is such a big part of a new land's flavor (bad pun assumed) that it's not something we can neglect for Hammerfell. Could you imagine Morrowind without kwama eggs, scrib jerky, saltrice and wickwheat?

I actually also have some old pictures of fruit etc. which I posted a while back. (Strangely enough there's even a gourd. :P ) I could post those up again... But I'm assuming that it will have to be done in another thread. Is it too low of a priority at the moment, or might a thread be a good idea?

If you want to do Hammerfell fruits and food, it should go in the Hammerfell stuff thread. This one is for Dunedweller-specific stuff.

Ok. Dunedweller ceremonial weapon. Blade of steel, handle and sheath of ivory.

These are part of a second set of weapons. The first ones I posted were crude Dunedweller weapons. This is a more refined set.

I'm not sure about number 4 (counting from left). It looks like it would fall apart with the first slash... The dagger on the right is exactly the opposite of it. Can't wait for the blunts!

Good. Need to weed out some of them. Can't have 40,000 shortblades of the same set lol. Only need one or two. The fused breast or pelvic bone of some ancient reptile could make for a good blunt. A mace or ax maybe.

Food yes! I'd always avoided it, becuase the only way you can clearly represent a culture is with recipes, and it's difficult to place a stew in Oblivion. But I am sure they have unlevened bread. Something easily preserved and that wouldn't be too bulky.

Tent is awesome lighter. And the blades are also awesome.

CAn't wait to see what else you ahve to show us. How do you do them by the way? Really sharp pencil on a large scale? Becuase otehrwise I don't know how you cram so much detail in there.

I do a light sketch with a regular slightly dull pencil, erase fuzzies and use a .2 mechanical pencil for the final lines or a .2 micron. I use printer paper lol.

I love food. I've been working on a few pages of it including regional only things like seafood. Meat, vegetable and fruit jerky I could see highly present too.

The two daggers on the right are superb. They're both simple, yet solid designs. The swirly designs could also be switched out for Satakal patterns when it's time.

Hi

Post by Jewels »

Hey. I'm new here. This is my first post. I'm not that good at concept art, but I try my best.

Here are some swords, probably not dune-dweller weaponry though.

---------

---------

-Jewels

P.S: Are Dune Dwellers, sort of like the bandits of Hammerfell? Attacking you on site?

No, they're more planned to be like the ashlanders of Morrowind: some may be hostile, but the largest camps will be peaceful.

EDIT: And now some armor. This is my first try at that. Here is some armor that perhaps would belong to a Dune dweller noble.
