That is an interesting Idea of how SS could look; Indeed, the dunmer could very much humanise him. My only problem is that just seeing those pic you wouldn't guess its him.

Otherwise, your stuff is Great, Jellew! :)

from the very little reference pictures(almost only blurry shrine textures) I tried to make the shield and helmet look like it whas shown, the other things are just pure guessing.

When I say Sotha Sil I always think about something like this:

And after I see that, Almalexia shows up and kills my old character :D

I like the poses, the only thing that needs working on is getting the mask looking more like the one of the dead Sotha (but not broken)

For an excellent piece of artwork, try asking some of the literature guys about the book "Greatest Mages of Tamriel", which came with an excellent depiction of Sotha's helm from Dexter. Try and use that as your base image for the helm, perhaps.

Here's how I think he looked when he was still alive. I made the face by using photoshop on a picture of how Sotha Sil looked like in game without the mask. A modder, (I think his name is/was Oriphier), made armour from Sotha Sil's metallic parts. Only the greaves, cuirass and helm actually come from Sotha Sil. Now, how do you do hyperlinks in this forum?

Gnomey, make the ears pointier -- Dunmer tasty pointy ears :]

Otherwise, to make the lower legs, just cover up the empty space around his crotch and add bonemold boots or sommit like that :)

Actually, though some hanging wires and, (I think) a few more metal parts are missing, especially from his arms, not to mention the fact that he doesn't have the long pink fingernails, his body is exactly how the live Sotha should be, according to what I can see of his mangled corpse. The ears have only been changed in colour. If you want to make a true to life statue that is probably the closest concept you'll find for him. You could go for a more stylistic look, of course, and I wouldn't mind that either.

I might make another picture with him wielding a spear and wearing the mask, but really that can be done by anybody who has OR's mod and can do enough modding to move body parts around. :P Anyway, as you mentioned, it looks as though his upper legs are actually not part of the body. I guess he cut it all of, or somehow lost it all. If there weren't any restrictions to polies, (and you wouldn't mind the work), I'd suggest that you have temple believers clinging to his lower body to make up for the lack of legs, while he "guard"s them with a spear or staff or whatever weapon you give him, if any. As it is, I guess that stylizing him is the only thing you can do, though in the temple images he seems to not only have any lower legs, but no arms as well.

Edit: Now that I look at the picture of the dead Sotha Sil again, he seems to have lost his left arm too. I wonder whether he did something like Fyr when he was working on his perfect little world, but used so much of his body for science that he had little left by the end. (If that was too vague, I meant Fyr making his daughters from parts of himself, the skin I think).

I love that mountain pic, it catches the feel of a deserted rock-and-sand environment very well.

I have been drawing much lately, and I decided to try some CA again. I had some ideas about the contents of sewers in Hammerfellian cities (besides the obvious stuff :P). With that I mean the inhabitants. I was thinking some sort of rat-abiding scary cult would be nice. It's my first try with an ink-pen-thing, so it looks a bit strange :D

First of all a male member of the cult; I tried to visualize a rat-symbol at his axe and shield. I imagine this sewer people to have certain scary rituals where they kill a member of another "clan", sacrifice it, and let it get eaten by the rats. (a bit like the Aztecs did with other tribes nearby and vica versa)

please click the thumbnails since it looks better in full size. (or my eyes are just to messed up)

And of course the rat; it doesn't have hairs. I imagine HF sewers as hot but wet, slimey areas, and I thought this would fit in that picture.

they're about as big as vanilla rats, are slower, but carry more and more serious diseases.

that's it for now. Looking forward to reactions and critique :D

Do they praise rats? :P They look to me like a crossover of goblins and redguards.

And I was eating supper when you linked on IRC to that pink mad little thing! :/ You made a big step forward since you joined, Jellew. BTW, head over to your furniture claim ;) I have a request there waiting for you.

I drew this a while ago, but only scanned it in and coloured it today. To bad the quagmire fcg is locked, I know this is pretty useless ATM but maybe it can be of any use in the future.

I dunno if I would like it to have a blue penis with some bad STD-looking shit on it and pubes coming out on top but maybe that actually makes it so surreal and nightmarish. Soo.. that's about how I want it to be. Thank you for using your poetic skills to describe it so accurate :P

I believe I actually had a nightmare about something like that once. Nevermind that though.

Maybe we should divide Quagmire into Freudian and Jungian realms, like Mania and Dementia. Or maybe not.

I thought psychologists are supposed to solve nightmares, not to create them :P

Anyway, I have a little HF-related idea. It's about "house-gods". With that I mean "Small" gods dedicated to a subject usual people can refer easily to in their daily life, like gods for food, a good harvest, etc.(A bit like in Hindu traditions) These gods didn't do anything ubercool, they are just "guardians" of aspects of daily life. People praise them by buying relatively small statues, which can be bought in "spiritual shops". A bit like in ancient times, where people bought statues of gods in shops to.(Certain Christian and Muslim prophets and leaders ruined or forbode shops dedicated to "god statues") When bought they place them in their house and praise them by burning nice-smelling herbs next to them, or something similar. These statues are made from any material, logically the UC people have them made from expensive materials like gold or high-quality polished wood, while the lower classes buy or make them themselves out of clay or a similar material.

so, I drew a little "housegod" yesterday. I meant it to be the housegod of "prosperity and well-fedness".

Looking forward to hear your opinions. (even if I'm getting flamed becouse of lameness :P)

It's more profitable if they create them. A cured customer is no longer a customer. :]

Good idea. Redguards have a few important gods (Tu'wacca, Ruptga, Tava, etc.), and countless unimportant ones so it fits well. I like the design as well, it incorporates nicely the elements of Yoku god design as defined by Lutey with the theme of a happy well-fed Buddha. :)

I drew some stuff in the weekend, but unfortunately I dont have access to a scanner ATM so I just made pics with my camera. I will colour and clean them up once I got them scanned in.

housegod of water(would be cool is someone could think up yokudan sounding names for this stuff)

housegod of water, small stone statue with glass as "water"(the little tube/line/whatever thingy going down from his upperhand to his lowerhand) going into the bowl. the bowl itself contains real water.

lantarn for LC districts. Attached to the wall with 2 ropes, stick made from bamboo, lantarn made from clay in a very basic, fast to produce shape. Little decoration stuff under it made from seashells.

I like them. Don't hesitate to browse this old thread for more inspiration. I was reminded of it because your God of Outkeeping made me think of Natawo, the God of Don't Go This Way. :)

Thanks for your replies :), I did some new stuff but unfortunately I have to wait another day before I can scan them so I just made some pics for now.

My good paper was up to so the ink went a tad crappy.

2 of my visions on the God of Talks to the Death(minor crappy drawn boob alert, srry for that)

failed attempt on furniture:

the hand looking thingy's supposed to be a hand conisting of keys and a keylock. Painted or carved at lockable stuff with many valuables. I chosed to make the chair still mainly from bamboo and reeds, but with some brass elements and more complex shapes. The small cabinet is mainly for valuable stuff, and made primarely from wood.

It's cool. A nice decorative design, a workable shape; the only way in which it's failed is that it's not in the FCG! :P

new stuff, I have acces to my scanner again.

I tried to think up something like a Dunedweller Shaman, but it should be named something way more "alien" sounding and cooler IMO.

I love the Shaman. The elbow swirl tattoos are a nice touch.. they match lutemoth's designs. The underarm piercings are also cool. There is information about the devotees of Satakal at the Imperial library. Macar has also done a drawing of his own if you care to look it up.

thanks for the comments :). I kinda forgot about my CA thread but I experimented a bit with crayons. It's mostly crap but I hope I'm still improving.

A type of shack built near rivers, made from dried river clay reinforced with straw. The inhabitants live from growing wheat, hunting, fishing, and keeping cattle. Meat and fish are hanging at a rope for drying at the roof(and out of reach for most animals), and some shacks have little "towers" to store wheat.

fortress in a mountainous region. I got some inspiration from the dunmer forts used in morrowind.

Wow. Using crayons of all things. I really dig that fort and could see it someone in the Dragontail.

One question though regarding the hanging meat outside. Wouldn't the creatures that could get the meat include harpies?
