Myzel
Short version: I'm a Dutch student of history, and I've joined this project about a month ago to contribute with Concept Art.

Long version: I've played both Morrowind and Oblivion, and I have actually been aware of TR's existence for several years I think. At the time my unstable and mod-burdened Morrowind installation didn't agree with the early BETA of Map 1, so I left it at that. The thought of joining the project never even crossed my mind.

That changed less than a month ago, when I suddenly wondered where TR would be now, after all this time. I checked the website again, and for the first time I noticed that the project uses concept art. I looked around and saw amazing and professional-looking art (like everyone here I seem to have fallen in love with Lute's designs), and I wanted to be a part of that team.

Drawing has been my hobby since I was a little kid; anything from small comics to large, delicate pencil drawings. No one ever really got to see the things I drew and I didn't do anything with them, so I'd been neglecting that hobby in favor of study, other projects and a girlfriend who also needs some attention from time to time. TR provided me with an excuse to start drawing some more. Now there is a chance that my art will actually be useful to someone, and better yet, that I will have a creative impact on something bigger than me. That's a really exciting thought.

I loved Morrowind's atmosphere and story, but I prefer most gameplay aspects of Oblivion. (Yes, jeer if you must.) It seems to me that TR is the perfect opportunity to fix one of the two lackluster parts of Oblivion: storytelling/world creation. Hopefully, it will someday be possible to combine the finished province of Hammerfell with a mod that fixes the levelling system, Oblivion's other big problem.

Someday, I will reinstall Morrowind and play through all of TR's mods. But for my modding work, it's hard enough to keep track of just one CS and one province's lore. I'm a new modder and just finished my first TR claim, a quest set in Cyrodiil itself. If I had known how much time I would spend on it, I might not have started. Still, it was a good learning experience, and perhaps things will grow easier with time.

I found out about TR through its connection with the Chorrol.com writing contest. Although my writing didn't place there or get used here, I found that there were jobs within TR that I could do and to which I can bring some small degree of talent.

I prefer to work on a massive project like TR, because it allows me to cherrypick the fun bits (scripts and stories) and skip the parts I find boring (exteriors) or difficult (music). In a small team, my attitude might be deeply resented, but TR seems to be big enough for a wide range of modders.

You'd be surprised what would happen if you'd post in L&W. :P

Well, once we get Stirk out the door, maybe I'll give Lit another shot.

Well, screw it. It's late, I'm awake, so here goes:

I'm Faalen (one of several usernames I use frequently), and I mod for Morrowind; I'm on a Dell Dimension desktop from about 2002, so I couldn't run Oblivion even if I wanted to. I'm one of the handful of active questers, and I've been with the project since June 18, 2008 (about two-and-a-half months at time of writing). The first I heard of TR was a derogatory comment on another forum; it was something along the lines of "TR's a joke that'll never get finished." The concept, however, sounded very interesting, so I dropped by the site to check out the "joke" for myself, and I must say, the screenshots I found looked anything but humorous (this was before the Map 1 beta, so screenshots were the only things to see). The attention to detail and sheer scope of the mod were very impressive, but I had sincere doubts as to its chances of completion, so I decided not to get involved. Fast-forward a few months, and I hear that there's been a release from the Tamriel Rebuilt team. Needless to say, I ate it up. It did just what it said on the tin, and did it very well. I was even more impressed with the second beta; the quests were interesting and original, funny and exciting at times, serious and intense at others--basically everything one could want from a good story. It was around that time I started kicking around the idea of joining up and helping out. I started working on my Construction Set skills, and when I felt I was ready, I posted up a showcase and got promoted for quests. I haven't finished any claims yet, but the one I'm working on is pretty big. It's Archmagister Dral's Telvanni Master Quest, and it involves a good deal of mystery and intrigue. It also involves the single most impressive piece of interior work I have ever seen in my life. It's the pocket realm made by Hemitheon, and it is a beauty. I won't give spoilers here, but I must say it is definitely worth playing a Telvanni character just for the time you get to spend in that realm. It's an honor to be allowed to bring life and story to such a place, and it's a responsibility I take very seriously.

I'm willing to stick with this mod to the end, and I really hope others join who are willing as well. A project of this scope and significance cannot be allowed to go out with a whimper. The leadership here, while not always united, always does what's best for the project overall, and that's more than can be said for most real-world occupations. I haven't been around long enough to develop a rapport with any of my fellow modders, but that's something I hope to remedy with time. My favorite thing about coming to this site is seeing the camaraderie between the tenured members, and even getting in on it in some small way.

In real life, I do my best to keep busy; boredom is a powerful and ruthless nemesis, and one that I've spent most of my life fighting. To make money with which to buy things, I work as a game technician at a video arcade/family fun center (we've got bumper cars, go-karts, mini-golf, that kind of thing), which usually entails kindly telling customers who are having a problem that they are operating a machine incorrectly. My actual occupational choice is in the field of music. I'm currently attending school for a Bachelor of Music Education degree, and hope to get a Bachelor of Trombone Performance after that. I may move on to Master's and Doctorate degrees, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

the_cosmonaut: I mod for Morrowind (Oblivion? Is there a TES:IV?). I create interiors, and I'd like to become a quester in the future, once I learn how quests work.

I discovered Morrowind a year ago, when I found it really cheap and bought it compulsively (my intention was buying a music CD). I don't remember where I found TR, probably in the official forums or browsing mods at PES, but I wasn't interested at first. Then the Map 1 quested beta was released and I decided to give it a go. I loved it because it's big, lore friendly and high quality.

I joined TR a month ago, because I think the best part of TES games is discovering new places and doing completely different things every time you start a new character, and TR creates a lot of new possibilities for that.
Ok, let's be honest: I joined TR because I couldn't find a way to force the existing modders to work faster.

I can't say much about my relationship with the team as I'm new here, but in my experience they are always ready to help you improve.

Right now, I'm working on an eggmine for map 4. I've just started, so I only know that it's going to be big.

--figured that I've been around long enough that I should contribute something to the blog here, so here goes:

Hi. My name's Zach, I go by Zalzidrax on the forums, and I've been modding for TR off and on for a long time; it's probably been about five years now. I've seen the project evolve, and change a lot over that period of time, and most importantly progress towards actually creating mods that people can actually play and enjoy. So I figured I should get over my habitual reticence and help out with our blog here by giving an interview.

What game do you mod? And what area of TR do you work on?
Though I have both Morrowind and Oblivion, I currently mod for Morrowind doing interiors and exteriors, though I've got enough knowhow to throw in a few scripts. I might eventually help out with the Oblivion side of things but right now I'm concentrating on Morrowind because so many people, over 100 by now, that I've modded with have put so much hard work into the project, and I want to see their work brought to the point where it can be released publicly for everyone to enjoy.

How long have you been with the mod?
Like I said in my intro, I've been working off and on for five years come this December. Graduating from college and getting my physics degree was my first priority, so there were times when I had to focus on that instead.

What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR?
I don't honestly remember exactly how I found out about TR, but one of the things that sparked my interest in Morrowind was the promise of having a construction set to play with and create things with. I've always been an inveterate tinker, and my favorite toy ever since I can remember has always been Lego, so the prospect of building something was at least as appealing as the game world itself. Until I got a computer that could run it I had to be content with the x-box version and dream about all the cool things I could create if I only had the construction set.

The day that the GOTY edition came in the mail after I got my new laptop was, and I feel nerdy for saying this but I got to be honest, one of the happiest days I can remember. It wasn't long until I found the Tamriel Rebuilt project, thought it was totally awesome. It also seemed totally crazy and Quixotic endeavor, but that only made it even more appealing to me, so I immediately claimed a small section of land (things were a lot less organized in those days) and went to town.

What are you working on right now?
Ooh, it's very cool. It's a neat little, well not so little, underground cave complex with diverse environments and all sorts of little nooks and crannies to explore. I really like how its turning out, I've had a lot of fun using the glowing mushrooms from Morrowind to make places look very surreal and pretty.

What are your hopes for TR’s future?
Well that we get maps released for people to play with. And that there are still people around who enjoy it.

What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.?
Well its a heck of a lot more organized and a bit rigid compared to the days when I started. And part of me chafes at that because my creative side especially likes to roam free and do its own thing and I think can work along with a bigger vision.

But I can also see why it's necessary. The quality and consistency of this project has improved by leaps and bounds, and I think a lot of that is due to the fact that we've managed to organize things a bit better and get people headed more in the same direction as far as vision and quality goes. I do think we could work on putting together people's creativity with respect to the stories modders are telling not just through quests and dialogue, but through the feel and the little touches that give the exteriors and interiors character. I think we could do better at making people think about how their work ties into and affects the greater whole as they are building their individual part.

What is your favorite area of the maps?
I can't really say--it always seems like I'm coming across a new area, creative touches that are just plain cool whenever I take a look over the different maps. There's so much that I wouldn't even know where to start, and I probably haven't seen half the things that have been made yet. The creativity of so many of the modders that have contributed to this project never ceases to amaze me.

What do you do when not modding?
Well currently I'm working a factory job to earn money for grad school. When I'm not working, I can be found playing video games, hanging out with friends, or reading. I like camping, hiking, and the outdoors too, when I can fit it into my schedule.

Is there anything else you want to say?
Well in closing, I'd just like to give a thank you to all the people who've contributed to this project in the past and those who are continuing to work on the project, and also to all those in the MW modding community who've had the courage to put out the efforts of their creativity for others to see and enjoy-and be inspired by.

And remember, even though we don't hand out claims to people with no modding experience right off the bat anymore (apparently that doesn't always end well), TR is still an open project that anyone can contribute to. Feel free to come on down to our forums and start a showcase, show off your stuff or get help learning the construction set, and say hi. Even if modding isn't your thing, questions, comments and critiques are always welcome, so stop on by!

What game do you mod?
I mod for Morrowind only. At the current moment I can't imagine ever modding for Oblivon.

What area of TR do you work on?
I've tried making literature and I might do interiors someday, but I primarily do Exterior Detailing [NPCs]. I will likely end up doing quests as well, but I'll need to learn scripting first.

How long have you been with the mod?
I became a TR Modder about a month after I first joined, so that would be nearly 3 months.

What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR?
Back when I first started playing Morrowind 2 years ago I found out about this site via the imperial library. I decided to check how it was going and it turned out Map1 was released. So I played it, loved it, but was disappointed with the fact there was little unique dialogue. I decided to join and ended up learning how to do dialogue.

What are you working on right now?
One of the 2 current detailing claims for Map3. Mine has Akamora and Dun Akafell, while the other has Necrom. Currently I'm still in the NPC placing/creation phase.

Optional:
What are your hopes for TR’s future?
I hope to see the other Map3 claims open up within a month or two, and to help with creating the Indoril questlines and characters. A bit further on, I aim to do the same for the Hlaalu.

What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.?
I think progress is going quite well, and once Map2 is released I hope we'll get a few more scripters and NPC makers to speed up the eventual release of Map3.

What is your favorite area of the maps?
Almalexia of course is an awesome city, but I also like the smaller towns, such as Gorne Village and Sailen Vulgate. One of my favorite areas in Map3 is the huge swampland that stretches from Seyda Vano to Darnim Watch. Other than that, I really like the road from Firewatch to Ranyon-ruhn and the area east of Almalexia.

What do you do when not modding?
Stuff.

What is your real life occupation?
Person that goes to school.

What is your favorite thing about TR?
The expansion of my English vocabulary.

Gah! I nearly missed the Blog Bus.

Who are you? What do you do?

I am Obagovo. I joined TR about 5 months ago. I currently do only concept art but I am trying to expand my horizons into modeling and textures.

Which game do you mod?

I wouldn't really say I mod mod, but since my art has been Hammerfell focused, Oblivion.

What drew you to Tamriel Rebuilt?

Does the awesomeness of Lutemoth's art count as a reason?

I played Oblivion for a few months, and one day I wondered if there were any good mods out there, so I headed off to a few sites, I saw TR, and I took a look at the site. I always had considered going into the mod community, and I guess TR was the final push.

What are you currently working on?

Right now, I am designing furniture for the Hammerfellian middle class.

What do you do in real life?

Currently, I am a student and lifeguard.

What game do you mod? (MW/OB/Both)

I write literature for the Oblivion project.

What area of TR do you work on? (eg. Interiors, Exteriors, literature)

Literature.

How long have you been with the mod?

Not very, since the middle of summer I suppose.

What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR?

The massive size of the mod was outstanding, and the fact that TR is a team of writers/modelers/etc made me want to join. I found out about TR while talking with Lady Nerevar at another forum.

What are you working on right now?

I’m not really working on anything right now. For now I’m just reviewing other’s literature work when I get the chance. I check for things like typos and that kind of stuff.

What do you do when not modding?

I like to write, so that’s pretty much it. Oh….and I like to watch the Green Bay Packers pwn.

What is your real life occupation?

I am a Freshman in college.

What game do you mod?
Considering my graphics card is not godly, I only mod Morrowind. I fell in love with the game a long time ago too.

What areas of TR do you work on?
I work on the interiors only so far, but whenever I get the time I have considered trying my hand at the reviewer's test again.

How Long have you been with the mod?
I have been a TR Modder since maybe a month before April, but it seems like that was forever ago now.

What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR?
I came about this mod first when looking at the highest rated downloads at planet elder scrolls I believe. And The idea of helping make the mainland infatuated me, as I used to swim endlessly in the sea trying to find some secret location. Of Course there was none.

What are you working on right now?
Right now I am taking a small break for school studies. But I should be back to modding in November.

A bit about myself:
I am a student at a public high school in the U.S. and it is my last year. I plan to go to a 4 year college in-state, and hopefully major in History, Programming, or Music. I still cannot decide.

What game do you mod?
I have Both MW and Oblivion but only mod for Oblivion at this point, primarily because i dont have bloodmoon for MW but also because i never figured out the TES3 CS.
What area of TR do you work on?
I was promoted out of the huddled masses for my interiors (thanks again LN). But I'm working on up-skilling to do Exteriors too. Will also try to contribute to concept art as soon as i find a more reliable way of putting my stuff on the computer (holding the pictures up against the screen doesnt seem to be working).
How long have you been with the mod?
Week? week and half now? Not really sure, i have odd sleeping habits and loose track of time easily.
What drew you to TR?
The chance to contribute to something big.
How did you find out about TR?
Saw it on PES and followed the links.
What are you working on right now?
An exterior showcase while i wait for interior claims to become available.

What are your hopes for TR’s future?
To finish? Is that to simple? I guess the reasoning behind that is a desire to see the general public enjoying what we have created.
What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.?
Hammerfell is still far too ealy stage to comment on, but looks promising.
What is your favorite area of the maps?
Map9, Stonegate, more because of what I've added to the surronding area, but its still cool even without my stuff (the Black road actually leads somewhere! Yay!)
What do you do when not modding?
Eating, sleeping, wandering around aimlessly, you know, the classics :D Enjoy a good book (C.S.Forester's Hornblower series is a personal fav) and also collect both warhammer and 40k (Empire and Orks respectively).
What is your real life occupation?
I like to think of myself as a freelance journalist.
Talk about personal history at TR and interaction with people, core and modders both.
Umm, Lady Nerevar is the one who thought i had enough talent to join this little circus. But other than that I'm still too new to actually KNOW anyone
What is your favorite thing about TR?
I refuse to coment of the basis of the fact that i may incriminate myself (mysterious enough for ya?)

But thats about it for me, laterz all!

Hi, I am MMMowSkwoz, which is a shortened version of the frame-stretching MaMeeshkaMowSkwoz, but I am also known as Meeshka or Momo, for reasons unknown to me. I mod for the Morrowind side of TR and am part of the questing team. This means most of my time is spent making and testing TR's quests, but I also get involved in the writing and planning of quests as well as some general bug fixing. I'm currently doing a bit of work helping on the Map 1 Main Quest as well as fixing bugs in the existing Map 1 quests.

I'll have been with TR six months at the end of April, so I'm still a relative newbie, but I've found that I learn a lot faster working with other people rather than just doing individual projects and I get loads of input on aspects of modding I never even knew existed. I found TR through random browsing on the official Bethesda forums and was really impressed by the quality and scope of the project, so I lurked on the forum for a while before making a showcase and posting it up. I was promoted for quests and have been working on them ever since.

My favourite aspect of TR is the interaction between the modders. Not only do I learn a lot from all the different members, but the quality of the end product is better from having everyone's input and the strict quality controls. Whilst we do occasionally have frustrating 12 page-long arguments about the name of a town, we also get a lot of constructive input regarding possible quest conflicts or lore compatibility.

In real life I'm a full time postgraduate student, but I'll be starting work in October, which may unfortunately mean I get to spend less time on TR-related stuff. Regardless, I hope TR will continue to become bigger and better in the future. I've still got my fingers crossed for a final version of Map 1 before the end of 2009...

Hi, my name is Aeven (a nickname from a really bad fantasy novel I tried to write at age 13.) This month, April 2009, is my ninth month at Tamriel Rebuilt. I was drawn to the project when I saw it on Planet Elderscrolls, and saw images of Almalexia WIP-shots. I then made a showcase and was promoted for interior work. I hope to be promoted for exterior work too someday, but all in its time. I work on the Morrowind part of the project mostly, but have done some tiny things for our Hammerfell project. I have done a number of interiors, most of which will be seen in Map 4 and 5, but also one or two in Map 3.

I hope that Tamriel Rebuilt for Morrowind will become a standard part of every player's game, and will feel as much a part of the original game as Vvardenfell does. I say were well on track to achieve that.
I think it's sad that we have so few modellers for the Hammerfell project, because it promises to be excellent, provided we have the resources we need. So this is a sneaky recruitment message! Seriously, Hammerfell has the potential to be excellence itself. The Morrowind mod is being polished more and more each day. Map 3 will be a really exciting release, and for players to see the capital of Morrowind in all its metropolitan glory will be very special. I believe the detailers of that map are well under way, and once they are done and Necrom and Akamora are complete, the making alive of the lands of Indoril will begin.

Of all of our maps, Map 4 has real appeal to me. It will feature a kick-ass Imperial settlement (Old Ebonheart), and quite a number of awesome other settlements such as Kragenmoor (House Hlaalu) and Karthor Dale (House Redoran). I also love the rugged landscape of Map 4, such as in a recently finished exterior claim by blackbird. It is easily my favourite map.

When not modding, I have a number of different things to occupy my time. One of these is being part of a political youth organisation, which is part of the Social-Liberal party of the Netherlands. As you might have noticed, I am very interested in politics. But other hobbies include reading and watching television, and travelling across the country (and when possible, all of Europe).
Sadly, an institution known as the education system enjoys stomping on many of the joys known in life. But I suppose I just stated common knowledge.

My name is Stryker, one of the few girls working on the project lol. I mod for both the Morrowind and Oblivion sides of the project, but Morrowind is my favorite to work with. I am an Interior maker and Reviewer, I am also one of the few Questers & Playtesters. And hopefully I'll, eventually, be promoted for exteriors. Currently my jobs are working on the last two quests for Mistress Faruna, which I love the design for, and half (3) of the wilderness quests for Map2. Along with that, my higher priority is keeping the reviewing forum as reviewed as possible. One of the firsts jobs I did at TR was constantly testing Stirk before, and even after, its initial 'Final' release, I still occasionally playtest the current quest files, as well.

If you go by my profile I have been with TR since May of 2008, but I was gone for like seven months so I consider it more like four months of activity. I don't really remember how I found TR, I think it was just through randomly browsing PES that I stumbled upon it. I tried to join it because I was interested in getting back into modding and I wanted to contribute to such a huge project.

My hopes for TR would be to someday create all the provinces! Now, realistically speaking, it would be to just get our current projects done in a, fairly, reasonable amount time. Lots of progress has been done since I came back in later November and even more since May. I would say I am pleased with the rate most things are progressing.

Out of all the maps I'd have to say I don't really have any favorite part of any specific map, but I will say that Maps 3 and 4 are definitely my favorites right now. Mostly just due to the cities, settlements and other places that can be found there.

In my... spare... time I watch Anime (Sailor Moon, Gurren Lagann and whatever Thrig makes me watch), lurk on #tamriel and moderate a sports forum as well as writing a story that I've been writing for four years already. I don't really see any of those changing anytime soon. Outside of that I don't really have any occupation, but in summer I do work on the family farm most of the time.

I've had lots of fun here at TR ever since I came back, so I don't really see myself leaving here anytime soon. The most memorable moments for me, right now, would probably be finally finishing up Stirk (especially for what appears to be the last release) and reviewing around 60 interiors in 24 hours to break Thriggy-sensei's record (It was short lived however) and review the entire board at the same time.
My wishes for TR this year would have to be be to release a quested Map2, finish up Map1 and release a Map3 beta. (Who here doesn't want all of that?)

(I kinda rambled more than I expected to. Feel free to cut it down if need be.)

I'm Aiwyn the Breton, but in real life I'm Italian. I Joined TR as modder in Jan 2009, and i make meshes and textures, mainly for Oblivion but I'm trying to get also some Morrowind claim, as Morrowind is my favorite. I found TR searching for some High Rock related mod (as Bretons are my favorite race) and I found this... no High Rock (yet :P) but it's great, so I wanted to put my skill as modeler (I'm student of architecture but I've almost finished my study) to the project. I hope someday i could get to High Rock thanks to TR. :D
I liked very much the Morrowind maps and i can't wait for map6 to become "high priority", so I can work on the Dres set... Out of that, i like very much the quests: kinda Bethersda-made but... you know, there's something more, more personal, more... well, I think this is not a work for us, this is LOVE!
As modeler I feel sometimes like one of the the first links of a chain: without my work (and the one of the other modelers) interiors, exteriors couldn't be done as we all want to make them, so all questers, book writers and playtester are nothing to place their work in... sometimes I wish my section to be more productive, but I understand - as i have the same problems - a huge amount of our job is or complex, or boring, or needs skills and knowledges very peculiar (the Goldmoor Fountain water... WAAAARGH! ç_ç) or, last but not least, need a huge amount of time to make all the things as they're supposed to be and look like with a strict polycount limitation.
When I'm not working on TR meshes I usually work on my thesis, chat on TR IRC channel and drawing stuff, like TES/TR-comics or pinups. I like anime, fantasy novels (I'm actually writ... a-ehm TRYING to write one) and role-playing games. I used to moderate a PBEM, but my thesis made me take a sabbatical on that.

Re: For Make Benefit Glorious Blog of Tamriel Rebuilt

Post by RelinQ »

Dont forget me!!! :P

Who are you? and what area of TR do you work on?
Hey there, I'm RelinQ and I'm an Exterior & Interior Modder. I also try to help out whereever I can. currently I mainly focus on Exteriors.

What game do you Mod?
At the momemt just Morrowind, I may start some work for Oblivion in a few months, If I have the time.

How long have you been with the mod?
I think its been about 15months or so now

What drew you to TR?/How did you find out about TR?
I was looking for a map of Tamriel and found the site by accident, lucky me :D

Anyhow I had a huge island I made where Map1 currently resides; at the time I joined, I didnt have a great deal of it done. So I decided after 4 years of working on my island, I was going to lay it to rest and contribute to TR's Exteriors and Interiors.

What are you working on right now?
Im currently working one of the largest Map3 claims, I think it has about 80 cells. Its a bit of a tricky claim because of all the regions change within my claim :? which makes it a rather upleasant to work on at at times. But Ive doing exterior work since early 2003 so I should manage, I'll get there eventaully

What are your hopes for TR’s future?
Well I guess we I hope we just get things finished.

What is your favorite area of the maps?
I cant answer that, to hard. Eitherway its definetly not in my claim, Swamps are not pretty lol :P

What do you do when not modding?
Im a 3rd Year Univeristy Student, studying a Bachelor of Computing in Database Administration and Buisness.

What is your real life occupation?
University Student

What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.?
I'd like to think its going very well, but I do have my concerns. Alot of people are leaving or taking breaks from modding due to study and work, which is fair enough.

I do worry that I, myself will be in that boat later on this year, but only for a few weeks I hope. We're all getting older, and for alot of us time allocation is becoming difficult or very irregular.

Talk about personal history at TR and interaction with people, core and modders both.
Ive only been here 15 months, so I still feel like a noob around here. All I can say is its a great community, lots of very bright people, great Lore, great concepts (well.. most of the time XD), I cant wait to see what the future brings.

What is your favorite thing about TR?
The fact I can work on my favourite game ever and see it being improved and recreated in such an amazing way.

I’m Don Bernardo, in real life I’m a king of monkeys and also university student working on an environmental science degree. At TR I work in the muzaq department.

The first time I ever played a TES game was actually Redguard. This was many years ago and I was obsessed with pirates at the time. The cover of Redguard looked like it had pirates in it, so I bought it unaware that it was a small part of something much greater. The first time I played Morrowind was not too long ago in fact. After beating the main quest unmodded I was a little disappointed with Dagoth Ur, and more than a little disappointed with the game music. Although I almost cried (literally, tears welled up in my eyes) the first time I installed it and the fantastic Morrowind title screen theme came on:

[boom boom] [boom boom] Lasidooooo doremiiiiii misollaaaaaaaa solsilaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

But soon thereafter became disenchanted with it because it would replay about every five minutes or so. So to cut a long story short I began looking at mods and soon found the Bethblog’s interview with Gez sometime in the fall of 2008.

Now I’m working on composing music that we can hopefully script to play in Hammerfell. Music is one of the least active departments of TR, but I believe that there is a lot of room to make something awesome out of it, for really make benefit glorious TR. I hope to also instill this sense in others. I’m just restricting myself to composing for now though as it’s quite time-consuming in itself.

As far as the future of TR is concerned, I hope at some point to help find a way to script the music into the TESIV mod, enabling region specific music, even if it means learning to script myself. It looks like we’ll be able to use [url=http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=878782]this guy's patch[/url] to make an addon. For now though, since my machine’s too old for Oblivion, I’ll just have to wait and keep cranking out the tunes. Other than that I think TR’s headed in the right direction and I wish all the world-builders, modelers, scripters, etc., success!

My favourite areas are many. My first visit to map 1 was teleporting to Firewatch. I’m not a fan of Imperial towns so I quickly left and made my way up the coast to where I found a large tree on top of a hill, with a lantern hanging above a bench. It was dusk and the sky was a firy colour. I thought, man, I wish I could go there right now. And maybe bring a good book and a thermos of tea! Other times, I was exploring without the code patch, so I had no map. Often I had no clue where I was but it was mostly those times when I found some amazing locations. Some misty valley on the east coast of Morrowind with mighty gold-leaved trees and gigantic stone arches. An ancient stone bridge over a ravine with banners unfurled beneath it, hanging down into the abyss. I also enjoy talking to NPC’s about their backgrounds. They are so much more interesting than those guys on Vvardenfell!

I like the eclecticness of TR. I think Massalinie mentioned somewhere about how people from 13 to 30 somehow can work together on TR. Not only that but people from different countries as well. It’s the sort of thing that you don’t come across often. I guess that’s the magic of radio… I mean, internet.

Jedak (also known as Jedak-of-all-trades, Jaked, Jdelk and Jdaek to people who cannot type properly): I am one of the few (two) music modders of TR. I am approaching my third year with TR. During this time I have worked on areas of S&M Interiors, Exteriors, Quest Designing and CA for both the Morrowind and Oblivion projects. I am especially fond of the Morrowind project because of my love for the game and the whole idea... the list goes on. I can't say that I have been as active as I would have liked, especially this last year I have done little.

About the start of 2007 I finished the game and epansions of Morrowind. I was in love - the game captured my little imagination more than any other. I really felt like Jedak the (wood elf) Nerevarine and I was genuinly frightened at point in the game. It was a most wonderful experience. And so I started looking it up, eager to learn more. And so I came across Tamriel Rebuilt. I was really hyped up, and I became even more so when I learnt there was a section of the mod focused on music writing. So I decided to contribute whatever I can.

In real life I am a budding trumpet player, Composer and Conductor. My life is music, and music is my life. It is a shame that the music department has so little life in it but I believe that it has potential to one day come out and be finished. I think all it needs is a little bit of long term management, and somebody who is willing to keep it on that course, even if they don't contribute much. I am really happy that there are new members out there willing to join still and I am enjoying working with the new and rather prolific Don Bernardo.

On the other hand I do miss working with members such as Macar, who was my comrade in S&M when I joined. I hope that the future of TR is bright, and that it has a soundtrack to go with it. TR is well and alive and will not die any time soon. Currently I am trying to help Don with his writing and I hope that it is helping. I wish TR the best of luck for the future.

(The last paragraph isn't well structured. Oh well)
Macar: At last, I have a coleague to work with.

I am Yeti, a simple modder of interiors who works exclusivily on Morrowind. It's only been a short time since I became TR modder and my list of accomplishments number only 2 shacks. I am, however, dedicated to this project and dedicated to seeing the complettion of Morrowind province. When I have time I will be starting work on a shop/house in Narsis soon. My hopes for the future of TR is that version 1 of Map 3 is given a release this year and that the Dres archetecture thing is figured out.

I was drawn to TR soon after discovering the morrowind mod community, At first I didn't think I had a chance at joining but I eventually made it here. Along the way I've learned a lot about modding and have even been able to improved my meager computer skills. Being able to contribute to what is my second favorite game of all time has been an amazing exsperience. Getting to know all the people here at TR has also been great and I look forward to working with them into the future.

Admitabily I haven't played much of TR's maps since a freind of mine had borrowed the game for the past month and a half. My favorite area so far is the Grand ruin of Kemel-Ze. However from what I've seen so far it will soon be eclipsed by Necrom which I'm sure will be the most unique city in the whole project.

In the real world I am a high school student. Later on I hope to go to the University of Minnesota and go into dentistry.

Beave: I mod for Morrowind; I may extend my skills to Oblivion in the future, when I have more free time. For TR, I enjoy building small interiors. I also like to improve what others have already done, meaning I know a little about each part of CS work. I've been with TR since November 2008, about half a year. I found TR during a phase in my life where I had just tapped into the great reservoirs of mods on the internet, and in my craze to download mods and make the game better (over half of 'em I never even played), I come along TR's Map 1. I took a look at the readme after learning a bit more about Map 1, and followed the website address provided. From there the video on the front page was all it took to draw me in. Of course, I had been so thrilled that there was a project creating all of Tamriel, but most of that has worn off from time and learning only one province was being built per game. I still greatly enjoy helping Morrowind get built. Currently, I am finishing off a slave shack, and waiting for my three other finished claims to get submitted into the final piece. I also have several showcases that I plan to review, since there is little need for claim reviewers right now. Outside of TR, I am trying to improve a mod called Velayia, although I might be abandoning it soon, as it would take tons of work to make it come close to Morrowind quality.
I only hope that TR will continue to progress, without losing so much interest it is stopped. None of the work TR is doing can be rushed. I also hope that everyone involved has fun, and enjoys what they're doing. Considering the amount of people in the TR team and those eager to help, the only thing that could slow TR's progress is lack of dedication and/or skill (or real life). The core is strong and mature, and the mod is pretty amazing for a piece of work sewn together from hundreds of different work-styles. I think all of maps 4-6 will be really amazing to me. I've noticed during my time here that TR works together well when everyone acts maturally and selflessly. Whenever someone starts up an argument, the conversation may easily go off-topic and potentially leave bitter feelings between people.
My favorite thing about Tamriel Rebuilt is how big it is. Once Morrowind is done being worked on, gamers will have a whole new game's worth of content to delve in, and more. Heaven forbid the project be halted forever.

Everyone seems to have had a go at one of these, so I might was well too =D

What game do you mod? I work with Morrowind on account of having a horrifically bad for gaming laptop the vast majority of the time
What area of TR do you work on? Interiors, although I hope to expand into exteriors and questing at a later date
How long have you been with the mod? Since late February. I submitted my first showcase in early April, and was promoted in about 5 days =D
What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR? I've known about TR for about a year or two, and avidly followed every release, the lore-correctness and epicness of the design really drew me in to the idea of attempting to contribute. I started lurking on the IRC channel, asking lots of questions, and was eventually convinced to learn the CS and make a showcase or two
What are you working on right now? Currently? My first attempt at a cave, which is also my first attempt at something decent that isn't made from the Hlaalu Tileset :p
What are your hopes for TR’s future? I hope for the whole of Morrowind to be completed with the same attention to detail and awesome npcs/quests/cities that the first two maps have received
What is your favorite area of the maps? Probably map 3 so far, but maps 1, 2 and 3 are the only ones anywhere near complete so my opinion may completely change at a later date. I'm looking forward to seeing the completed Dres lands!
What do you do when not modding? Listen to increasingly obscure progressive metal/ general weird music, and read, lots and lots, mostly cyberpunk and science fiction. Also, i watch a fair bit of anime, seemingly whatever Stryker and Thrig recommend. There's also the thing with being British, and thus drinking nearly epic amounts of tea.
What is your real life occupation? I'm nearly at the end of my first year as a Chemistry Student, and frequently wear a labcoat in public, just for kicks =D
What is your favorite thing about TR? The attention to detail, the extra lore and the amazing sights (Kemel Ze, Port Telvannis, Almalexia, Kogo'tel, etc etc) that can be found away from Vvardenfell. Oh, and the more imaginative quests than can generally be found in the original game.

Why not? Everyone else has done this.

I've done work for both, but I primarily work on Morrowind. Oblivion is depressing. I am the former Head of Literature on this project, and I still contribute literature (mostly boring non-fiction stuff. You can find some of it on TIL.) and a few interiors. I've been with the project for 4 years. I was drawn to TR after playing an ancient version of map 1. It was terribly boring and shoddily done, but I loved the scope of the project. Vegor helped me learn the CS, and I joined shortly after.

Whether hell or high water, I'd love to see the Morrowind project finished. We've come so far, and have improved so much. Although there is still a massive workload ahead of us, we've finally earned the respect of the Elder Scrolls community. I would really hope to see some more skilled modders take up the cause towards finishing Morrowind. We've come so far that we cannot stop now.

I am a military history student studying on the road to a PhD in Byzantine Studies. As such, you'll find that many of my books have military and logistical themes.

My favourite areas of TR are definately Map 1 (I love the Telvanni) and some of the small Indoril settlements. The architecture is so pompous and posh, but it makes for some nice small towns. The Telvannis region has so much character.
